Does anyone know of an effective home or natural treatment for acne?

I would love to explore a more natural approach to treat my breakouts. Any suggestions?

There are so many great home remedies that I've had luck with! One of my favorites is using a mixture of castor oil and fractionated coconut oil to wash my face with. I get a small travel bottle and fill it about a quarter full of castor oil and then top that off with the coconut oil. I also add a few drops of essential oil (tea tree, lavender, clary sage, rosemary, and lemon are all great for acne) You massage a small amount of that onto your face for 1-2 minutes and then use a warm washcloth to remove the oil from your face. It leaves your skin super clean and SO soft. I know it sounds counterproductive to put oil on your face if you have acne problems but it actually does work incredibly well.

Another favorite is making my own Vitamin C serum at home. You can buy L-Ascorbic Acid powder on Amazon for pretty cheap and then mix it with distilled water to make your own serum. It's so much cheaper than buying pre-mixed serums and then you get to control what's actually in it.

Is your skin oily, dry or combination?

Hi, the best home remedy is apple cider vinegar (with mother) bought from the health food store NOT grocery store. Bragg is the best one.
Daily take a tablespoon (do NOT dilute with water) after supper. Note: If taken on an empty stomach, it acts as a weight loss remedy so you may not see results.
Be patient, you will see results in a few months. My son had a face full of breakouts until he tried the remedy. Worked wonders! Good luck!

Sometimes acne is just caused by age and hormones. One thing not to do is scrub your face. The more you scrub, the more your skin releases oils to help combat the dryness. Hailey E below might have the right idea, oils will soothe your skin. If you're under 30 you might just have to wait until your hormones stop being a pain in the butt.

Hi. Good on you for wanting to try natural ways to control your acne. There are lots of things on the market these days that are way better than what I could buy when I was in my teens. I'm thinking Clearasil, now. Yuck! Didn't work for me. Was greasy & horrible & made my acne much worse, not better. Have you tried toothpaste? I used to dab a tiny bit of toothpaste on problem spots before bed. In the morning, it washed off easily & the pimple was nice & dry. I had much success with toothpaste. Any old toothpaste will do. I am 61 yrs young now & have no issues with acne anymore. I hope toothpaste works for you. Cheers! Jan from Australia.

Have you tried Aqueos cream for a facial wash, it comes in large 500g tubs and is quite cheap, Amazon sell it so do chemists and some supermarkets. A lot of products for acne can actually make it worse due to the chemicals.
