I have purchased many items over the past few years, amazing deals so happy with all of my purchases! My most recent purchase was a cat tree that needed to be assembled. It was exactly as described with all the parts and instructions for an "Awesome" price! I have dealt with Melissa on several occasions, she has been very pleasant and honest with every purchase! Got a pallet of Amazon undelivered boxes, the bid was $1000.00 they added a 20% fee and Taxes on top of that which made the items not worth it. The boxes ended up not worth the money paid. Need to find another auction house that offers better items and a reasonable fee. Also people why are you guys jacking up the price for the bids before the last day, it makes no sense, bid only on Tuesday to avoid the prices going up too crazy.
Customer service is not existent! I bought a bike seat and it's missing a hardware! No refund because they said it's my fault. Their manager Jessica will just walk out on you. That's how they handle escalations! Very terrible! I lost my 200$ but the way the universe works. People who take advantage of other people are bound to lose more
One item purchased and they charged us $80 to ship it! The shipping price was completely out of line for the size and 5 lb weight of the package so we priced it ourselves through UPS and without any special rates which we are sure AuctionMaxx gets, the cost from our door to theirs was $23. They are gouging outrageously on shipping and if you win anything at auction, they charge another 20% on top of the price that you won it at! Don't bother calling or writing customer service, Jess and Melissa (owner) are unbelievably rude and not helpful in the least, they aren't interested to hear how they ripped you off and they only want your hard earned $$$$. Avoid these scammers at all cost and use one of the many decent auction sites operating out of the GTA area where you get what you pay for and you are not ripped off. They should be put out of business for being scam artists.
The employees one in question Joel is very disrespectful. It is not okay to treat adults like you are speaking to a dog. I assume he was never taught to use the word please or thank you. The supervisor response to my complaint was to block my account and proceed to send me an email to not come back on the property and of I do I will be removed. Terrible customer service and they are unwilling to listen to the customers complaint.

As a customer when you pay you do not have any rights and no warranty. If you do not want to pick up the product they charge 50 dollars fee. The product had an issue and they told me they were not Walmart, and that this was privet property and left the privet place. No one to talk event the manager is not available. This place is scary and do not waste your money and time. They deserve to be closed down and not even one star as a review. They just want your money.
Bought 50 units of Nike clothing and all damaged? Wrote customer service an email because there is no phone number and complained about there return policy and they blocked me from bidding again. How unprofessional is this.

Bought several items, there was most of the times an issue with it. Sometimes, after i won, they cancelled the auctions without asking me. Then parts were missing, therefore useless and once i emailed them about a "new" item which wasn't working, they told me to throw it away, and i will get refunded and then management did not honor their staff's emails. Very sad! After a complaint, they closed my account, without notifying me upfront, so i would not have evidence! So take always screenshots from whatever you buy! Super expensive 3M masks, for several hundred Dollars last year, were all fake but declared as real. If you buy brand names, double check in stores, if they are authentic! I would be extremely cautious!

Seems to be cheaper comparing with others stores but the reality is you only save a couple loonies! Most of the time things does not work properly. And they dont respect the guarantee! Better buy new stuff in stores that you already know!
They constantly changing there hours of operation, no longer open on weekends and everyone seems to go on the same day for a pick up. Parking is a mess and the waiting room is stuffed wall to wall with people, cause there only open 3 days a week.
There items are nothing more than Amazon returns that there staff may or may not inspected.
Rude staff give you the item to inspect in a crowded room witch says to be new in the listing but finding the package mangled and the item visibly used, and the staff have the arrogance to shrug and say " get refund". After driving in traffic during the middle of the week parking being a mess and being squished in a room and there rude staff act like they did me a favor with "get refund". That was the last time ill use auctionmaxx theres plenty of other auction sites with friendly staff and are open more than 3 days a week. The place is a joke,who ever makes the rules should of been fired long ago.
Purchased an item of insignificant value. I was not able to complete the pickup on the following Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, the 3 days passed and my account is suspended. They want a account reinstatement fee of $1000 plus Tax, a restocking fee of $50 plus tax and they inform me that the goods are already relisted.
I was a good client of Auctionmaxx until I recently got ripped off. I purchased a very expensive cargo e-bike in their auction. The description said NEW, the photo showed a box that was strapped shut. I can only assume since it was STRAPPED shut and NEW in box that everything was there but no, guess what?; the 2 most expensive items on the bike were conveniently missing - the 2 batteries worth over $1000. Without the batteries a cargo e-bike cannot function! I emailed the office to return the product but I was basically told - too bad, you did not inspect the goods in the warehouse. I had to pay a ridiculous restocking fee to return the dud e-bike. I feel completely squandered. That same day I also purchased a cantilevered umbrella. The description did not bother to mention that the crank is missing which they clearly knew because they had to open the umbrella to photograph it. Once you complain, the owner Melissa just deactivates your account and ignores you. Shameful. I have no intention of ever buying from such a horrible company but I emailed to just be able to access my past invoices and I am completely ignored. I would include the photo of the STRAPPED box in the posting but I can't access my account. Maxx is highly UNETHICAL and ROTTEN to the core. Buyer BEWARE!

This company seems to be enjoying suspending people and telling them not to visit their store. From reading all the comments here, my situation is the same, so I am not the only victim. This company treats people like beggars and kicks them out. What a group of lunatics. I have not encountered a company in Canada with such garbage customer service. I am now reporting my case to the credit card center because they charged my card without my authorization. I discovered this on my e-statement. I emailed them, and they said they charged a restocking fee because my card failed when they attempted to charge for the item. But if my card doesn't work, how can they charge a restocking fee? They did not call me or email me about such an incident, yet they charged my card without my authorization. They are committing fraud!

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE... Place charges a 20% buyers fee and hst... 33% over and above your price added on... what a greedy joke... I do many auctions and not one charges over 12% buyers fee... so every item you buy can be bought at any retailer for the same price with a warranty... don't get caught up in this greedy place... hope they go out of business for their greed... they remained open during the pandemic and now there is no reason to do this new 20% buyers fee... I sent an email asking why... they told me they were closing my account... WHAT? Who the hell do you think you are doing that for asking a question and having an opinion... your $#*! is all junk anyway and you stand behind nothing... be smart people... go to the stores that have returns and this place sold me an item once with no cord and it did not state that and the rude person just looked at me and said... can't do anything about it... hope this is one place I see fail soon.

SCAM AUCTIONS. There is an auction, the clock is in motion and based on the bidding pattern it is clear I can win this auction (my Minimum I was going bid on was significantly higher) at the last Minute the auction is deleted with no reason. I will be getting a $7800.00 Item for considerably less then Retail. Their offices are closed Tuesdays during Auction time so it is clear that the Auction was being Monitored. This is an illegal Auction practice. (my friend is a licensed Canadian Auctioneer so I am not accusing them blindly). If there had been a reserve on the auction it would have timed out. There was no reserve posted. I have already filed a complaint with the province.

If I call and ask Maxx directly even if it just a polite inquiry my account will be deleted. That seems to be the Christian way.
If anyone else wants to jump in we have enough information to File a Law suite against them. Maxx can use an excuse on 1 or 2 of the auctions but at this point there is a pattern according to my auctioneer friend to proceed.
They sell you garbage and do not take returns. Broken and damaged goods. When approached they simply say it's as is and have no proof or policy proof to back it up. Very disappointed with them. Wish I had not bought from this crook company
Running a scam and half with no worries. They get innocent people to bid on their non working junk and they have bots and people bidding against them. Once the junk is sold and paid for, they would never take it back, where is the government now to impose some rules and regulations on these criminals?

Arbitrary policies- bans good customers if complaints are made which include a deadline and actions to be taken upon failure to respond within a reasonable time. This is Standard practice for reporting complaints to businesses as shown on Consumer Protection guidelines. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, Management goes on the offensive.

I am disappointed in their people skills. They have many customers now so they have forgotten about the people who have been with them for years. No courtesy, no interpersonal skills, bad customer service, from management downward.
