I felt that the information in the report I wanted was inadequate for my purposes. I contacted customer service and cancelled on the same day I signed up. They asked the reason for my requesting cancellation; they gave me a full refund and cancelled future billings. The customer service rep was very courteous and non-confrontational. I cannot recommend this site for the quality of the background reports but I had a good experience with customer service.
My Lifelock alerted me that BackgroundAlert.com was selling my info in the dark web. I have never used them. LifeLock to me to the remove page and they want me to upload a drivers License. I would not. Be afraid of this network

Tip for consumers:
Try his is for an account I never used. They were turned in to me from Life Lock as a warning that they had my info on the dark web
Some months ago I paid $1.00 for very limited information and it appears that when you subscribe to the $1 they then sign you up as a member. My card was charged $29,99 and I disputed this and demanded a full refund. I told them if them if they did not retract this charge that I would call my Visa card and have them dispute the charge which they did. This company is useless and scammers
They offer you a $1.00 trial and then charge your card $29.95. The report I got was on myself and had multiple people with my same first and last name from around the country with many crimes from traffic tickets to felony convictions. The list of aliases that I supposedly had used had different middle names Id never used and some creative distortions of my last name. I wouldnt use this for anything but a joke. Dont waste your money and seriously dont believe what you read.
I didn't find these reviews when I first went looking. Paid my fee and was surprised to be hit with an upsell to get 'everything' for another $20.00. What the hell... I cancelled immediately.
Tip for consumers:
Stay Away!
Want a one-time payment to see a single report (probably yourself)? That's the option I clicked but found I was getting recurring charges monthly.
No emails from the site aside from my initial purchase, your dashboard when you log in doesn't say anything about your subscriptions (just lists the report[s] you've pulled), and you cancel via this *tiny* little option at the very bottom of the page).
So if you need to use their service, know that you'll need to immediately "cancel" through that link unless you want ninja-charges on your account.
I was billed for a inadequate background check supposed to be $9.95 a month. My credit card was billed 22.95 at a little after 4am this morning. The information didn't even have all the information I was told I would receive and parts were very inadequate. Reporting them, sent email and will cancel my card as soon as I speak to my cardholder normal business hours. Don't give them your information, they are totally dishonest.
I was trying to locate a missing relative to advise them of a death in the family. I paid $23.99 for the "free search" which did not include a phone number - that was 19.99 more. I drove 40 miles to the address they gave, only to find out the person I was looking for had not lived there in at least 5 years, if ever. I called to complain and cancel. They offered a 25% refund for the useless advice.
The only thing they supplied me was the name, age, & birthday, & some old addresses. They said the person had a clean criminal background and yet I bailed them out of jail this past year! She still has another criminal charge against her that has not gone to court yet!
The WORST - A WASTE OF MONEY!
I agreed to the $1 charge for a 5 day membership and found that I was charged $5. But contacted my credit card company and got that fixed. Also, the provide NO real in depth information unless you purchase the premium package. Look out folks. These guys are scammers.
Wasted money. Information is incomplete - I was looking for my own info - needed a date, and it does not have any records aside from the name change: no marriage and divorce dates, no addresses, etc.
They are a terrible company that charges you $22.95 when you don't know it. They make it look like one-time purchase and then they take your personal information and use it to their benefit and charge your credit card without you knowing it. They are very unscrupulous and dishonest. They make their money by charging your card before you realize it and then when you cancel they won't refund you because you didn't read the fine print.
Purchased the one month and when I went in my information was incorrect including my marital status and then it wanted another 19.99 from for the the "premier" information. Called the bank and stopped my purchase and complaoned to the service. The customer service woman told me I needed to contact someone to correct my information and it was not their fault. I told her I was cancelling.
"BackgroundAlert" should set off alarm bells just by the sheer stupidity of its name. Always assume that "background info" pay sites are scams. I can find out almost anything about anyone on FamilySearch for free. It's not even connected to stupid Ancestry.com, amazingly, which seems to have practically cornered the market on everybody's personal details. BlackBook is another good source of free information. Try those options before you haul out a credit card and throw your money away on rip-off sites like BackgroundAlert.
I did not sign up for any monthly program from you please stop taking money from my account.

Don't they are the lowest of lows.
WHAT A SCAM Why isn't the better business doing anything about this? I signed up to get a copy of divorce papers from 2007. Not only were the divorce papers not found the marriage certificate was not found either. I then searched for my own public records and found nothing. When I saw a charge of $59.00 I was furious. RIPOFF.
Ran a check on myself and there was no information and it even had my birthdate wrong. Terrible! Do not waste your money!
Please do not waste your money on backgroundalert.com. You pay a fee of $22.95 to get a small amount of information. Then you read for $19.99 you can get a premium report. Well there may have been a little more information, but just a little. Big waste of money, I called for a refund and was told I could only get 50% of the premium charge $9.97. What a waste of money... Go to lexisnexis.com and get a much more comprehensive report for free. Accurint division@ *******011
I agree with all the other reviewers it's a waste of time and money zero information and most of it is not current or even correct. They only refund some of your money you pay to get scammed by this company.
This is not a reputable company. Once you sign up you get very little information and then they ask for additional fee to get a more detailed report or information. Very dishonest company. Stay far, far away from this site and company.
You get minimal information, and it is very superficial. Then they want to charge you again to get their Premium report. Waste of money. Go elsewhere.
They told me I could get all the info I needed for 22.95 for 1 month.
All they told me for that was, there wasnt any marriage records for her. I know she has been married more than 2 times!
These people rip people off. When I called, they knew why off the rip and canceled my account immediately. They know full well they are ripping people off. I dont know how to sue them but maybe someone else out there does and I can be a part of it. I know I wont get $#*! but stopping these $#*!s from ripping off people is enough for me.
I complained and $#*!ed to my cc company. They reimbursed me for all the services this scam tried to take from me. I HIGHLY suggest you fight them and do the same until they change their ways. I got my refund. You should too.
Scroundrels!
I just called BackgroundAlert.com to opt out from having private information available to the public and they told me "No. Anyone will be able to access your personal, sealed records. Sorry" They are damaging my reputation and they won't bring down MY sensitive, classified information!
I cant believe the law will let scumbag companies like backgroundalert.com rip you off like they do. The info that I got for $22.95 gave just the name and address of the person which I can get anywhere. I upgraded for $19.95 to get all information and got nothing.
They should put these bastards in jail for fraud.
This service could not even pull my marriage record and failed miserably to find anything else beyond my name and address history. They lure you in and once you've paid you get almost zero results with option after option to by upgraded searches. Save your money and look up all the free records online yourself.
