Its funny because I am writing the review after cancelling. We didn't need their service and it was a breath of fresh air with them not trying to make money off of people with contracts and deceptive practices. I know the other reviews don't agree, but my chat experience with Dirk L was great and he went out of his way to help me solve my problem in a fair way.

I signed up for a monthly download subscription which allowed 5 downloads per each day of the month. Three weeks into it, for some reason, all of the stock photos I'd put into the "saved" box for future downloads disappeared. I gave it a couple of days, thinking their website might be having issues, but after Day 3, I realized it wasn't a website issue. The search engine for photos was not presenting stock photos which fit the description I was looking for; and just trying to pick one of the photos to put into my cart didn't work. Their customer service which was a "new platform" was useless. AVOID THIS SCAM!

I have an account with this company. I have a lot of pictures on my computer. When I want to send pictures, they only accept 10 pictures for review.
The review process lasts 3 days
At this rate, they will review 100 photos per month
Honestly, a despicable company, I would not recommend it to anyone

I have been trying to subscribe for 2 weeks already.
They have serious issue with their IT - I am not sure how they are protecting the data! 1
1) I can not log in with my email as I can not recover the password - the platform says it does not exist;
2) I can not create an account with the same email as it says it exists already
3) I have another account where I can not purchase any subscription as it does not allow me to put the credit card it.
I have a ticket. I received an answer they experience issues with new clients. It is 2 weeks already and problem NOT SOLVED.

I uploaded 2000 designs for sale on Big Stock Photo which took me over one year worth of work... I only made $100 in commissions but never withdrew the funds... One day my account was possibly hacked or Big Stock Photo stole the money... Someone switched my paypal payout email address then immediately withdraw all the funds without even a password confirmation... I received an email saying email was changed and funds were withdrawn... I quicky changed my password and I contacted Big Stock Photo within 5 minutes of this happening... They sent me some auto generated reply and immediately suspended my account... I emailed them over 100 times over the course of 2 months and never received a single reply after the account was suspended... Big Stock Photo basically stole my money and ignored me... Horrible what they did to me... Never use them!

When you purchase a license photo and pay for it they then
Automatically put you on a subscription of $79 per month
And charge your credit card without your permission. Hidden
In small type Terms and Conditions. Not consumer informed.
Then when you dispute the $79 charge they say it is non-refundable.
Buy from one of the many other photo sources online. Do not buy
From Big Stock Photo.

Hi Ms. O.

We're sorry you feel that you were charged unexpectedly. When signing up for a paid plan, the following information is displayed prominently directly below the box in which you enter your payment details:

"$79 today. After that, your plan will renew on December 6,2019 and continue to renew each month. Cancel in your Account settings or by contacting our support team."

Below the "Start Downloading" button is this information:
"Please Note: Your credit card will always be charged three days prior to your renewal date. We do this to prevent any disruptions in service due to bank processing times. You can cancel Auto Renewal at any time, on the site or by contacting our support team."

Let us know if we can clarify anything further by reaching out to our support team at support@bigstock.com or via phone at1-855-272-5125, or by chatting with us on our site. We'll surely be able to explain and rectify any lingering concerns that you have. Thanks!

I signed up for images hence name "big stock photos". I email to cancel after on the last day of my 5 day trial. You get 5 images a day over the days days and I downloaded only 5 out the 25 as the images are not sufficient to what i need. Then i see they ignored my cancellation email charged mw twice for the subscription and now say i also signed up for videos when i didn't. They are now refusing to offer me a refund even though i have not used any more images and no video images which i didn't even know I had. My advice dont use this company they are poor.

Would have an image but they didnt send a email to confirm purchase (again another reason dont use.)

This is the worst company to buy stock photos from. They make you wait even after paying for the subscription every day to download 5 photos. I will never use them again.

My friend once signed up to use Big Stock Photo but he didn't have a credit card, so he used mine. He recommended I try it. I then filled in my information to try the 7 day free trial but it said I had used the trial before. I presumed this was because my credit card had been used by my friend. I therefore entered in my information again with a new credit card. I then got charged $79 without the free trial. So, I then emailed their customer service. The customer service then replied with this:

"Since you were already enrolled in a free trial, a second trial could not be utilized. If a user tries to enroll in a second free trial, the trial check-out page will state that we only provide 1 free trial per customer and will be charged for a paid plan if they continue. Before you proceed to sign up, the page specifies what plan you are getting. A copy of this page is attached for your review. Since you completed the purchase, this subscription was added to the account.
Under our Terms of Service subscription plans are non-refundable so we are unable to issue a refund for this agreed to month of subscription time. The auto-billing has been cancelled though so that when it ends on February 11,2020 at 1:38:14 AM EST your plan will simply end and not renew."

So even after I explained and asked for a refund they refused. This is extremely unreasonable. I haven't used their service at all yet, but they charged $79. When you sign up the page changed so little that it is not noticeable that the small writing has changed - so you cannot notice it. I canceled IMMEDIATELY and emailed then IMMEDIATELY to rectify the situation. If this is how BigStockPhoto.com runs their business then you should definitely STAY AWAY because they obviously try to trick their customers and then keep your money. I will now have to go to my credit card company to cancel the payment and show them the screen shots that say 7 DAY FREE TRIAL. If BigStockPhoto do not want to do the right thing for their customers then I have no choice but to leave this review wherever I can to teach people about their deceitful practices.

They decline most of my images, wich a tried to submit here as a contributor. The reason of decline - Incorrect Release Designation. But i'v attached the property releases to every image and these releases were correct. Also i can't prove that by showing these attachements, because after that they declined an image, here is no option to open an edit menu of that image.

Like so many others, I signed up for a free trial and was automatically enrolled in a subscription plan that cost $79/month for a year, without my knowledge or consent. Unfortunately, I did not notice this on my credit card statements until a year later (this month), so I have now been charged $948 for a few downloads in February 2017. BigStockPhoto did not have most of the quality photos I needed for my book project anyway, so I purchased the majority of them from two other stock photo services, without any problem. Stay away from BigStockPhoto!

Hi Janice,

We're very sorry that you feel that you were automatically enrolled in a subscription plan without your knowledge or consent. We do our best to notify users that they need to cancel the trial subscription prior to the end of the trial. We do this in the following ways:

Between the credit card entry field and the button where a user confirms the free subscription is the following information:
"Your Free Trial includes 35 free images. We will bill you $79 on March 13,2018 (the applicable date based on date of sign up) unless you cancel before then. After that, your plan will renew monthly. Cancel in your Account settings or by contacting our support team."

After the free trial and your agreement to $79 a month the honeymoon is over. They wouldn't give me a credit so I called Amex and charged back. I told them that I would do that if they couldn't find a resolution. They froze my account before this could be done. Terrible customer service. Do not fall into the trap we did. $158 for a total of about 15 pictures over two months and a complete waste of our time.

I was their costumer for few years. But now it is over for good. They have charged me even when I have cancelled subscription. And there is no way to remove / delete credit card info under my account settings to be sure they would not try to rob me again.

I have used Bigstock several times in the past and the service was fine. However, now there are serious problems. I have been charged a monthly rolling subscription fee, a subscription I never ordered or needed. In the past I just paid access for 1 month and paid a fee for one month. However, now you're automatically entered into a monthly rolling contract which you have to cancel on your online account. Didn't know this, so they debited my credit card for several months before I realized what was happening. I have read other reviews where people have even cancelled their subscription but Bigstock still carried on taking payments. So, I had to contact my credit card provider today to stop Bigstock taking any further payments.

It's a shame Bigstock now provide a service that is not transparent and you can be over charged hundreds of pounds with no chance of a refund. This might make money in the short term for Bigstock, However people like myself and others who have been burnt will not use Bigstock again.

I tried the 7 day trial and signed up late one night (early am my time zone). Due to time zone difference, I missed the rebill cutoff by a few hours as my 7 days was one day off from their 7 days. I was billed for TWO subscriptions, $79 for 5 images/day & another $79 for 5 videos/day. I explained the timing issue to Customer Service & all I could get was repeated regurgitations of their legal policies. So now I'm stuck paying $158 for images & videos that offer me nothing that I didn't already have in other subscription services. (The video options are especially limited & blah). I have subscriptions with Depositphotos & yayimages - both of which offer similar material at a fraction of the price & offer lots of deal prices so check the web. Do yourself a big favor and stay away from big stock. There are much better options at a fraction of the price. Lesson learned - price $158!

Tip for consumers:
Go elsewhere! The images were comparable to those I have access to on Depositphotos or Yay images, both of which are a fraction of the price, especially since each frequently offer great deal packages. Do yourself a favor & stay away from big stock. I sure will!

Products used:
a few images which I actually could have gotten on a different service I pay for (at a fraction of the price)

Joseph T (customer care "advocate") was snarky beyond belief. Cancellation online is challenged 3 times - yes, I am sure i want to cancel. Do not assume clicking to cancel the autobill at the first or second menu is sufficient - it is not. Also, if you call them, it is not adequate to explain the situation... you must use the magic word "refund". I will never do business or refer business to any company that plays these semantic games.

I, too, signed up for 2 trials but canceled before they expired. However, the system is very unstable, had to do it multiple times on one of them yet still got billed, so I kept on using and successfully canceled after my first auto-billing was charged.

Ever since then, I try to use all my 10 tokens everyday but the webpage crashes constantly I had problems downloading 10 videos everyday. For instance, my re-downloads were counted as new downloads and lost my tokens to them. And when I write them about this issue, they blame me for my internet environment (ridiculous), and only compensated me the 2 tokens I asked for, valid for only a short period of time (in which hours we're in sleep here in my time zone). Therefore I never got to use the tokens lost, this went on for a couple days and in the end I said never mind I want to cancel my subscription and get money back, so they added 1 day on my subscription. I'm waiting to see if that's gonna hold up.

Seriously guys, don't use them! Go to other platforms! The free trial is sweet but make sure you cancel it before getting billed. It's not worth going through the hassle.

If none of their monthly plans makes economic sense for you, you can buy credits. They don't tell you that banked credits "expire" some time later. Out of the blue you will get an e-mail informing you. In other words, Bigstock just steals your money. Don't be a victim, there are plenty of alternatives.

I signed up thinking this we be a great idea for a free trial to check out the website and get some free images. The images are not downloading properly. They will not let me use the size I want AND when attempting to cancel by following where it says to go on my account there is no option the actually cancel. They are "unavailable" via live chat. Do not respond to emails and seem to not ever actually answer the phone. I am hugely unimpressed and urge everything to thinks wife before considering this website. A big scam it seems.

A trial membership with Bigstock requires you to submit credit card information and later you will find out why. After one week, you are automatically charged $79 with the starting date as the first day of your trial membership! This is, at best, a devious company, and at worst, a scam. They send you notices of all the "FREE" things to encourage you to believe you are still in the trial period, while all the time, charging you a whopping $79 a month even when you do not look at the web site! It is time to put this company off the internet!
