This news team decided to cover a live professional gaming event under the guise that they wanted to learn more about how passionate the fans of the Smash Bros game were and to learn more about the competitive environment. They interviewed a number of the individuals involved in the tournament from tournament organizers to actual competitors as well as fans and asked questions about their involvement with the event and why they liked coming to events or playing the games. In their coverage of the event, they instead took questions out of context and out of order in order to paint the event as a gathering of those suffering from gaming addiction. Not only is their coverage absolutely pathetic, but also a mischaracterization of the event and what they discussed. It may also be libel. This is sufficient evidence to warrant an investigation in their coverage of local events and news stories. I wouldn't trust them as a reputable news source based on this event since they don't seem to be all that interest in actually giving out news; instead they want to form an opinion and then present that opinion rather than the facts. It's not the role of a journalist to express opinion; it is a role of a journalist to report on the news. This wasn't a news story despite being presented as such.
