“Fraudulent company that deactivates accounts and steals commission”

Vik S.
4/2/23

If there was a ZERO rating I would give them that but this is the most disgusting company with no ethics that I have dealt with. They deactivated my account without good reason and kept my $128 in commission. What kind of fraud could I have done if I made only 128 dollars in commission?! Its ridiculous. I even explained to them that some of my customers don't have international cards so on email I get request to purchase products for them so I made some sales on their behalf but the CJ.com team just won't listen. Affiliates stay away from this fraud company. They also don't release commission on time and always open an "investigation" before payouts are due.an excuse to steal your commission. The management should be behind bars.

Tip for consumers:
They are not trustworthy and have stolen from thousands of affiliates. After closing affilaite accounts have they returned the commission back to the publishers ? I doubt that too.

As an affiliate I was selling some antivirus and using CJ links. I regret dealing with this company.

They scam you into a long term contract, forcing you to pay monthly fees, with no support knowing that you will not get results.

Sent 2000 messages to their advertisers, didn't make any revenue.

Waste of time and money.

Tip for consumers:
Do not use

One of the better networks for commissions. Payments are reliable, but their commission rates are not the best. Sometimes you can negotiate better rates directly with merchants.

These folks don't communicate. They close accounts, won't tell you why, and won't pay you either. It took me hours to delete all affiliate links from my pages and nearly 100 articles. I've sent them multiple emails asking why I was removed since I followed all the rules and even have an email stating I was in compliance with Chewy. They have not sent any reply. I'm not surprised. Honestly, if you're a blogger don't waste your time with affiliates. Work directly with sponsors or sell your own products. That's the only way you'll make a penny. Keep as much control as possible.

Tip for consumers:
If you're a blogger do go the affiliate route. Find sponsors or sell your own products. That's the only way your blog will be profitable.

Looking for such reviews, I wish I had seen these bad reviews on Commission Junction when I joined them in August. Although it's easy to get accepted into the program, the member dashboard is good and I was given a 2nd chance after deactivation on March 1, I don't know where to start regarding what's wrong with this service. Here are the things I dislike about them: 1) It's too hard to reach their support team; 2) If you close your browser, you must login again even if you didn't previously log out; 3) You must accumulate $100 to cash out by check, $50 to cash out by direct deposit; 4) Page loading is slow; 5) Advertisers are allowed to go many months to approve or decline your application to join them; 6) Some advertisers will invite you to join them by email, only to turn you down upon applying through your CJ portal; 7) One advertiser dropped me within a day of approving my application; 8) I've made no money here despite my efforts, my running their advertiser banners on my blogs, my posting their brands discounts on Facebook; and 9) Advertisers are miserly in which some of them state on their banners you'll receive a certain amount of money for generating banner clicks in a 7-day or 90-day period but never pay you no matter how many visitors you continually send them - this can hurt you if your account is deactivated and you're charged a dormancy fee for not earning any commissions for 6 months.

I stayed a month as an affiliate, it's a waste of time, because they just close your account and don't pay you! The proof I have is my account balance, they just didn't pay my commissions. It is a fraudulent company that deceives publishers!

Tip for consumers:
They act in bad faith and do not pay affiliates. Let other people not waste their time, as they will work for them for free.

If you read this on 2021 or later - don't bother to even try to use this Affiliate Network. They close accounts for now reason, UI is slow and not friendly, tracking attribution of sales is bad (stealing your commisions), support pages does not work at all - they throw some misterious salesforce error. And so on. Keep away for your own good.

We are an affiliate marketing agency and we manage a portfolio of affiliate programs. CJ is by far the worst affiliate network we use. Here are some of the reasons: 1) technology is antiquated in comparison to other platforms such as Impact, 2) they make simple things difficult, that other platforms provide seamlessly, such as exporting affiliate contact list, 3) the user interface and dashboard is 10 years behind, 4) mobile integration capabilities are inferior, and 5) the staff is not technically knowledgeable or well trained and offer very little support.

I made some sales with a particular company and watched my clients when I sent the link. I thought maybe I did something wrong. Well. My buddy and a couple of people did the same and got paid. I was sure that I used the links correctly. Now here's where I started to get suspicious. I started tracking with a reputable link tracker and did different campaigns to make sure it was reliable and use this same company for all of my marketing clients. Well, lots of clicks, thousands for free offers, not only proved to me they completed the offer for my giveaway, well I got no sales. I'm hoping you guys didn't steal money from me like that. There are a lot of great companies on here that I would love to continue to promote but can't since they are only on CJ. Here's the deal, if these stores are getting all the traffic and sales they have no reason to complain. Why take advantage of people? Greed makes no sense.

I've been using Commission Junction for a while and while it's definitely one of the largest affiliate marketing exchanges and there's a lot of value here for web publishers, it's way harder to use than it should be. To really get the most value you need to build up relationships with all the individual affiliates and it just isn't as efficient as it should be. It should work more like AdSense.

I have been using cj for some time. Lately some advertisers are deactivated while their links are being provided live to publishers by cj, that means no commissions for traffic drive via the advertiser's banners, text links, and/or other link types! Cj should immediately remove those links instead of asking publisher to do this without any prior notice. Looks like a scam!

I spent a lot of time and effort in building links and relationships with advertisers and my blog was just growing traffic albeit it was still small. I was just building links the right way and organically over time. They then closed my account without reason or explanation. Now, instead of using my time to create additional articles, I am reviewing my pages to ensure all the CJ links are removed.

Adding to what others have said. CJ is fraud, scamming waste of time. They take your commissions and hide behind their legalese TOS agreement. In my opinion it's criminal behavior. At the very least... it's unethical.

They are owned by Conversant Media (https://www.conversantmedia.eu/solutions/affiliate-marketing-solutions).

Conversant Media is run by Epislon (https://www.epsilon.com/us).

Tip for consumers:
Do not use CJ. No need to waste your time promoting products when you won't get paid.

They never answer support queries, they don't payout, and they can't give you a statement of what was paid out by who - If this isn't a true testament to a scam company - Then I dont know what is - Reporting is nonsense it shows you nothing - I have pulled every report I can and still I dont understand the data as it changes constantly - The statements they provide are so undetailed that you will never be able to see what they have paid out. If you ask them they tell you to ask the affiliate for a report - what company handles money from one to the other and then just simply has ZERO audit trail of funds. You statement will say locked in balance $1000 and they will pay you &400 IF YOU ASK WHY THEY JUST IGNORE YOU - WORST COMPANY IN THE WORLD! BELOW IS A HALF-ARSED RESPONSE AND THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO FROM THEM! They know nothing, they steal from publishes

Issues
1. I cannot see what you owe us- Pulling reports is a waste of my time as you constantly change the amounts even when they are locked in.
2. The statuses "Posting date" Event date" and "locking date" change the reports so drastically there is no uniformity or logic.
3. What do the above statuses actually mean? Nothing online about them - I cannot pull a report per affiliate because this status constantly changes the values owing, so how do I know which one is true?
4. How can I have "new" statuses over 7 months old? Goes against what you state on your support page. I have statuses of "new" from a February report. How is this possible?
5. You dont pay us out monthly?
6. You constantly change the commission amounts? How can a report for the same month with different statuses regarding posting and locking dates ect be so drastically different?
7. Your balance sheet is a joke, there are no dates or references to the balance sheet amounts and there is no way to track this with transparency from your end.
8. You don't even give us a monthly report or allow us to pull one that is logical, So how am I supposed to track my commissions and where it actually comes from?
9. Things go from "Locked" status to refund?
10. I have tried calling several times and nobody answer and I am unable to leave a message as the option doesnt work.

I tried CJ.com because Google and Facebook advertisement is getting worse and worse in their restrictions. I paid a fee of 1500 Euro per month so they find advertisers for me.
After 3 month I didn't have any real advertisers yet and not one sale on my site. Some days I had 200 registration for day but 90% deinstalled the app immediate after registration. The deal is for 6 month but i will stop pay now as I don't want to spend another 4500 Euro for nothing.

Commission Junction CJ is totally a scam company. Mark my words it's a % scam. I worked for 3 months, literally slogged like anything. I use to get good impressions but didn't get converted into sale. So I thought of experimenting with one software related affiliate link. I forwarded the affiliate link to my 6 friends & told them to purchase the software by using this link & I paid them back. To my surprise it didn't get converted into sale. When I asked CJ about this, they told me that no sale happened from my affiliate link. From that day I stopped doing any kind of affiliate work & any home base job.
The scam work like this, they hire some paid artist & post video on YouTube and other social media platforms. This paid artist tell people how he or she didn't made any money for 3–4 months & after that sales begin to pick up. They will show you sales dashboard & $ awesome money they are making now. Then they will show you how they are sitting besides beach side & money falling from sky. This is totally enticing & people fall for the trap. I would also like to tell you here that even if you are earning money from this, it will not be full money you will be getting for your hard work. But it will be quarter of money for what you have slogged for. Even if you stop working guys, this scam is going to work for lifetime because every year lot of people are going to graduate and they will be looking for this kind of home based job. They will work for few days or month's before giving up. What I mean to say here or draw attention to, is that you are kind of doing free marketing for them, driving traffic to their clients website. Also if you are working for some small company & you didn't make any sale for that month, you are definitely going to get paid by the company. If something happens to you ex COVID while working, the company guys are definitely going to ask about you & pay for your health-care. But in affiliate thing if God forbid something happens to you, then CJ affiliate or any other affiliate program is not going to enquire about your health but instead they will pocket your money & not give your hard earned money to your loved ones. In reality You are just bot for this people driving web traffic to their clients website. So guy's instead of working for this fraud affiliate program, go get a job or start your business.

CJ is a SCAM! They beat me out of $680.00 worth of commissions an lied about sending it to me. They originally stated that a check was sent to my address which i never received. After calling Commission Junction several months to resolve this matter, a supervisor by the name of Ashley then lied again and said the funds were deposited into an account i no longer have open. These people are Scammers... Please stay away!

They didn't make the $300 commission payment that has been waiting for about 2 months, and 3 days ago, they dropped half of the $300 payment from the balance without any explanation. I contacted to complain about this situation. And in return they closed my account and extorted my money.
The reason they closed my account was that it was "below the standards of my website". Standard scam CJ my honest business website has a 10x higher standard.
Don't work with CJ, don't let them steal your money.
CJ is remorseful, CJ is a swindler.

We have been an affiliate with CJ for 15 years and have seen many changes over the years. Affiliates used to have individual CJ advisers who checked in monthly with newsletters of support and frequently sent personal emails. Fast forward to mid February, 2019 when we realized that our account had been disabled. No notice or reasons given. When we contacted support we were told we had violated their Terms. No details. When we asked for clarification, we were accused of something we had not done. Tried to explain but no response. The worst thing is the evaporation of all our data. We have no way of accessing anything in our account. We had been 5 tier earners for 15 years and this is what was done to us. I wonder who is making off with our account balance and all the account balances we have been reading about in the complaints.?

My name is Jenson and I first joined CJ.com in 2004 and things used to be well in those days. (At least I thought so) During those days my method of integration was just pasting the links they provided me. I used to see a lot of clicks, but the conversion was very low. But I thought maybe it's how it works.

Then l started to log the customers' details prior to sending them to the affiliate to make the purchase. I also cross-checked with them to find out if they purchased the product and how useful it was to them. Some of them indeed purchased and shared the proof with me! That's when I started to notice the foul play by CJ.com. They have not tracked many of my sales which resulted in a real loss of income. Because each link I send to my customers was UNIQUE! With is "sid" customized specially for them. So, it's easy to track at my CJ.com end. Customers could not even manipulate the links because the links were masked at my server end using server-side redirects.

Those who stayed with CJ.com from the 2004 days, really know very well what I am speaking about.
CJ.com has not updated the interface or usability really much. They still stick to old methods and what makes me angry is I spend quite a lot of time perfecting my series of websites and maintaining relations with my affiliate partners to give them the best results, and hoping I also benefit from it... but all my efforts went in vain.

My time, effort, health all get affected without results because of this useless affiliate partner CJ.com who does not even care about their publishers!

If you notice closely you will see that they are not transparent at all. A good company will have a transparent customer service platform! Why are they scared to open up such a service? They simply swallow millions of bucks from advertisers! It will only take a fraction of it to maintain it guys.

Now what I follow is to use several other updated platforms and even though it takes some effort I work directly with the affiliate companies using their own in-house affiliate programs.

I still use this bloody platform for finding advertisers! I am attaching proof of communication with an advertiser and CJ.com official for which I still haven't got a reply from the platform nor the advertiser who managed the advertiser account with CJ

One hell of a scam company. Good for nothing! Maybe good for beginners, but when they master the trade, they will definitely move out to the better platforms.

Tip for consumers:
Better to use this as an Affiliate Advertiser Search Engine and talk to the Advertisers directly for a deal.

This is a site for web developers and site owners to use affiliate advertising through. They have a good number of name brand companies that use them to advertise. The way the site works is quite simple.

First you setup an account to receive payments from advertisers. Next you find advertisers who are offering a program through this site and you join that program. Then you the links and banners provided by the advertiser through CJ.com and put them on your site.

Some advertisers pay you for leads or click-through to their site. Others give you a commission of sales. This site is very comprehensive an a real industry standard. Plus if you want to use them for advertising then you can get a lot of targeted audiences. Great tool for web developers.
