“I Had Her Eating Out of My Hand!”

STEVEN H.
2/18/21

Penny, my registered Service Dog, is my best friend and has a "Boy-And-His-Dog" bond with me that will not be broken as long as we both live. At my age of 68, with bipolar disorder, diabetes and vertigo, I need all the help I can get. She was handler trained and a bit self-taught from the get-go. I attribute this to the Jack Russel part in her, as well as her Chihuahua-mix with the added Dachshund. Being a Rescue, Penny was grateful to be in the care of someone who both loved and needed her. When I first met Penny, she was a bit under weight so I set out trying to find her favorite food, something that she would like and want to stick with. I tried many suggestions from family and friends, vets and avid dog owners and dog lovers alike. Finally, I discovered Dr. Marty and his brand, Nature's Blend, from Dr. Marty's Pets. THIS was the ONE! As I started reading the Getting Started guide I opened the first bag in my order and Penny was more than excited which surprised me at first. So I grabbed a handful of the nuggets and held them out for her to try. She looked and them, then looked at me. After trying one she went wild and I thought she might mistake my finger tips for the nuggets! My sweet, benign Penny was no longer the "young lady" at the moment that she had always been! I poured the recommended dose into her clean bowl without mixing in her regular dog food (against recommended guidelines) and she NAILED IT ALL! About three hours later I gave her a half-and-half mix of her regular kibble (chicken with brown rice) and Nature's Blend from Dr. Marty's Pets. Since then I have ordered Penny what I believe she will eat each month, by subscription, and the work is all done for me - except for filling her bowl. And, of course, picking up after she separates the old dog food from the Nature's Blend that seems to disappear when she's finished eating it! "Good girl, Penny! Daddy'll get the rest..."
