Educational Credential Evaluators

Awful company. I received the evaluation report of my French diplomas and was really shocked how they lowered my final grade. I've tried to explain and asked them to be logical but all in vain. They don't answer any question as to how they justify this nonsensical GPA, but send instead some meaningless emails, invariably starting with « Dear Irina,… ». They won't admit their fault and issue a new report, their answer is cancellation and refund. I don't have any time right now to restart the whole process with another evaluation company. My advice: avoid this company, especially if you are graduated from a French university.

I applied to Ece in May 2021 to evaluate my High School certificate from my school in the Caribbean and I must say they were impressive and professional.
Ece website is very customer friendly and direct, got my evaluation in time and they kept their word on delivery. I would highly recommend Ece to anyone.

Do no use this agency. Others will accept scans of your degrees. Do not send them your original degrees, they will still demand that your university sent a copy by 'sealed mail'. This agency will waste vast amounts of your time and money! They charge upfront, unlike others, and once they have charged you they will tell you they cannot proceed without 'sealed documents' from your university.

I would stay aware from this company at all costs. They have convinced many institutions that, in order to accept international credits they need to be "evaluated to American standards," but the standards, at least in my case, are a sham. They copy and paste the transcript (or a translation of one) and devalue the credits…all on the basis of broad generalizations rooted in your country's entire academic performance in the field you are majoring in. Their standards would be akin to a French institution only accepting a fraction of Harvard credits because there are community colleges in the US whose academic standards are less. You'd think that for a $350 evaluation of your hard earned work, they'd have the respect to put some effort into researching and evaluating the actual institution you went to. (To make matters worse, they wouldn't even look at my institutions schedule and curriculum when I offered it up for a second review…and have since refused to answer any emails). Save your money and avoid having to duplicate work you've already paid for and completed and find a university that accepts your credits…or find an evaluation company that will respect them. I would personally recommend Josef Silny & Associates, Inc, who, in my experience, charge half the price and put in double the effort to get you the credits you deserve.

My suggestion is that you guys go with a different agency. The people that do the evaluation don't have any solid knowledge of the educational system in the European Union or South America. For them, a diplomado or Experto Universitario is part of the undergraduate studies and not postgraduate studies. HORRIBLE JOB and ignorance approach...

STAY AWAY FROM IGNORANT APPROACH

I paid $258 CAD for a course-by-course evaluation and received an incorrect assessment. I submitted my official transcript from a Canadian University that contains two columns of grades - the first contains my final "grade" in the course, the second is the class "average" for that course. The incompetent evaluator sent me an entire report with an assessment for the CLASS AVERAGES. None of my personal grades were evaluated. I am in disbelief at the lack of care and vigilance that went into this assessment. If there was any confusion on how to read a Canadian transcript, they could have easily contacted my university to ask for clarity or even compare grades.

I am still awaiting a response after contacting ECE multiple times. I have an absolutely useless Course by Course report that I am unable to submit to graduate schools because my personal grades were never evaluated. I have since purchased another Course by Course evaluation from a different company (another $250 spent), which will prolong my graduate school application process drastically. I am honestly disgusted by this service.

I think this is probably the worst experience I had with any service.
There is the absolute need to choose a delivery address for the hard-copy (which is completely useless in 2020) and it's very costly for people outside of the US (60$ really? Is the queen gonna deliver that?, as if the service is not pricey enough). On top of that, an operator kindly suggested to select a US based delivery address so that the delivery cost was minimal if I did not care about the hard-copy. When I did so, the payment method kept erroring out, but my credit card was still charged, so all my funds were blocked. The cherry on top is the 2 hours long queue to speak with a $#*!ing operator... CONGRATS! Amazing customer service, absolutely disgusted. It should be 0 stars but it doesn't allow it.

I had a very bad experience with ECE evaluation service. They are not properly checking the names in the certificate. Just simply preparing based on the name what we have requested. Simply waste of money. Please go for a good evaluation company.

I went to 2 colleges in Europe. The Irish transcript went fine, the French transcript was completely screwed up. ECE could not accept help from the French institution or from the study abroad agency to align their evaluation with other US institutions, the French university teaching the courses or the US institutions relying on their evaluations. ECE was just all knowing and oppositional. ECE could not correct their mistakes or accept help from others when they made mistakes. They are really a disservice to the community. They delayed my graduation by 6 months and denied me 6 college credits for an entire summer in France studying the French language and culture in which I received an "A".

I do not think they are aware of the evaluation system in Germany. I had to explain how it works, step by step. That means, I almost should do the job I paid for.
Even worse, I think they cannot read with attention since they were not capable of seeing my grades in a huge column called "points".
The equivalence processes does not fit. Many collegues with the same degree received different, accurate reports from WES.
What did ECE answer me? "You may accept the judgments made in ECE evaluation reports, or in WES' reports, as you see fit."
I would do it if I had not paid for them.
My mistake was not having read the reviews before having chosen ECE.
Please, stay away from it. Do Not put your money, your time, and patience away.

Absolutely terrible I was reading the reviews about ECE and I didn't believe what people were saying but ECE it turns out it was true. I was wondering why they finished evaluating my document in less than 3 days because all they do is COPY and PASTE, and seems no effort is been made. I am very disappointed I paid $250 for the Course by Course they don't convert the grades into the U.S. grading system, also they'll give you less CREDIT. And they gave me low GPA than the school have gave me. I hope I get that $250 back.
Time waster, spend money, copy and paste, and scams.

I am not satisfied with the evaluation they've made for me. I earned a license degree in 3 years of college which is the equivalent of a us bachelor's degree. The ECE has evaluated it as associate. How's that possible?

I'm so disappointed with this company name ECE. I sent my original papers a month ago because of the pandemic schools right now are closed. I didn't have another option than to send them my originals. They promised they will send them back with not problems. Until now I haven't received my Original papers. Now they are blaming the USPS for the package missing. USPS never received a package. Label was created but ECE never send anything. Now they don't want to answer the phones and are not taking any responsibility for the missing paper. I dont recomend or trust this company with important papers.

I am a dentist in my country, I got back my transcripts and the only class i can transfer is physiology, because the rest don't meet the credits at all. They don't really go through the process of actually evaluating transcripts from another country

They do not understand that a 3 and a 4 year degree can lead to the same outcomes in different countries and that in Germany many degrees are only 3 years and qualify you for a master's. Other agencies acknowledge this situation and qualify you for a master's degree.

I received a course by course evaluation. ECE were very slow producing it and when it finally arrived it was full of errors. ECE seemed to have very little idea about education equivalencies in the UK and did not ask for clarification. For example, as part of my bachelor's degree I completed an exchange year under ERASMUS. ECE recorded NO CREDITS for this year, wiping out a whole year of study which was completely wrong as it was an integral part of my degree course. I do not understand why they did not ask the institution if they were not sure how things were handled/graded. Another example was my law school credentials. I finished law school with a very high distinction from one of the top institutions in the UK. But ECE did not understand how my courses were graded or the weight given to each course and without asking the law school about it they just made their own unilateral decision about the manner of grading and they got it wrong. I had to go back to ECE to get the evaluation re-done. To be fair they did do it for free but I never got an apology and they still refused to correct the mistake as to my law school results and it wasted a lot of precious time when I was making applications. At least one deadline was missed. I also really hate that they have no one available to reach by phone. Everything is done by text service. It is a terrible service and very expensive for what it is. Wish I had gone elsewhere.

I do not recommend this company for university degree evaluation "International Education Research Foundation, Inc."

ECE report was easy to start, but quickly became a real nightmare. The report was completely subjetive and was not accurate. I tried to reach out, prove with offcial papers but they were unflexible and cruel. I almost lost my job, but thanks to WES report and accurracy I didnt. Friends advice: Dont go with ECE!

This review is not meant to be malicious, but only an honest feedback of my experience, which caused me a lot of heartache. For anyone who is considering using ECE, if you have a three (3) year bachelor degree obtained from Europe or any other region, DO NOT use this organization.

Please note that they do not take into consideration the different educational systems that exist across the world and they will evaluate your degree without seeking more information from you, in order for them to make an informed and fair assessment. When I received my evaluation, I was devastated. Not only did they lower my GPA significantly, but they also evaluated my Bachelor Degree as a 3 year undergraduate study. I reached out to them and explained in detail (went back to high school) the background of my education and asked them to reconsider. Their response was cold and rigid. It felt like a robot was responding to my email. At that point, I had already paid around $200 for that service. I did not want to lose any more time with them, so I went elsewhere.

As I mentioned above, I quickly went back to NACES (there are 18 other members) and picked out another evaluation service. That other service asked me for my high school education and official certificate and for my bachelor degree and diploma. They asked me questions and were able to make an informed assessment. The result was a fair evaluation of my education credentials, which they evaluated as a bachelor degree.

Remember that you have studied for years and you worked hard for it. You deserve to get evaluated by a service who is personable, who asks you questions, and make the effort to check your educational history, in order to give you a fair evaluation.

This is not only about money (because it is expensive) and time lost; it is about fairness. ECE does not really seem to understand or comprehend that education systems are different throughout the world. Go and read other reviews of ECE and you will realize that a lot of people are complaining about this same issue.

It is important that you get fair credit for your hard work. Do not settle for anything less. You deserve fairness. Spend your money elsewhere, your dollar will go a long way. The $200 I spend with ECE was a waste and their evaluation went straight to the shredder, with no regrets.

I hope someone in NACES reads these reviews and raise the issue to their board. ECE needs to be re-evaluated for transparency and their understanding/process of evaluations. I am going to be looking at ways to raise this with NACES one way or the

P.S. Do not be influenced by ECE's years of "experience" and nice website (their website is attractive and inspires confidence and they have been operating since 1980), that's how they got me.

Update: Responding to Billie M: Evaluators at ECE need to be more proactive with their customers, and not just hide behind the customer service team who do not know or do not have the right to answer some important questions. I do not fault them because this is what they are paid to do. They were nice but their responses were very limited. It reminded me of the bureaucracy in the government. Sure, it is more work for the evaluators to communicate directly and promptly, and they may need some training to do it, but it's important. I am sure it is a big operation and what not, but you really need to work on that part of the process. The other NACES member I worked with (who was also expensive) were amazing in their communication. I did not even go through a "customer service representative".

Institutions rely on you AND on other evaluation services to provide these reports. They DO NOT ONLY rely on you. Don't forget that you are not the only players in the field. There is plenty of competition around you.

I know applicants receive individualized report by trained evaluators. The package I received was organized and looked nice. But I don't think it was a thoroughly researched evaluation, not at all--because of the reasons I mentioned before.

You need to revisit the way you do your evaluations. Seriously. It will catch up to your reputation that you have built over the years. It happens all the time to successful businesses. Reputation is not enough. You can not keep riding it forever. There is a missing link there. Fix it.

Most unprofessional University Credit Evaluating Agency that has ever existed in the United States!. The Customer Call and Customer Chat Support is equally rude and extremely unprofessional.

They do a wrong evaluation and suck your money especially if you are an international student. Their Customer support even has the guts to laugh out loud during the chat and they disconnect at that very moment without addressing and resolving the issue.

IF YOU ARE AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WANTING TO TAKE UP HIGHER EDUCATION AT A US UNIVERSITY THEN NEVER WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON ECE.

Never Waste Your Time and Precious Money on ECE. Go for WES!

ECE doesn't have a fair equivalence system in place. They have their own internal rating system that isn't based on the ISCED/International regulations. My five years of university are defined as a level 7 from ISCED classification (Master level). ECE equivalence was reporting an Associate degree only. I was shocked! After sending them all the proof and official documentations they didn't want to correct their equivalence report. I asked and received a full refund. Save your energy and look for another provider!

I won't recommend ECE for getting your evaluation done. The evaluators are not at all knowledgable. They can't even differentiate between original and photocopied transcripts. Even though, I have sent my original transcripts and original statement of marks (includes the hologram and stamp from university), they had said those are photocopies and wouldn't go further. After multiple attempts to reach them and explain about the documents, I have sent, They did not respond and wasted more than a month keeping my documents with them. When I finally realized they are not working or unfit, I have asked to send back my originals along with refund. They have even delayed this and wouldn't pay back 50$ for processing fee. I have no clue if the evaluators are even trained for. Kept harassing to send more docs even though I have sent every original that I have. Complete waste of time and money. Seriously, there are better services out there.
