People are generally dubious that you can save money by switching energy suppliers. But a year ago I switched from one of the big 6 to Extra Energy. Their site suggested I would save £290 a year. I ACTUALLY SAVED £320 over my previous supplier. Their customer service is much better too.
Extremely bad service, I started with them two and a half months ago and they still didn't come to install the credit gas meter yet, but they are charging me for gas (which I am actually still getting from the old provider). Over a month of back and forth emails and they're still incapable of sorting the situation. STAY AWAY!

Was with Extra Energy from March 2016 to 14th Feb 2017 paid them by direct debit had two bills from them during this period, they cancelled both after we Ieft them so we have a £742 credit with them but no bill, nightmare to call them, emails sometimes answered in two weeks but answer not generally helpful 0fgem now involved 6 weeks later Extra Energy still hasn't completed any of the resolutions, guess it will be legal action soon to get our estimated over payment returned!

I have just had a message about my account that I no longer have got I left them in July 2017 which I got a final bill and I payed it. To day Tuesday 23/01/2018 I got a message from them so I made a phone call to them they said I owed 55p but I told them I had a final bill and have paid it IN FULL so he said he will try to cancel.it what is this world coming to?
Extra Energy have been regularly hauled over the coals by Radio 4's 'You and Yours' and always promise improvement. Don't believe it. If you are happy to drive your meter readings and billing, and for your direct debit to be increased each billing cycle, then go for it. Otherwise try OVO- a much better website and service. I have now been waiting 5 weeks for a refund of my near £300 overpayment ( due to D. D. increases). Rand after the statutory 21 days and was told 'there is a technical fault our end and we do not know when we will be able to process your refund'. Utter garbage, I protested and mentioned legalities and the Radio 4 interviews, and they couldn't explain the fault. Have rung again and been told the refund is going through and will take 21 WORKING days to process! Other reviewers say they have waited months. Could they cling on to my hard-earned any harder?
