“As a member of staff on this site, I'd have to say...”

As a member of staff on this site, I'd have to say that it's a pretty enjoyable place to be as a member or just a visitor. We have recently changed the japanese artist rule to allow some western artists in as an exception. We also do not allow REAL child porn. Or REAL bestiality. It's not rocket science. Contrary to what some other reviewers say, it's really a great site, and I'm not just saying that because I work there.

Besides terrible mods and low quality, a lot of the images on that site needs to get looked into by the FBI, as most of the content on there is child abuse content.

Okay, there have been problems with the changes they made. They removed "cute" and "sexy" from the tags list and almost of Mike Inel's pictures (who is a Filipino anime artist from the Philippines) have been removed from their database. All the artists' race they been having are Japanese. Look at this way, I don't think Toweringman is Japanese. Even though the artist's artwork are still there, why even posting it? Sooner or later, the mods will delete it again. Everything else is Pro-Japanese, but it's still a par site to check out some work from Pixiv's members. I don't recommend this site that much, it's just that the mods are never going to listen.

I liked the site more before I found how racist it was. Not only that, but they contradict themselves and they think they can decide a person's race by judging their art. I actually posted art of a japanese artist but it was flagged as "off topic" because they didn't feel the quality was 'japanese'. What does that even mean? Define that, because not every japanese person draws the same.

******* is the current number of lolicon posted images on Gelbooru.com even though it is "not allowed". They say they down allow REAL beastiality, i would like to know what REAL means. Beastiality currently has about 8917 posts, sure not as much as "Loli". Is a dog/canine haveing sexual relationship with a woman not REAL? Cause i seen quite alot.

And i had put up a couple of art from a mexican whom does fantastic Anime and manga artwork(both copywritten and original) and they were deleted cause it was "off topic". According to a Mod it was because he isn't Japanese...

I uploaded multiple images of this really talented artist I liked, and they all got deleted within minutes because the artist was not Japanese. How racist do you have to be? Here's what I put up on the forum and got deleted:

"Alright, I see a flaw in the terms of use. So, if the artist is western, but the person that uploaded the artwork got it from a japanese website like pixiv instead of deviantART, then what does that make him? Because he also has a pixiv account. I think it's pretty racist to judge a very good artist by his ethnicity and not upload his works just because he's not from Japan. What if the artist was Japanese but lives in Hawaii? Is he still considered non-Japanese?"

I was a huge fan of gelbooru.com for a long time. They have a lot of good posts, but the moderators are terrible. There are always complaints about the terms of service and the mods tell everyone to shut up about it, yet it's their fault that everyone is complaining. I posted a very good picture and it was taken down because it was not by a japanese artist. This rule I do not agree with at all because the race of the artist does not affect it's outcome. I was upset that it was taken down so I went to check the terms of service and the forums. When I saw that there are many pictures that the mods have missed, I opened up a forum topic about it. Their terms of service say that child pornography is not allowed, yet they have over ******* loli tagged photos and the number is increasing. Their terms of service says no beastiality is allowed, yet there are over 3000 photos tagged beastiality. Yes, it even says the word that is banned "beastiality." Those pictures have been let through without any enforcement whatsoever and the only arguement they have is that they don't check everything, only what they see comes up whenever they get on. My main problem with this is how poorly this site is moderated. If there are over ******* pictures that violate the terms of service, why do they leave them up still? The image is much more important than who or what race the author is. I gave this arguement to them and a moderator locked the forum and banned my account to prevent me from furthering my arguement. For the reason of how poorly this site is run, I would not recommend anyone to ever use it. You could find better pics by just searching google where the author won't matter.

Gelbooru is just like Danbooru in every aspect. It's a broad image database that allows users to find images based on tags, pools, etc. The main difference is that you don't have to pay to view certain images. On Danbooru, these images won't even appear unless you buy a premium account. Most (and I can't stress this enough) of the material on the site is adult oriented. It's a wonderful site since everything is free and you can find images by using the search feature to look up multiple *******@Akemi M. -
First of all, the U.S. Child Online Protection Act is currently unenforced because it violates free speech.

Secondly, I'm a little concerned about your "Even though I use the site" and "I just don't like how the site is run" comments. You lose credibility by saying you go to the site and then preach about how awful you think it is. Common sense would dictate, if you don't like how a website is run, don't use it.

Lastly, please don't mislead people about the number of lolicon images there. No, it is not a "Mostly Lolicon Image Search Engine." Lolicon images infact make up only a tiny percentage of of their database. I don't know where you got 600,000 from, seeing as you can actually type in the tag and see how many images there are.

It really is a brilliant website if you're into hentai. The images are always high quality, there is no over-compressed material on there. If you're a fan of hentai, this is a great place for you. It ranges from loli to futanari, from yuri to yaoi, etc.

The variety is brilliant and the numbers keep rising as users upload everything themselves. As mentioned by others, unlike numerous other websites, this one does not require you to pay, or even to sign up!

If you're not into this kind of thing, then I have no idea how you would wind up being on that website anyway. Just avoid it if you do not like it. Although there is also something for those who simply enjoy anime and manga, as there is some incredible fan-art and some high-quality original art. If you're looking for these, make sure you are prepared to run into pics of chicks with $#*!s and whatnot.

Overall, it's perfect for those into hentai. For those who are not, well... avoid it. It's kind of like: a person not interested in anything to do with the economy or business would not visit economy.com, etc. I highly recommend this site as one of the best places for hentai on the whole world wide web.

This site is fantastic if you're looking for a hentai fix or sources for anime or Japanese-related images. Gelbooru has an active community and is run by webmasters who actually care to protect their users and keep them coming back. The image base is massive and very diverse. The tag search is user-generated and now has a wiki (which is also user-generated) so you know what you're about to search for or can get more information about what you're looking at. Most of the material is highly pornographic and the addition of any material is allowed, so long as it has SOMETHING to with anime or japanese culture. While lolicon/shotacon images are allowed on the site, real child pornography is taken very seriously by the users and webmasters, and more action than image deletion will be taken by them.

I use this site every day and don't have a single problem with it. I've never been attacked by viruses and if there is a genre of image I don't want to see, I can use the blacklist feature and never see it again, even if I forgot to mark it off in the tag search bar. There is not purposefully any more of one type of material than another on the site. Users post what users want. Pictures are not deleted because of bias, only if they are part of a doujinshi (which you can then search for on TheDoujin.com linked to Gelbooru.com) or if it has nothing to do with Japan or anime.

This site is trustworthy, but definitely not for children. It is an adult site with adult themes and adult users.

PARENTS?! Dont let Websites seemingly innocent home page fool you. This site is f-ed up. Even though I use the site, It is a Mostly Lolicon Image Search Engine that has over 600,000 images. At last check the site is worth over 4 Million US Dollors(which shocked the HELL outta me).

Parents Alert: The filters are not really maintained. Plus the only way to accessd the filter is to click "My Account" and look for it. Even then, there is no promissing that it will be useful. Its really quite sad. But worst of all, it doesnt follow the U.S. Child Online Protection Act, even though the site is in the USA. There is no thingy that ask if your over 18 or not, NOTHING! Its just not safe. It can't be picked up on automatic content restricting software unless you know what the hell "Hentai" and "Lolicon" are.

I just don't like how the site is run. It breaks narlty every law in the USA, UK, and Japan. FILTER IT PARENTS!
