We bought a Winnebago 26T from General RV. Our sales rep was tenacious and worked hard to make the sale happen that day. We had already ordered one and stopped by to see one in person. It was awesome but didn't have some of the options we wanted. He got them and at the same sale price we negotiated at another dealer. After the sale the options were installed as promised (auto-level and theater seating). Granted we did have minor issues with the seats but another General RV dealer stepped up and made it happen.

Service after the sale is NONEXISTENT. Try to call and make a service appointment before you buy from these people. Read the low reviews before trusting these people or you will regret it as I do. I am making payments on a camper I cannot use! My next call will be to a lawyer in Lynchburg for a consult on RV Lemon Law.

THE WORSE RV LIARS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Last week I bought a $400,000 diesel RV from these fools. I paid a $10,000 non-refundable deposit and signed the paperwork via Docu-Sign listing the new 23' Entegra Cornerstone I bought. My conversation with the online person and then her sales manager took a few hours to complete the deal. They told me to book my flight to Chicago and pick up within 7 days. I booked a flight with United and when I was about to redeem a CD to pay for it, I got a call saying they made a mistake and it was really $600,000. They asked me if I wanted to pay $200,000 more? I should have known what kind of a place this was when the first thing the sales manager said to me when he called, was "How about Ceramic Coating"? That was a big red flag because Ceramic Coating is a big scam. THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERVICE GENERAL RV CENTER!

"The definition of a NIGHTMARE! "

Please read before considering General RV.

We purchased a 2021 Fleetwood Discovery in Sept. Of 2020. We did a walk thru, several concerns and we were told all items would be repaired or replaced at our first service. Our biggest concern was a crushed tile in front of the refrigerator "Oh, no problem, we will replace that at the first service, you have extra tiles in your storage area. Other parts on order. Take your motor home and have fun. First service comes we are then told we need to take the motor home back to the factory in Indiana to get the tile repaired. Yes, back to the factory. We were also told the other replacement parts that were ordered at delivery were not ordered and we would have to come back 4 days in service nothing done. We return again and only got one item repaired, a missing blind. All other items still not completed. Third visit, 5 days, nothing, nothing done again.
We called the Operation Manager (Trae), no return call, we called the body shop manager, no return call, we called the General RV corporate headquarters 3 times and finally a promise on the third call that someone from the Dover store will call within 48 hours. 72 hour plus and no call. Another call, now the 4th to Corporate and we do, 3 days later, get a call from the Drew service manager at the Tampa Store.
He did apologize for the poor service, poor communication and explained that his service writers were under pressure and that was the reason they made up the untrue stories we were told. The additional expenses we have, motels, food, RV park reservations, etc, since we are fulltime, were to be expected according to him. His only resolution was for US to call the Rev Group and see who they would recommend to go to get our issues resolved as he did not have the confidence that they would make the repairs. Yes, take it elsewhere... In other words the only reason for the call was to get rid of us!
This is a short version in hopes others will read this and avoid General RV at all costs!
The entire story would take pages and is truly unbelievable.

RUN FOR THE HILLS... If I could give zero stars I would. We purchased our RV from General RV at the Trade show on February 18th - they were VERY accommodating at that time because they were making a sale. Since then, it's been like pulling teeth to get a return call. We have still not taken possession of our RV due to MANY delays and inadequacies on their end of things. After purchase, we went to the dealership in Huntley, IL to do another walk through and take some measurements. We had previously called and spoken to Karen, in the parts department, because we decided that we may want to add a dishwasher - this was about a week before we arrived at their location. We never received a call stating any prices. When we stopped by the parts department and spoke to Karen, she had no recollection of the conversation until about 5 minutes later to which she still had no pricing for us. At this time we also requested pricing to add roll out shelving. Again, no phone call back. We made numerous attempts to contact them and no return phone call. We then had to call the sales person, who was from out of state, to get anyone to call us back. In the meantime, I had left a message for Bizmark, the sales manager one week prior to calling our salesman. I had to threaten cancelling our order to get a phone call back. Then Bizmark calls and doesn't even apologize for not returning my phone call a week ago, instead, tells me he just got my message and was calling me back. To which I called him out on that and told him he only called me because he got his butt reamed by the sales agent. I could go on and on about this nightmare but there wouldn't be enough room to do so. Unfortunately, we are unable to back out of our contract, because we would. GO ELSEWHERE to buy your RV. We are still waiting for updates as to when they will have the issues with our RV fixed and ready for delivery. BTW, there was a very noticeable dent in the rear end of the 5th wheel and I would have thought they would have brought such a thing to our attention, but no, we had to advise them of this issue. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

We bought a brand new 2023 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 36U on November 30,2022. I should have known that General RV is a questionable dealership when the finance guy pushed the "magical paint coating" on me, I said "no" and when I showed up to pick the RV up, it was done anyway and $7K added to the invoice. He claimed I said I wanted it. I clearly told him in the phone I did not. He said too late, it's done. I should have walked. Stupid of me.

It gets much, much worse. The walk through produced a punch list with half a dozen small items but they couldn't get me back in for 4 months to fix them. Should have walked then as well. Stupid me.

Then I get home and within a week, the inverter fails (on a brand new rig!). General RV has no advice. I call Tiffin many, many times and finally find an electrician that walks me through it and confirms, bad inverter.

On our first (and still only camping trip (8 months after purchase) the defective Lippert jack legs broke. One snapped off, and the other stuck in the dirt. I spent the weekend trying to fix it as General RV and Tiffin neither offered a morsel of help.

I dropped it off on 4/2/23 for the warranty repairs and the two new major problems. That was 3.5 months ago. It's still not repaired.

At first, they forgot they had it. Yes, the first idiot service "concierge", Richard, that I had forgot it was there. Then when I called raising hell, he called me back 2 days later to tell me it was ready for pickup. Two days after that, as I was about to do the 5 hour drive to pick it up, he lives a voice mail saying the parts on still on order. Huh? I call Richard, the "concierge", and he didn't remember talking to me 2 days earlier. That was May.

Now two months later, I learn that the jacks were not ordered from Lippert until 7/12, more than 14 weeks after the RV was dropped off. The other parts also didn't get ordered for months.

This dealer is the worst. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. DO NOT GET YOUR RV SERVICED BY THEM. A clueless company that does not care about their customers.

We have used their service dept with great experiences. There isn’t a General RV in our city. I have also purchased from their store. They have a great selection and reasonable pricing.
