“Don't Buy or Sell from This Company”

Phil R.
7/17/16

They have an "F" better Business rating because of no response to hundreds of complaints. I personally ordered a card from them in early May. When it arrived, it had a ZERO balance instead of the supposed $100 balance. When I called to somebody named "Benjamin", I was told it would be quickly rectified. Two months later, still no refund. I had to put a hold on my credit card. I cannot prove this, but it seems obvious this very small company has big financial problems with very little stock for sale. They have no money to pay back bad gift cards to customers and either don't ever give refunds or take months and months. This is the worst gift card company I have dealt with. Period. For comparison, the best is Cardpool, who rarely makes errors and when it does quickly gives refunds. In summary Giftcardrescue.com is pathetic. I suspect they won't be in business very long and you do not want to be left holding the bag. I have no affiliation with any gift card company and as such my review is based on my honest experiences and observations.

I order 8 gift cards from them and one of them was supposed to have $258 on it and had a zero balance when I went to use it. I called Gift Card Rescue right away and they made me fill out a bunch of forms and said it would take 10 business days to review. I never heard back from them. I called and email about 4- 5 times each over a 4 week period and they would never respond. I finally disputed the charge for that one card on my credit card. Of course they lost as they did not respond to VISA either. They then called me to say I broke their rules when disputing this situation. I explained to them in detail why I did that as a last report and they responded by saying I can no longer buy cards from them. Pathetic.

One person, maybe the owner answers the phone, says "not here leave a message" (I left 2) thats it. Emailed on several occasions after opening an account 7-10 days ago figuring plan ahead, plenty of time for them to check the account info and time to then purchase gift card(s) to make to make a purchase for Columbus Day Sale. Nope. No one there nor has there been a response to email either. Shark Tank really? You need to put your money where your mouth is. You talk the talk but don't stand behind the products your investing in. You want a part of the action but you didn't help this guy out on the particulars. Either that or maybe he's taking too much out of the business and not hiring a staff to answer phones to place orders. Either way he's "tanking"!

Horrible website. Dangles you with a highly discounted gift card. Makes you sign up. Says that you are ineligible to buy electronic gift cards. WTF

I purchased a $202.23 Lowes gift card from GiftCardRescue.com (GCR) on December 11,2015. I placed an online order at Lowes.com on Jan 16,2016 that left a remaining balance on the card of $138.21. This balance was last confirmed by Lowes in May 2016.

In February 2016, Lowe's made a policy change that required all Merchandise cards to only be usable within the brick and mortar stores going forward and required the physical gift card be used. It took two months of back and forth discussions with representatives of Lowe's at their 800 number, by email and with numerous layers of management within my local store to determine that this policy change had occurred.

After determining this, I followed up with GCR by email on March 19 asking about the physical gift card to which I received the following response on March 28th:
"David, We are aware of the policy change. Unfortunately, we were not made aware until after the change had taken place. However, we have taken steps to rectify the situation. We can ship the physical card out to you so that you are able to redeem the card in stores..."

My response on March 29,2016 was:
"It would be very helpful if you are able to mail me the physical card..."

I then had to follow up again on April 12,2016 due to lack of response. This email chain to date was using the Contact Us mechanism within the GCR website. After still not receiving a response into early May, I sent an additional email directly to their customer service address asking for an update to which I received the following response on May 12th:
"We truly apologize for the experience you are having with your order M4UQ. Your request has been received outside of our 24 hour refund period. A supervisor must review your request. Any refunds offered will be applied to the GiftCardRescue.com account associated with this order. Attached is your refund request form. Please complete the refund request form and send it to the information below. Once your documents are received we will pass this along to our supervisor. You should be updated with within 7-14 business days after your documents have been received."

It is important to note that I have never once asked for a refund... I only asked for the actual card that I had already purchased and was told by GCR was available. I repeated this request in my response but played along and filled out the refund request form, submitted it along with over a dozen other documents as evidence on the same day of May 12th.

On May 17th I was asked to fill out another different refund request form which I again played along and submitted same day.

Again due to lack of response I asked for an update on June 9th and was then told that my request was denied due to being outside of the refund period with no response to the original request for the return of the gift card.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will likely be filing a small claim case against them.

The first gift card I sent GiftCardRescue.com was in their hands on 6/6. They CLAIMED they mailed me a check 6/20. I received the check DATED 7/1.

Now we move onto the 2nd gift card: It was in their hands 6/19, they CLAIMED they mailed the check 6/30, received it today dated 7/14. Again, nearly a month after they have my gift cards they finally mail my check!

Their website claims all orders are processed and checks mailed out within 2 days - B. S.! I have one more order out with them, when or if it finally arrives, I will NEVER do business with them again! By my past experiences with them, I am going to take a wild guess and we will see how close I get... My last order with them was in their hands 6/30, they CLAIM to have mailed my check 7/6 - I am guessing they will probably actually mail it around 7/25 - 8/1

Every time I email them the INSIST they mailed the check and it takes 14 mailing days for it to get here FIRST class from Cali! While I can fully understand delays can happen, WHY LIE about it? I can do business with someone who just gets behind once in a while, but I cant do business with liars. It wasnt until AFTER I received my first check and emailed them AGAIN asking why they lied to me, did they finally say "Sorry there were delays"... thats it, thats all they said! SELLER/BUYER BEWARE!

This company is a joke. I wanted to sell to them a $500 gift card that I had no use for. They were going to pay me $325 for it. I sent it in and they received it on a Monday (per USPS delivery confirmation). Their website claims they mail out payment within 48 hours of receipt of gift card. Wednesdays rolls around and they email asking for me to sign some forms to confirm I obtained this gift card legally, they wanted a copy of my driver's license, plus they wanted me to submit to them a copy of the receipt showing proof of purchase for the gift card. How can I do that considering this was a gift? I provided everything else except the receipt (since I don't have one, which I explained to them). I don't hear from them for days even after sending several emails asking for the status of my order. The next Monday rolls around and after still not hearing anything I call their customer service, were I'm told they cannot buy my gift card since I cannot provide them documentation supporting the proof of purchase. If I would have known that was required, I wouldn't have bothered sending it in to begin with! Then the kicker is that they want me to send them a self-addressed, postage paid return envelope to get my $500 gift card back! This has been a complete waste of my time and money, considering I had to pay to ship my gift card there in the first place, now I have to pay to get it back. Beware of this company, they are a complete scam! No where on their website does it state they may require documentation supporting proof of purchase. It's absurd to require this, these are GIFT cards after all.
