“Geek2Geek has the most fake profiles I've experienced”

This site is chock full of fake profiles/bots. I could tell the responses were automated because they didn't really respond to what I was saying but rather taking words I've said and crudely inserting them in some script. One hilarious example is me introducing myself and telling them my name and the reply mentioned me by name but my name was in all caps each time it mentioned my name. Then those messages just mysteriously disappeared the next day as if they didn't exist. Maybe they realized the whole thing glitched out. I know people love calling dating sites "scams" but this one is truly a big scam.

Tip for consumers:
Just don't use this site. The profiles are either fake or people have abandoned them. I've had far better luck on Reddit and it's free.

Bots, scams, customer service barely replies and when they do they scam you, auto renew magically turns itself on just in time for renewal each month even when you turn it off. Pretty sure every account is fake or is a scam. Don't give these bastards a dime of your money.

Don't give these bastards any of your money

The site uses fake profiles to induce you into buying a subscription. Lots of flirts until you actually pay for a month, and then all of those flirters ignore you.

Another red flag on this site: Mastercard no longer accepts payments from gk2gk. I guess Mastercard had to refund one too many so-called "automatic payments."

I work late nights and saw an add for this site. I signed up and paid for the 1 Month membership. After a few days I noticed that there isn't sign of any life on here. So thinking that "okay I paid for just one month that would be the end" no i was charged for another month and when I emailed to say I wanted a refund, I was told that I did not hit the auto renewal button. I'm pissed and now theirs nothing I can do about it.

Tip for consumers:
My advice, stay away from this site. It looks enticing but I promise you there is nothing here

No one responds to your messages. When you cancel and it's coming time for subscription renewal, someone magically sends you a flirt or favorites you. It's a scam to intise you to pay for the ability to send and receive messages... no one ever responds to messages.

I disable my renew auto subscription on this site a few days before the renew comes (Jan 2nd, 2020), after realizing all the negativity feedback people are talking about. But just recently, that site auto renew themselves after I disable it back in December 25 (2019). I tried to contact them via phone number that was given to my bank, and it automatically goes to voice mail. Now I'm doing my best to fight this with my bank about this.

I wish I can give this site negative star rating, but looks like site jabber is going to limit me at one.

Yeah I do not recommend this site. Not many options in my area, and I know that is not accurate. I happen to know a few geeky girls in my area, they just would never use this site... so why should I? I could stand a better chance looking for a gaming girlfriend by doing what I do best... GAME.

By the way, if you are looking to cancel a subscription before it gets way out of hand, use this "hidden" link.

http://www.gk2gk.com/EditSettings.do

It's carefully tucked away at the bottom, but I am not sure the site will even give you an outright link to this page anywhere else. Kinda shady there.

I thought OKCupid was bad... hah.

So I figured I'd try out geek2geek since I belong to 2 other dating sites and why not, right? Well I guessed wrong. I tried the trial period and canceled well before the trial ended. Once the time was up I was suddenly charged for another month. I tried to contact customer support but they basically told me to go F myself. With this i am forced to write out this review and file a complaint with the BBB. Don't use the service.

I do not have as many hands as is necessary to flip this site the number of birds it deserves. While I cannot be 100% positive, I'm convinced that I interacted exclusively with fake profiles, who would "send a flirt" back to me in order for me to pull the trigger on a paid subscription. After I had subscribed I would never hear from them again, until my subscription had ended and they would send another flirt. For whatever reason, I said "what the heck" and renewed it, only for more radio silence. And THEN this site's ridiculous autorenewal, which I repeatedly cancelled, decided NOT to stay cancelled and renewed me for yet another month of attempted emotional swindling. Now I'm out, out for good, out forever. Ciao! :)

So I decided to pay for the trial as I have tried other dating sites and though why not. So I spent some time and tried it out with no luck as it's just the same as every other site but draws you in by calling it geek and yet has a horrible site. So I canceled the subscription but then get billed for recently for it at full price. The customer service basically told me to go F#ck myself since I don't have records of the cancelation email. Most companies understand that sometimes these emails get lost or in my experience never get sent. So this is why they get 1 star. Bad site, bad customer service and was not what I expected at all from a site stating geek in the name.

I was not pleased with their service, when contacting them to cancel it took over a week and me contacting them 3 times to request cancel and account deletion. Nearly 2 months later after already having email confirmation that my account was deleted they charge me 80usd for a service i had explicitly ended and are denying any refunds even thouhg i had contacted them the day they decided to charge me again and had not used their service in nearly 2 full months. I have gone through paypal to try and get the money back they charged/stole from me but Geek2geek have not returned contact to paypal investigation... geek2geek is shameful scam company.

All bad business and false charges aside the service they provide is far from good or on par with other dating sites. Even me being in big city toronto i noticed they were presenting unused 3 year old profiles as recent as their site has such little activity

I got conned into paying what I thought would be a one-time payment, the "introductory discount." Thankfully I only paid for a month. They ended up putting me on a subscription, which you can't cancel through the website (they direct you to cancel it through whatever means you used to pay for it, in my case PayPal), at full price. I decided to buy the subscription after receiving "flirts," a way to show interest without messaging, since you have to pay for that. I paid for the "Gold" membership, since that lets "Free" members send you messages without having to pay for it themselves. One week in, no messages, despite casting my net over 1,000 miles, just to see if I'd get a response. Instead, I got another "flirt," from someone I'd already messaged, who should have been able to message me back freely.
All flirts I got said the same thing: "Yes. I am interested, send me a message."
Have instructed PayPal to discontinue automatic payments for this company, but also sent an email requesting that future payments to the company be denied, just in case they try to say I paid for more of their "services," especially after seeing the torrents of negative reviews here.
Hopefully that's the end of it; we'll see. Maybe I can update later.

Absolute scam, same people for the 3 months I signed up. A month later I disabled auto renew, even got the confirmation email. Surprise this morning, $80 gone from Paypal.
No way to contact them for support. My fault for not googling them first. I could have saved $80. I think once I get that back I will contact Paypal and try to get the original $80 back. F this company ripping people off.

First off, this could have been a seriously great idea. Because frankly putting people together who generally like the same things isn't a bad way to go. If someone gave it two seconds of thought, it could have been great. First off, there is no algorithm or matching of someone other than... Well frankly I don't know because not one person that I was looking for actually met any of the actual match input answers that I put in. Second... Geek is such a brought spectra... Are you a Sci Fi nerd, are you into comic books, do you like movies, are you a book worm, DND expert, gamer? You CAN put that into your profile and it takes several days to get approved, but you can also leave it blank. Which means that all the people that have been contacting me have no profile, no picture and I don't know a thing about them. I know they're kinda creepy, that's what I know. This is not a safe website, it's not a helpful website, I highly doubt it has any actual success. Don't waste your money on this thing, you'll have more success on Match.com and there are some serious weirdos on that one too.

Tip for consumers:
Seriously look at the way it's set up before you subscribe. Don't give them any money.

Okay so I saw an add for this site and thought this is different might be able to find a girl who's more understanding when it comes to video games and what not. The first red flag should have been this site ends in. Co not. Com. Typical Bait and switch or lure tactics. Fake profiles sending you flirts, winks, messages, or whatever which you can only reply to as flirts. Lure you in hey lets try s subscription to have more meaningful conversation. BIG MISTAKE. DO NOT USE THIS SITE OR Subscribe. Soon as you do and send messages the flirts stop coming in and never get any responses from anyone. Want to cancel your account? They got you. There is no way to cancel threw the web site. Want to Disable the auto renew on your membership? They got you again. I tried several times to disable the auto renew feature so I would not be charged, everytime i disable it and click on save guess what the site auto switched it back on so there is no way to disable auto renew. I should have read reviews first. This place needs totally removed from the web, black ball this site. DO NOT USE, DON'T EVEN CREATE PROFILE

Okay so first of all i want to explain how this bastards work, they make this profiles from unauthorized people and input pictures of random people to make the feel or vibes hit or so the environment can feel as it was real. So pretty much what happens here is that you vuild your profile, i mainly got this because im into tech and gaming or whatever i am very nerdy myself but also outgoing so i wanted to make friends because of Covid-19 alot of people changed and you see who really is your friend and who is not, anyways so I'm here trying new horizons and they gave a coupon so you can use it for 2.99 per month and omg i fell for it. I never actually tried to keep going month by month. Since i just wanted to test it out for 3 months or 1 month trial whatever they offered. So after that i made sure like 100% sure of myself that my credit card and auto renewal was off, well my bank called me and they asked me if i made a payment to this site for an amount of 70.00 dollars! 70.00! Wtf!? Maybe for a rich guy it's nothing but i $#*!ing work! I work my $#*! off for me to have my own momey to be able to buy productive items, groceries, hygiene items etc! But this is a complete bluff, this $#*!es replied my email i sent them telling them i never made auto renewal on. They said that now its off. I'm like "wtf?" This $#*!ers man. I swear to God that this outrageous! I can't believe they steal money this way. I'm staying away from any type of dating sites. I will stick to the old times and from now on i will always look for friends at work, or at festivals or whatever else, but never ever again i will use a dating site in my entire life. This has made everything clear, about using dating sites. Plus, i always got like messages or flirts at least to make friends and meet them or something but no they never replied its $#*!ing $#*!ed up how people create this $#*!ty url link and then u creat your profile and wow all of the sudden they don't reply, emailed customer service via email, then they say they can't do refunds and also that i never turned off auto renewal? I even have screen shots in my computer about it and in my iPad this is a big fat joke. Guys stay away from this parasites, they are disgusting i hate people that put masks on and hurt others economically and mentally. This gives lots of insecurities. But karma will get them and i can't wait for the day that whoever made this website to pay for everything he has done to me and to every other innocent person in this world. Please stay away out of this site and the site im talking about is called "geek2geek.co"
Stay away. Unless you want to suffer and go through the process im going through.

I'm doing this review because I'm a reviewer myself and as well for everyone else to be careful and not fall in the teeth of this wolves.

Tip for consumers:
Never sign up and never put your information neither credit cards nothing absolutely nothing keep it to yourself this guys are fake scammers and bluffers.

First thing to note, the URL ends in ". Co" not ". Com". For anyone trying to spot something sketchy, that's a big thing to keep an eye on.

Second, when I first made an account, I counted exactly 20 matches, exactly 5 of which had exactly 1 profile image, exactly 10 of which had some semblance of a bio that was short, and really not that appealing, and exactly 15 of which had names that weren't just a seemingly random series of letters and numbers interjected into a common word or phrase. And of the 10 with bios, their headlines, unless geeks are just terrible at that sort of thing, were all way too generic as though no thought at all went into them. "Not sure what to put here", "Gamer Girl", "the real windwaker". Like really? If there's anything that's been so obviously auto-generated, this is it. That, or the users there are so very unoriginal.

Third thing to note, they only claim to have 200,000 users? And they claim to be growing by 6k per day? A steady climb like that is only possible with bots or fake amounts as filler. And as for the 200k users, that apparently spread across the entire globe. Meaning that the chances that there's even just 1 other person within 50,000 miles of anyone else's location is so infinitesimally small, I'm surprised they feel it with bragging about! A true geek or nerd would see those numbers and scoff when they also see 20 incomplete accounts with exactly 1 image max when there's a base REQUIREMENT when making the account for at least 1 photo? As though magically when you created an account 20 people of your desired gender just happened to create an account too within your search area at the same time? Really? The numbers just don't add up.

And finally, the website is incomplete and still using HTML format. Even if they paid a service like wix to create a website, the baseline stuff looks better than this. It's as though if they tried making the entire site from scratch themselves, using basic level HTML coding they just learned to make this.

So if your website really is real Geek2Geek.co, you might want to address these issues. And if it is a scam, you'll be a far more effective scamming site if you address these matters too. I mean, really?

Tip for consumers:
DON'T USE THIS SITE! IT'S A SCAM!!!

I don't think I can be much clearer than that. The URL is incomplete, the "matches" are auto-generated in clumps of 5, the numbers don't add up at all seeing as 200,000 "users" spread across the entire world, hell even if just spread across the entire USA, would mean 1 person for every 50,000+ square miles in the US alone. Meaning nobody would statistically find real world matches anywhere near them.

Products used:
Geek2Geek.co
I tried using their free account, saw nothing, as in no matches, I had no profile, etc. Then I tried using their gold account. Only to quickly see all the flaws immediately after making a purchase on their site. Suddenly there were 20 matches after I paid them for an upgraded account? Yeah right...

Currently in the process of trying to get a refund, but I don't have high hopes.

This website gets you to sign up after sending flirts to fake female profiles.
As a gold member you are able to send and receive messages from members who are not signed up paying members.

After multiple emails to geek2geek's customer service they conveyed to me they were having technical issue's. For 3 weeks!
My messages went no where and just today I received my only reply from a member who says she is no longer interested... she flirted with me not more then a week ago.

This smacks of manipulation on the part of geek2geeks end. These profiles are fake and the flirting system is managed by bots.

DO NOT EVEN SIGN UP WITH THIS SITE
THEY ARE TRASH!

Looking at all the bad reviews below, I'm not surprised. It seems Gk2Gk.com has gone completely dead. The site loads very slowly, the last 'activity' appears to be 22 days ago or so. And no, I did NOT get a paid membership; mainly because the site keeps giving me error messages every time I attempt to upload a profile pic, with no response from their customer service. It appears that they don't even have enough geeks here to maintain their website, let alone get dates.

Unsubscribing is a pain in the rear. They will charge you money, and then when you finally figure out how to cancel, they will cancel your account even if they charged you for the entire six months. And then have the balls to ask if you like to come back and they'll give you an extra discount.

Customer services sucks. I've written them twice and no response. However when I went to paypal to dispute the charge they did respond to them. My opinion, don't bother. You'll have better luck going to your local gaming store.
