GlobalPost is a fairly new online news website providing very high quality international news for the internet. Started by Phil Balboni, it's mission is to "redefine international news for the digital age... with a decidedly American voice." As traditional news outlets founder and foreign media bureaus close all over the world, GlobalPost runs a lean operation by hiring individual global correspondents in over 50 different countries. Having followed the site for some time, I've been impressed with their coverage of international events, but more so by the quality of their reporting and writing. I particularly like their video features and opinion pieces. GlobalPost just seems to be heads and shoulders above most other mainstream news sites out there today.

This Global Post website is about the worst example of journalism possible in America. Global Post gives the "company line" for the US federal government, at least certainly for it's coverage of the evil FATCA regulations being forced onto countries all over the world. Global Post reports how wonderful FATCA is in fighting tax evasion, when in reality it is nothing more than government control of citizens outside of the US borders. How can forcing anyone with just $10,000 in the bank to have to report all their financial info to the IRS when living overseas be truly fighting tax evasion. But Global Post, the cheerleader for the tyrants, won't do any real investigative journalism to get the real story and writes like a press release for the benefit of the executive branch of the US government. Global Post also refuses to print comments that go against their agenda. This is a horrible little news organization that I hope will soon close down. These people at Global Post are an insult to the journalism world.
