“They did everything right!”

Best customer service ever! I went to American Parts Equipment Supply, Inc. in Germantown, WI to look at pellet grills with my husband. I was not ready for this purchase. But after the amazing customer service from Josh, I was onboard. They were so knowledgeable, answered every question, & didn't try to sell us more than we actually needed. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to purchase a new grill or transition to a pellet grill. Stay small and shop local!

“Horrible. Looks like legit place from Web, actually it's probably a one guy show.”

So before making any purchases, I usually go out and research them to make sure they are legit. I like to work with US based companies and this one looked like a place in Wisconsin and appeared to have a brick and mortar presence. So, I ordered a $2499 Clarke Sander from them. Gave them my credit card info, received an order confirmation, order number. Did not receive a ship date. So, I called. "Butch" answers the phone, says. Let me check, I'll call you back. An hour goes by, I call and get Butch back on the phone. He says, that item had a considerable price increase and is on backorder, that he cancelled the order. I said, "what, you already gave me a confirmation number and took my credit card information!" I hop back online, they had changed the price from $2499 to $3700! They cancelled my order because apparently he couldn't source it somewhere on the internet to turn around and re-sell to me and make a profit. I told him that was unacceptable. He was rude and I said that he would be hearing from me further as I don't intend to take "so sorry" as an answer. Upon further research, "Butch" is actually Richard R. Marks Jr., registered agent for this company. It appears this company only has "one" employee and in the business records, it appears as though a "Sherry Marks" is the administrative accountant. All I can say is don't judge a book by it's online cover for this one, looks like a big company... it's not, nor do they have any integrity in honoring their online prices. If they can't buy it somewhere else cheaper after they receive your order, they will just cancel your order and point to their "Policies" section where it says they retain the right to cancel any order. That, I believe, is in violation of the Fair Trade Act. Seems they have no inventory other than online pictures. Perhaps Goapesonline needs to relocate outside the US Boarders where they don't actually have laws to protect consumers from deceptive trade practices. I've contacted the BBB, intend on sending a complaint to the WI Attorney General, and am contemplating serving Richard E Marks Jr, President of Goapesonline.com, but haven't decided if he is worth my time. Long story short folks, find somewhere else to buy your stuff.
