GTBank Customer service act like they are doing you a favor talking to you. Called them from the U. S and spent so much time waiting on the line, with expensive calling rates, only for a grumpy person to pick up. Issues that can be resolved within few hours take months. I would not recommend them to anyone. I have never had a worse experience with the customer care in any other organization.

To anyone thinking about opening an account with GTBank, please don't.
GTBank will rob you of your hard earned money for no reason at all. Endless debits on your account. If there's a POS/WEB purchase dispense error or probably a duplicate debit, just forget about that money because GTBank will never refund it. And don't even think about contacting their customers care, it will never be resolved.
Actually, nothing has ever been resolved by GTBank customer care rep.
Had debit restriction on me b'cos I made multiple transactions. I clarified with them, yet restriction not lifted off my account. They are messed up set of banking system.
Customer service was going to get back to me within 5 days, imagine that, 6 days passed and no one has reached back to me.
I will say with a full chest this is the most useless bank in the world. You guys block my account for no reason over the past two weeks, couldn't reach the customer service. Neither was I able to get hold of someone to help. What kind of banking system is this? I don't leave in Nigeria and I don't even know how to get this issue resolved. ADEOLA ILORI
Assigned personal bankers not doing much. Personal information open to all
Customer service be more.
I attendant your branch at Ijebu Ode to inquire about my dormant account and possibly to reopen it for international school fee payment. I greeted a staff on Orange top and the response I got was to join the queue without even listening to was I have to say nor returned my greetings I was rebuked and I register my displeasure, one of the senior staff apologized and asked what she could do to assist, I explained to her and she said I should join the queue, I asked if I need to fill any form and she directed me to pick activate form. I thought within myself, so if I had not asked her if I would need to fill a form or not I would possibly stay on the queue and when it gets to my turn an agent would likely tell me to pick an activation form and fill same as my encounter with the first agent, if I had join the queue without asking questions, I'll probably be referred to different desk or department after wasting time on a wrong queue. After filling of form which have my names written I was still asked to call my name verbally. I have never experienced such treatment with any branches before. GTB, Ijebu Ode branch is like a mom and pop store. I am 100% dissatisfied!
The worst mistake you will make is to use GTBank as a trusted bank when you're Abroad. I have been banking with GTBank for over 10years and my experiences with them since I traveled has been horrible. I will share my recent experience:
My ATM card expired and token stopped working as such I could not do online transactions. I filled a form and requested for a token via proxy pick up and I was told my signature was irregular. I called several times and explained that I signed this signature over ten years ago so I will need to see it again to be able to replicate same but they refused to show me. I pleaded for video call just to authenticate me and ask any questions they refused. One of call agents adviced me to contact my account officer to help and I did but again I got zero support from him. I called again and I was told to dial *737*... with a registered number on file and I asked if this was applicable to residents abroad? The agent said yes. I dialed the code and got an error message. Again I stayed up till 1am my time just so I can chat with an agent via WhatsApp! When I explained my situation I was told I couldn't use that code if am outside Nigeria. The agent was rude and ended the chat abruptly on me. So now I have my money in GTBank but I can't access this money because they make things absolutely difficult for residents out side Nigeria.
Another horrible system they have for customers abroad who want to change address customers will be required to notorized documents before such changes can be made. They don't consider that people relocate frequently Abroad and it's not like Nigeria! So subjecting customers to always notorize such documents before an address change is unfair and total waist of money for customers. When customers abroad provide utility bill and bank statement with same information that should suffice any address change. I provided GTBank with my bank statement abroad and a stamp from the bank alongside a utility bill that was paid from the same account apparently that was not enough to change my address. Any day I set my foot in Nigeria my first plan is to close down all my account with them.
I have been trading with cryptodroneco.com for a while now and the return i get is really good. I would encourage people to focus more on crypto currency than paper money..
