Almost 2 weeks after auction finaly received items I won... 2 of 10 only... And small note inside box, with 2 "tick to choose" fields - refund or "The item(s) will be sent to you when available (? WHAT?) Used many uctions before and if something is on auction, mean that item is there (auction home) ready for collection or delivery after payment. Payment must be settled in 24 hours... If not, they will charge you for each day of delay... Company with 26 years experience on the market can't provide what they promised. And no even email or text that there are some problems etc... That was my first and lasy time with them... Disappointed.

Our purchase of a hot tub failed. They took payment, demanded it, and then did not deliver. 3 months later I asked for a refund, it did not happen. I achieved a refund through my credit card a month after this.
2 months later haddon and james took the money from my card without my knowledge, presumably they kept my card details. I am now in negotiations with virgin money to again get my money back.
NEVER NEVER use this company. They are scammers and worse. Be warned, it will happen to you also.

You win a lot that says delivery within 28 days and if we can't we will refund you.

Delivery deadline goes by, no contact from H&J so I try myself. Takes a while but finally get through and I'm told to call back in 2 days. This happens 4 times and still no date.

Ask for a refund as they can't give me a date and I'm told I can't have one.

Wrote a previous review on Google, that was responded to, but still nothing. No contact no date no refund.

Loads of reviews say the same and phones emails etc are always busy, must be a lot of people like me let down... if they keot up to the refund i wouldnt mind because these things happen but they fob you off and tell you lies. I think ibidder spotbidder both need to be told and hopefully they'll be withdrawn from selling on their pages.

I won an auction and did not realise that the goods will not be delivered for 8 weeks. Contacted them to have the bid cancelled as I needed the goods within two weeks. I was told it cannot be cancelled even though they expect to hold on to my money for 8 weeks without delivering the goods.
I spoke to a lady called Saida who was unprofessional and unsympathetic.
To be avoided in future.

I have bought many stuff from here, all in all im pleased with everything. Delivery is good i usually get it to where i want.
Pretty good auction if you ask me.

Tip for consumers:
Be patient watch what you bid on some items are more than one. Read descriptiond very well.
Keep an eye on emails in spam box and in general.

Waited months for the delivery of a log cabin. Duly arrived, and arranged for construction. Qualified carpenters noted instructions were missing for on section. Tried calling, but phones have been disconnected for customers. Emailed, and received copy of main instructions, but without the section that was missing. No reply. Tried again, but informed this email service was no longer functioning.

AVOID THIS COMPANY, SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG!

Tip for consumers:
Just avoid this coming, it’s a sales company operating as an auction site. Therefore sales rights are removed.

Paid for item in March and Still have not received anything not even a communication re reason and its almost Septemberand it stated it would be 28 days.

AVOID AVOID AVOID NOT A GOOD PRICE AND NO SERVICE

ITEM 5 months Later Still not received and no sign of it they are now saying that i may get a refund in October BUT NO GUARANTEE

Wish I had read all these before bidding! Received 8 of my 14 items, received 8 single egg chairs but well outside the already extended 56 days. Never received an email or a call in regards to the rest? 5 double swing sofas and a patio set. Not even a card like other customers have received stating their items aren't in stock? Literally no mention of my other items. Now the battle for a refund starts. Reported to trading standards today as I do not wish to wait for a supposed refund till end of October. It's becoming clear that this is not a supply issue as it's been like this for at least 2 yeard based on these reviews! Still using covid as an excuse, blaming suppliers for undelivered goods for well over a year now so clearly that's another excuse! Disgusting and shameful behaviour. Legal action will begin (worth the £200 court fees to get my £3000 back!) once trading standards have replied! Once they're notified, will also be reporting to anywhere/ anyone else that needs to hear of these rogue traders.

After waiting 10 months for Goods, and sending 22 emails and 2 Answered, as they NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE, told them I would take legal Action to have my Money returned. Had a Reply from GORDON Customer service offering apology etc and said he would sort. Asked for Bank details etc which they had had some 3 times. Could NOT believe as just checked my Bank account and the money paid back AFTER 10 MONTHS OF CHASING. BE VERY, VERY CARFUL DEALING WITH THEM. Thanks for the refund H and J, but will NEVER EVER use you again

PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. We bought a six seater garden furniture set at the auction. We have bought at auction before and know the rules. However, it was already falling to pieces as we were getting out of the box. My sister and her partner were shocked at the poor condition, washer bent, screws cross threading and the ratten falling of the chairs. Even the guy who dropped it of said "it's a bit difficult to put together, if I had'nt got all these to do, I'd do it for you" He told us he was short of drivers and he was the warehouse manager. We tried to return it for for a refund, what a joke, my husband, got told, no refund, replacement only, just like that, from a nice gentleman called Gordan. My husband has stage 4 cancer and has just come out of hospital from a bleed from the primary cancer. He asked them if they would refund the money as this is more important at the moment to us than garden furniture, we are two nurses with 77 years experience between us and all this Gordan could say as he loves to quote the book at you, "well I'm following procedure", "we're running a business here", "the only person above me is the managing director and eh don't speak to the people, eh's got us for that", or Kaylee, "put you on hold now" then goes off for ten minutes and comes back and says "bad news, I can get the replacement delivered to your greenhouse but no refund" At the end of the conversation I said "the company lacked a moral compass" Gordan said "it was no point insulting the company" putting the phone down on me. I hardly think telling someone that there company has no moral compass is an insult. If you are still thinking of buying from them, remember if it cost £1 or £1000 and the thing you buy falls to pieces in front of you as you take it out of the wrapper. GORDAN WON'T GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK.

This company should be struck off chasing payments for goods which aren't available for 5 months expecting people to bank roll them they shouldn't be allowed to trade

I ordered and recieved 2 ipads total cost £128.00 both arrived and neither worked as one was described as working and one as unchecked i took them to a computer technician who looked at one and told me it was pulled to pieces inside and only scrap value it would never work. So i returned both to the company with an accompanying letter and sent them an email as well. I have heard nothing although it has only been 2 days so probably very busy. Tried to contact them on the phone but phone always busy.
I have bought many hundreds of pounds worth of goods from them in the past and found them to be honest helpful and trustworthy.
I will keep trying to contact them and will keep you informed of what is happening.

I always believed a family business would be more trustworthy, accountable and reliable than say a multi national and worthy of support, until my dealings with Haddon & James.

Unfortunately some families who set up a Company, start with the best intentions, but then with changes in management or direction, turn out at best, to be either highly incompetent, or at worse, have little or no interest or intention of providing an honest reliable service, treating their customers who have trusted them with their hard earned money, with utter contempt.

Companies like Haddon & James should not be allowed to continue to advertise the same goods month and month for alleged sale by auction, which they are already failing to supply to many existing and very unhappy customers, failing to refund them due to their breach of contract, and the goods they are allegedly selling, they do not physically have available for sale and delivery, yet they reel in more and more customers regardless.

This Company is not to be trusted, reviews show they will tell untruths as to the reasons why goods are not delivered, contracts are broken and refunds are not made immediately.

All they are interested in is reeling you in with an elaborate illusion, based on peoples belief they may be getting a bargain, which actually doesn't exist, making customers believe they actually have goods to sell, where the truth is they don't, the actual auction idea is a scam.

With regards to their regular garden furniture "Auctions" they hold and are still advertising, they do not have the furniture in their possession, they have to order the goods in, it isn't an auction in the sense of a true auction, in so far as the goods are there, you bid, buy and they are delivered.

The furniture in this case is purported to be supplied by a company called The Chelsea Garden Company, however, the furniture according to Haddon & James isn't even in this country, it would appear to be ordered after you pay for it, and the problem then becomes very murky as according to many other unhappy customers it generally doesn't turn up and the excuses begin of Covid, Brexit, Customs, Suppliers, etc, etc & then you begin the merry-go-round of trying to get refunded, which last's months or never stops, meanwhile Haddon & James continues to operate with your cash in their accounts and make empty promises of refunds in 6-7-8 weeks and more, and advertising more sales of the same furniture you bought and they failed to deliver?

Sometimes it is good to check Companies House, it is free to do, and see who is, or was the Director of Companies such as Haddon & James, I also checked to see who is the Director of the alleged garden furniture company, The Chelsea Garden Company who's furniture Haddon & James was and still is allegedly "Auctioning" or selling

Both Companies have the same Registered Address and the same Director James Turner-Small, which makes you wonder was this auction actually an auction in what a layman would expect, or was it purely a company selling furniture under the guise of an auction, setting their own prices etc, yet neither possibly owing or having any furniture in their possession as it has to be ordered from foreign suppliers, and any delivery dates seemingly uncertain?

The sole purpose appears to be to take your money and move on to the next fool who believes the hype and bling, and unfortunately I count myself in those vast numbers, I wish I had read the reviews?

I have not seen evidence of anything worthy of calling customer service, they continually fail to answer any form of communication, and if they do respond, just fob you off with excuse after excuse. Their latest ploy is to remove their customer service email address and replace it with an alleged customer portal where you are supposed to raise tickets to ask the only questions I imagine they continually get asked, and fail to answer.

"Where are my goods I bought from you in good faith"
"Where is my money"
"Why have you still not refunded my money months and months after you said you would"

Do not deal with this Company as you will see in the reviews such as those on this site, Trustpilot and others, that they will habitual tell untruths, make false statements or not respond to emails or phone calls. You will gather by the reviews about this company, that they either appear to have total and utter contempt in their dealing with their customers, or are totally incompetent.

I have started down the legal route for return of my money, and am in touch with media to hopefully highlight the disgraceful dealings of this company.

I have been told in approx 7 weeks I will be refunded the money I paid in May, I was told in May, my furniture would be here in July and that also never appeared, so why will my refund ever materialise?

Mine and other customers money is bank rolling their business, the problem I have in them refusing to honour an immediate refund, is will they still be in business in 2-3-4-12 months to actually repay my money?

I shall also be making a complaint through Companies House which more people should do, just google the words "UK Complain about a limited company" and find out how to complain about a company, that in their words:

Is committing fraud or running scams
Sold you a faulty product or service
Owes you money
Files late or fraudulent documents
Is evading tax
Is causing harm to its suppliers or customers

I am sure your complaint comes under one of this headings, I know mine does.
