These people are soooooo shady. I ordered 2 chi hair straighteners and they only sent me 1 hair straightener. I emailed them and told then about the mistake and the told me I could send it back but I would not be refunded for the shipping and they charge a 25% restocking fee. They want to charge me for there mistake. There is a guy on ebay who sells them cheaper and they send out what you order.
I ordered a flat iron from a company called StyleMall. It is also referred to as instylermall and hairstylemall in it's email and website addresses. Interestingly, the return address on the package I received did not have the company name and address, but had an individual's name (Yi Liu) and address in China. A second product I ordered also had the name and return address of a different individual.
The flat iron broke within a week or two. Included with the flatiron was a sheet of instructions for returns. I followed the instructions to the letter and returned the package to the address provided by the company. I then waited for a refund or some type of response. When I didn't hear anything, I went to the website and emailed them about it. I would have called, but they don't provide a number, likely because they don't have actual customer service staff. The company did not respond to the email, but forwarded it to the actual seller of the product, Yi Liu. In her response, Yi Lui claims the product was never returned and refused to refund my money, even though I followed all the instructions provided! We sent several emails back and forth, and she simply would not budge for a customer.
When I returned my first flat iron, I purchased a second flat iron from another individual associated with this company because I needed one quickly! That flat iron also broke within two weeks. I told that individual I wanted a refund before I returned it, because of my experience with Yi Liu. She gave me a refund minus shipping costs, and never requested a "tracking number".
Thus far, no one from the company has contacted me directly despite that fact that I contacted them on two occasions. Clearly, hairstylemall.com is a front for individuals selling used or fake products. The company has shoddy business practices, has inconsistent return policies and in the case of my first purchase, used delay tactics to avoid giving refunds.
