The design and thoughts behind this baby food maker was great and looks very convenient and we bought this to prepare food for our son, but after 6 months of use, we realized how poorly designed it was and how bad the quality was too. The chopping blade piece would not hold still in the socket and a few times, it few out and scratched the bowl. And just a few days ago, during a blending session, 1 blade broke and came off. We stopped the machine as soon as we felt something went wrong and found the broken blade inside the food we were preparing. Another not well thought design is the bowl itself. There's a part of the bowl that is designed to let steam and juice escape, but that part cannot be cleaned inside. There's only a tiny hole to let water in to rinse, but impossible to scrub and really clean the residue inside and with time, it becomes dirty and as much as we try to rinse it with soap, I'm sure there's a lot of bacteria that is form there. The Hamilton Beach customer service was similar to the product. We thought they were helpful in the beginning, but only to be deceived in the end. Even though the product was still under warranty, they finally decided not to send free replacement parts and told us we need to buy them. Even though we bought it from a USA merchant, because we use the product outside of the USA, they void the warranty.
