Happened to visit Qatar last days and booked car online. As promised, received car at Doha airport and condition of the car was next to new. Will surely recommend to go for Hertz in Qatar.

“Gas Overcharge”

I rented from Orlando Airport. Assistant did not explain that the gas charge was optional and claimed that it was lower than the FL average. Not true. They charged me 3.87 when local gas stations were charging only 3.45. I returned the car with 104 miles left to the tank and they still billed me the full 59.36. While it's probably only a 15.00 overcharge, that's not the point. He was rude when I declined the insurance and wasn't clear how the gas charge works. I won't use Hertz again. There's no reason to lie.

I rented a car for a few days as my car was in the shop. The brakes did not work properly and I almost got into an accident due to sliding. When I returned the car the CSR took the girl that came in after me, before me. He was more interested in trying to get a date then to process my return. Horrible customer service experience.

Tip for consumers:
Please be careful when driving one of their vehicles.

Tip for consumers:
Do not pay for the gas on pick-up. Fill the tank yourself before returning.

I left my phone in the car. They charged me $42 to mail it back to me.
I never got it. They now claim it got lost with Fedex. I have tried calling them numerous times. No response.
Insurance? At least my shipping money refunded?

Crying children standing in the sun outside the Hertz office at 83rd between Columbus and Amsterdam. A line of over 20 customers in the sweltering heat or packed inside a small space. Dismissive and uncaring attendants inside. That was the scene on Saturday, September 9,2023 at ~ 10am. After waiting online for over an hour, attendants greeted us with an incredible statement: accept electric cars that no one had made a reservation for, or good luck elsewhere. Every person in line had made reservations, and had received confirmations, for a gas vehicle. Many had to be at specific places at specific times. Explanation: gas vehicles had not arrived. Nonesense. Hetz made reservations for specifc times that it could not honor. Enterprise rent a car, right next to Hertz, did it right: it did not have cars available, so it did not confirm reservations. Therefore, there was no one standing in line. Avoid Hertz, you are better dead inside a hearse.

I'm please to confirm that my issues with the Raleigh airport location were resolved, and all over-charges were reversed. Special thanks to the on-property management and on-mine customer service representative!
