“Solid cabinets. Very satisfied.”

Dan C.
2/21/23

Ok here we go. Recently bought my first house and had to completely remodel it. When it came to the kitchen I was overwhelmed with different options. Went with shaker home decorators. Spent about 5 grand on all, and after reading reviews thought a pile of junk would arrive. I must be lucky because most of the reviews are bad for this company, thank God my order was complete and well built! I was terrified of the possibility of getting screwed. 5 Weeks later my new kitchen arrived and everything WAS FANTASTIC! Only the sink base cabinet had some cracking in paint on edge of doors but nothing to cry about. Thank you so much for not sending me complete junk. Spent the last of my savings on my very first kitchen and everything seems solid and I feel will last for years. Super glad I didn't buy the in stock particle board Hampton junk. These cabinets are what they say, all wood with soft close. Believe me, if I got crappy,.poorly made cabinets I'd be messaging the riot act but my order was super prime. Ok home decorators, you came through and sent me what I paid for. Seems like the price went up though and I won't be buying another set for my guest house due to major price increase. Glad I got in when I did!

“Christmas Tree”

venessa p.
11/6/23

Went to home depot and looked at this gorgeous christmas tree. Got home and ordered one to be delivered. It was my FIRST XMAS TREE EVER. After 2 weeks of it being lit parts of the tree went out. I've emailed and called immediately and they offered to send another one. Well as you guessed it it went out again. I called so much that i think i needed to be a representative. I was told that since i used it for two weeks that they'll give me less than what i paid for it. I've been sending photos of what the tree looks like on both occasions, calling, waiting for call backs that never happen - customer service only repeats what they've been told. This is going to be my third year without my own christmas tree. So sad. They don't care about the spirit and joy of christmas - it's only money theyre after and poor quality products! Now they want to give me a gift card to only spend at home depot when I've only been to home depot once in 10 years to get a tree. I don't trust their word, their service and integrity. But I do know that it's only so long you can treat your customers this way. They can quickly take your money but slow to give it back and you may not get the amount you paid for from the beginning. I'm also a disabled military veteran who had to pay someone to bring the tree in and out both times. I'm out of money and this credit is a wash. So disappointed. Do better!

I usually do not leave negative reviews, but I'm absolutely sick over the Home Decorators Collection. I spent thousands of dollars on new vinyl plank flooring from Home Depot not to mention labor for the install. The flooring arrived and 20% of it was defective and could not be used. The top color part was flaking off on the edges and/ or the click locks were folded in and wouldn't secure together. Due to the difficulties I had trying to find flooring that looked good in a 1980's log cabin and Home Depot's over estimation on materials I had enough to install anyway. HUGE mistake! Three months after install the edges of the planks where flaking up and chipping. The planks were pulling apart and the clear coat was coming off. Home Depot said I had to contact Home Decorators Collection for the warranty claim. I filed a claim and they sent out one of their flooring inspectors who didn't even address the defective planks in his report. They claimed it was an install problem and would not cover any of the flooring. They didn't even mention the defective planks that were never installed. Long story short they informed me the product I purchased was discontinued (surprise surprise) and refused to cover any of it. They costed me thousands. Now I have to redo the whole house in a new product all over again. Home Decorators customer service was terrible their inspector was awful, and I got completely screwed. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I'm attaching a couple photos for reference.

Are you kidding me? Who was the idiot that designed this crap. Do not purchase this unless your octagon boxes are perfectly mounted and you might like to patch your ceilings. Brutal product.

A representative called and offered a $100.00 refund. The top is worse than ever - all methods I googles to fix did not work - made things worse. We most definitely would stay away from this company's products. Hard to reach via customer service - they are NOT interested in rectifying problem. :(

Poor product and customer care re Home Decorators Collection Grovehurst 48-inch W x 20-inch D C

We installed a Home Decorators Collection Grovehurst 48-inch W x 20-inch D Center Rectangle Basin Vanity Top in Engineered Stone in Sept/21. Immediately noticed 'etched' spots on vanity top surface. These have multiplied daily and it looks terrible. Spent several hours on phone trying to get help. Have emailed and unable to get follow up. Home depot sympathetic and will take back - whcih means we have to uninstall all - plumbing, vanity - get onto a truck and take back. Plus all inconvenience of waiting to get something else. This product is disappointing beyond words. Also customer service. Completely frustrated. Very regretful we chose this unit from this company

Tip for consumers:
Check reviews and buy something from another manufacturer. Very poor quality - virtually no helpful customer support.

Do NOT even consider ordering these cabinets. I did a complete kitchen remodel and had issues with every single cabinet that I received. Misaligned drawer fronts with no method to move without drilling new holes. Screws through the side panels and glue everywhere. The door hinges are garbage and were installed such that there was no vertical adjustment. The cabinet doors have very sharp and pointed edges. Caught my hand on one of them and it broke the skin. I wanted something better than the particle board, box store standard, but for the price and quality, this was not the way to go. Home Depot needs to dump this company.

First the Home Depot people were great. The issues I have are with cabinet MFG. When the cabinets finally arrived there were several pieces damaged. Not Thru shipping. Looks like they we're packaged that way. It's been four months since my kitchen was started and still the damaged pieces have not been shipped. The installer Chris was great and he was very thorough in his install and inspection. He works for Home Depot not the cabinet company. Hoping to have these items by early a July according to Home Decorators. In speaking to them several times they were not helpful nor accommodating. I'm just another customer they don't care about. Never a apology from them for sending damaged cabinets. Having to stay in Florida much after I had planned just to accommodate their schedule and policies.

Verified purchase

Paid over 5k for new kitchen cabinets from the Home Decorators Collection at Home Depot. Ordered 13 cabinets and when they arrived 6 of the 13 cabinets were constructed so poorly that they were unusable, and they sent me two cabinets that were NOT the sizes I ordered. Cabinet door screws stripped out, drawer faces and drawer guides misaligned, drawers that won't shut, lazy susan missing the interior suzan shelves, wastebasket cabinet not shutting completely and huge gouges in the cabinet face from where the hardware hits it, one cabinet not even square and so badly built that it looked like a child glued it together, one broken in shipping (Not the fault of Home Decorators). Contacted Home Depot and they had no way to even break the order down to get the bad cabinets replaced, so we waited a week to finally get someone from Home Decorators (Home Depot) to figure it out. They said they would send out new cabinets for the ones that were not built correctly. Three weeks later the so called replacement order came. They only sent me two replacement cabinets, and then a bunch of hardware, cupboard doors, a replacement drawer (Completely cracked and damaged), and some new shelves. I found myself trying to rebuild cabinets that should have been made correctly the first time. After a few days of me doing my own woodwork to fix their problems, I was able to use most of the cabinets. Note that I am a woodworker and built my original cabinets, and had I not known how to fix some of the issues, these cabinets would have been unusable. I am now filing a lawsuit against Home Depot/Home Decorators to get my money back. These cabinets were NOT professionally made in any way.

Purchased through Home Depot and I am extremely dissatisfied. Several cabinets arrived damaged and they refuse to replace and some cabinets colors does not match. Some were bright white some off white. They also seem very fragile. They have sent me a skin to glue over the damaged spot but it also was damage on arrival (twice). After two attempts to delivery a flimsy patch they said they would just credit me $50 on the $800 cabinet that is damaged. So I'm stuck with a gouged and scratched cabinet in my kitchen remodel. I recommend you avoid them. This will cause me to seriously reduce my business with Home Depot

After 3 months of delays my 15 cabinets finally arrived. Upon inspection 10/15 were damaged or built incorrectly. The quality was absolutely terrible. Craftsmanship pathetic. To top it all of customer service is a joke. Chavel is rude, ignorant and should not be in customer service. After explaining the problems and sending over 25 pictures I was told they would do their best to replace items. 3 days later I get an email stating my order has been delayed once again. Called and customer service was atrocious as expected. She could care less about the customer or making things right. Claims she is the manager but will do nothing but give you attitude and call you a liar. Over 3 months of waiting and all I have is thousands of dollars worth of garbage.

Okay, so I am not imagining things! Home Depot has destroyed Home Decorators. No practical filters for searching, huge waiting times while trying to scroll/search, frequent error messages and pages that can't be loaded.
You should have to use the website, as part of your job, while being paid by the hour. I bet then the "decision makers" would get the wake up call to improve the performance of this website! I am done wasting my time! Bye, bye.

I ordered a hall tree from Home Decorators Collection. One of the pieces was mis-drilled, so I needed to contact customer support to request a replacement. No customer support number was provided with the furniture itself, so I had to go to the website and look up the number. The first time I called (the number on Home Depot's web site for HDC), I was directed to an answering machine that said they would call back within 2 hours. When I wasn't called back the next day, I called the same number back, and it had been disconnected. I still haven't ever gotten a call back from that original call. So I had to go back and search the internet for a different customer support number. When I called this number, I finally got an answer after about an hour wait from a call center in India who did not speak English well. I gave them the model number off of the box, and they were unable to find the piece in their catalog.

Finally, after about 1/2 hour and giving them every number on the box, they were able to find the order and ordered the part that I needed replaced. They said that the part should arrive by the end of the week. Friday rolls around, and no part arrives, but we get a phone call saying that it is actually 4-6 weeks for the part to arrive, and asking if we still wanted the part. Again, no number was left to call back and confirm, or any way to avoid another 30 minutes on hold trying to talk to someone, and the phone message said that they had also sent an email that we could respond to, but that never arrived (unsurprisingly, they wrote is down incorrectly).

Still haven't received the replacement piece yet.

The furniture looks nice, but the quality and customer support from the company is awful. I would not recommend purchasing ANYTHING from this company.

Ordered 3 rugs August 22 and just received the final rug YESTERDAY after several emails saying the order was delayed. Opened the rug this morning and its the WRONG COLOR. Their excuse was that the rug shipped directly from the manufacturer. My only option is to ship the rug back and reorder. No help, no nothing. Terrible customer service. I'll never reorder from them.

We purchased 4 1002 067 341 Exterior LED lights at close to $100.00ea from Home Depot and 2 have failed within 2 years. One has a bad solar sensor, the orher, the LEDs just faded and quickly crapped out. They look great out of the box, but you will get only 2 years out of them (plus what you would pay for an electrician to change them). Home Depot crap never fails to fail.

I have literally decorated my entire home using home decorator and have never purchased a rug from anywhere else. Thousands of dollars on rugs, bath vanities, home decor and now it's impossible to find anything. I will NOT try to navigate Home Depot where you cannot see full room photos, filter by size or color, find anything you are looking for. Say goodbye to a very valuable customer because this was the worst business decision Home Depot could have ever made. My many friends and family are as disappointed as I and all those who gave posted. Very bad move.

It is now part of Home Depot's site. So if you are looking for a nail head chair you will get thousands of listings for nails! Why would anyone think this is a good idea? I spent 1000's of dollars at home decorators by browsing through the last chance clearance items. I loved clicking on the site and seeing 20% off clearance plus free shipping! This site is now useless to me. Anyone have any suggestions for other websites like the old home decorators?

I tried to gmail my kitchen design attachment in a standard pdf format to the HD designers several times to have them review my design but they could not receive my email. So, a big waste of time. Home Decorators should not advertise a free design service if they cannot receive emails.

Otherwise, I designed my own kitchen with much effort successfully. The cabinets were expensive even after the 30% discount but the cabinets did arrive undamaged and very well packed.

The Manganite finish and Roxbury style were quite beautiful. So, a very demanding experience and exhausting but also a good ending to the story.

I am aware that Home Dec was a subsidiary of Home Depot, but now they have merged Home Dec into Home Depot and it is a disaster. You can't find the custom upholstered items along with many other items. You can't view them in 'room' settings and there is no ambiance to looking at decorator items on a 'hardware store' type website. This was a bad idea - I will be forced to shop on Wayfair - really poor decision Home Dec/Home Dep.

What happened to Home Decorators Collection? I have made many purchases in the past. Wanted to add a custom upholstered parsons chair to the 7 I already have and they simply do not offer this service at all anymore. The website is a navigation nightmare and it is as if this formerly great online/catalogue decor site just vanished. Ugh!

Home Depot has taken over the search engine for homedecorators.com. They've made everything sound similar so when you put in home decorators.com you get the Home Depot home decorators section I don't want them I don't want them at all I want to get homedecorators.com but the way that they cleverly worded their website you can't get past them on Google. It's a travesty it's horrible what they've done to poor old homedecorators.com I move so I don't get the catalog anymore and I can pick them up online. This ought not to be able to happen I've tried Googling it many times and I can't find it anymore. How can just changing the search engine for a website put somebody out of business this is horrifying this should not be allowed to happen Home Depot is a big monster

Bad move Home Depot. I've been ordering from homedecorators.com for many years and am perplexed as to why the on-line store was discontinued. They had excellent quality and selection. HomeDepot is a home improvement store not a home decorating store. The HD inventory doesn't come close to what homedecorators.com always had. A huge loss to the customers!

We ordered cabinets and counter-tops for three vanities. Two matching for a master bath and a third for another bathroom. That cabinets are okay quality. The real problem is in their quality control and shipping. Almost every piece we received was damaged or just wrong. The cabinets are packaged in cardboard boxes with no padding or protection. Smashed corners and broken drawer fronts were the norm. And don't count on a replacement either. One of the replacement drawer units we received was a different design from the rest of the vanity. The customer service rep seemed genuinely baffled that we wanted all the cabinets in a vanity to be the same. We received a counter top with the three faucet holes partially drilled! How hard is it to miss that the holes DON'T GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH the counter-top? That was 4 months ago and I'm still waiting on a replacement. Their customer service clearly doesn't care. They're just punching the clock. Sure, they'll set up a replacement, and maybe eventually you get the product undamaged, but they clearly don't care one way or the other.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid at all costs. Find a local cabinet maker that you can trust.

Extremely disappointed and sad to say that I would always shop at home decorators. I loved the website super easy to navigate. I don't have time to be looking through small pictures trying, on a home improvement store website! I even feel embarrassed that I've recently recommended the Home Decorators website to my friends who have asked where have I gotten those beautiful rugs from, only to find out that it no longer exists!
