“No I don't work for the company as I spend my time...”

No I don't work for the company as I spend my time homeschooling. I buy my products there and I love the service, prices and the materials. Please why don't you put your """""" where your mouth is... Give us a site that offers better pricing and better products? There isn't one. So I must say you ARE a new homeschooler because I've been through ALOT of nightmares before finding them and THANK GOD I DID! They are awesome.

“This is the worst place to order curriculum”

Tina C.

This is the worst place to order curriculum. I ordered $400 worth of books and only recieved half of my order. I have called during regular buisness hours and only get a recording. No one returns my calls. I have e-mailed them with no response. I ordered my books over two months ago. I don't have a clue if, or when I will ever recieve the rest of my order since I can't seem to get in touch with them. In this economy, I can't afford to just throw money away. They are theives. They took my money but did not send the books. I am required by law to have my child in school for a certain amount of days. Our public schools already started two weeks ago so that puts my daughter two weeks behind. I will probably have to spend more money and buy books from somewhere else so I can start her in school. Anyone that is thinking of ordering from them needs to know that they are crooks!

Order still has not been received after 10 weeks. The invoice stated that it could take up to 2-4 weeks for order to be received. After multiple emails and calls this company threatened me that if I chose to stop payment or dispute this charge with my credit card company that they would charge me a $40 chargeback fee and report me to a company called http://chargebackprotection.org/ and that I would never be able to do business with anyone online again. This is the poorest customer service I had ever received from a company.

Mom K must work for this business. I am not new to homeschool. TRUST ME THIS BUSINESS IS BOGUS! CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS ARE LIARS! EVERY HOMESCHOOL PARENT NEEDS TO KNOW THIS BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM. Check their rating on better business bureau. They had a 6 when I ordered from them and now it is 15 with a F rating...
This website will not fulfill your order and will lie and say they did. They will not refund the monies that are owed to you. A lesson learned. The generic looking website should have also been a clue that they are bogus. I hope that by me warning others will prevent this from happening to others. The people with this company all belong behind bars and probably soon will be. As they say Karma is a $#*! and what goes around comes around and they will get theirs...
UPDATE:
Better Business Bureau now reports 17 complaint

This is the absolute WORST place to buy curriculum. I did not research with the BBB before doing business with them. I orderered over $500 worth of curriculum from them (I chose the lease option, which is the same price as the purchase option, but if you return the package by the due date, you get 1/2 the amount credited toward more curriculum).

They got everything wrong. On the site, there is an option to choose from 2 different types of math programs. I chose one, and actually received the other.

When I tried to call them (over 12 times) during business hours, I kept getting a recording telling me they were closed and to call back. After then emailing at least 5 times, I finally got someone to respond to me. They tried to tell me there was no such option to choose from on the site, and that someone had tried to call me to inquire as to which program I wanted. Since I "didn't answer the phone, they just chose one for me". 1) I just went back there today, and yes, there IS an option on the online ordering form to choose Harcourt Math or Saxon Math. 2) No one EVER called me - our house phone is in our homeschool room and I sat by that phone night and day. There were no missed calls on the caller ID, and no messages on the voicemail. ERRRRrrrr...

Also - a hint about the lease option. Not a good idea for folks who follow the public school calendar, if you (also like me) are an OCD planning type who likes to order all your curriculum early to avoid the crowds and backordering. They only give you 12 calendar months with your books. I ordered mine in March, but quickly came to regret that decision as I was told that I would have to return it by March 1 of the next year in order to be eligible for the credit. So while time was ticking away on my other core subjects, I still hadn't received my Math curriculum, and they refused to give me an idea as to when I would receive it.

So I had to take my son's summer break away from him, start him on his 4th grade lessons early (sans Math), so we could finish in time to send the books back. Meanwhile - we still didn't have a Math program. They refused to work with me at all. I asked if we could extend the lease of my other subjects just until we received the Math so that we could start them all together. They said No. I asked if they could reimburse me for the cost of the Math, so I could purchase a different program elsewhere. They said, NO. Their only solution was to charge me through the nose for a lease extention of the other books until I had time to finish the Math program. No thanks- I finally told them to change my status to a purchase option, so that I could give my son his well-deserved summer break and then move along at our own pace... and also so I would never have to darken their online doors again.

Oh, BTW... If you order the SUPER (most expensive kit)... none of the tests are included except in GUM (Grammar), in which the tests are actually built into the book. Most other online stores include the tests/extra teaching materials with the "deluxe versions... not this place! When they say "teachers manuals," they actually mean "photocopied answer key to review questions in the book." You don't get the actual teachers manual... with teaching hints and tests with answers... you just get the answers to the little summary questions at the end of each lesson... IF you're lucky.

This web site is a fraud. Once you place your order, you will never get it, and if you try to get your money back it won't happen. I had used my bank debit card, which they charged immediately for over $400 worth of material, and then never shipped the order. When I and my wife attempted to call them, the phone would ring until there voice mail picked up. The only way either of us got to talk to anyone (not that it did any good!) was to call them from a different phone, so obviously once they get your money they screen your calls. I went to my bank to get the charge reversed, and when the Bank sent the chargeback to this business, they responded to it with an elaborate lie claiming that I had purchased a downloadable curriculum package! They had even doctored up a web page that purported to show that I had downloaded the software. The funny part was that the website they sent in screen shots of wasn't even the one I'm reviewing ( http://www.homeschoolcurriculumshop.com) but from another site ( http://www.homeschoolstockroom.com). If you look at both sites, you will see that they are almost identical in content, though they use a slightly different layout. I ended up getting my money refunded by the bank, and they were going to pursue the business, I do not know the results of that effort.

Please, save yourself a ton of grief, and do not order anything from this site or the other site I mentioned. If you are having trouble finding someplace, I have had wonderful experiences with http://www.homeschoolsupercenter.com/new_site/home.php
