I was there in August 2022, everything was broken in this hotel. Here is a small list of the defects: - Air conditioning didn't work - A fan was provided, which was also broken. - Elevator was out of order all the time, we walked up and down 70 steps several times a day with the childs - The telephone in the room was broken, with every little thing always walked down without an elevator - bed was broken - Spring core of the mattress looked out - The water pressure in the bathroom was sometimes too low, sometimes the hot water failed - Toilet broken - bathroom moldy and broken tiles - It rained one day, water got into the rooms on the upper floors, the basement was flooded - permanent loud noises from the elevator shaft - Rooms are cleaned absolutely poorly. The hair of the visitors before laid on the floor until we checked out - The cutlery is disgusting, not washed well, grease stains everywhere The staff was always friendly, but they didn't help you. I have complained several times - nothing happened. Even with the airport transfer, they wanted more money when checking out than they had 5 days before - the increased transfer price was justified with increased prices. I organized the transfer with the same provider, the price was cheaper and unchanged. The only good thing was the central location, unfortunately nothing more.

Booked a room and when the charge went through realized I had been charged an extra 35percent in fees. Non refundable. DO NOT ISE!

I verified my reservation, the hotel (Ramada) said it was booked through Priceline. Hotel-Rates is non-refundable. As it turns out I ended up paying $20 more than the the Ramada would have charged me and also lost my AAA discount.
Really bad idea. I haven't been scammed like this ever. My bad for not doing my research on the company. Needed a place to stay by the hospital.
I made a reservation a week ago, and you can't talk to anyone about cancelling, due to unforeseen circumstances. I've called all the numbers and even the hotel won't answer. Do NOT use this site! I put one star because that's the only way to get this review online.
Needed a pet friendly hotel in Murphy, NC. We always stay at LaQuinta's but they were bought out by Wyndham.
I made a BIG mistake & booked thru Hotelrates com. Daddy always said, "a good education is expensive," and he was right again.
Rep was a real fast talker. Told me this Days Inn only had a few rooms left. (It's almost empty) Never said a word about additional pet fee & deposit.
Always book directly w/the hotel.
This Days Inn has NO place to decently & safely walk a dog. Grass is overgrown & full of prickly, sticky weeds. Plus we had to pay additional $ & a deposit to have a pet. This information was NOT given by hotelrates.com
Lesson learned. Never again!
They booked the wrong hotel. Even lied about the location. Then take your money and don't allow cancellations. Charge full price anyway. I am reporting it to the police!
This is a scam operation. When the rate they quoted me seemed unusually high I asked if there was a booking fee. They told me there was none and this was the hotel's best rate for the night. When I got to the hotel I asked what the rate was and found out I had been overcharged by over $100.00. The hotel told me the booking had come through under the name of Priceline. It's also listed as a defunct website. All very fishy. Will try to get credit card company to refund difference. One star is way too high but review won't post unless you select a star rating.
I booked a room for my daughter for Comfort Inn Dayton. Rate quoted was $169. Paid a deposit of $21 thinking it would be returned when she checked out. Actual rate after taxes was $190 plus $21 DEPOSITE) or $211. Asked them about a pool and they said yes. Actually the pool was drained. Very deceptive website. DO NOT USE. Could have had the same room for $118 including taxes from Tivago. Recommend not using any hotel using the website to advertise since they are compliant
I called thinking it was the motel I am trying to book. This number is right on the motel's site. The agent booked us for the worse dive in town and charged us $20 more than the motel would charge. When asked why so much more, she said the extra amount is for taxes and fees. She was not honest with us. Do not use this site. Scam!
Husband was being transported to a hospital for emergency surgery 2 hours away. I called to reserve a hotel so I would have a place to stay. I thought I had called the hotel I had chosen, directly. I asked if there were any AAA or AARP discounts, he said no. He knew the reason for my stay, was for my husbands surgery and never mentioned a hospital discount ( which, I found out later, was $100.00 cheaper than what he charged me). I was charged an outrageous amount, once I discovered the true rate on the hotel website. I called this company a day later and at least they refunded some of my money (which I was grateful for). But stay away! They are bad news! They will steal your money at a bat of an eye.
Don't use this site! They charge you double of what you could get if you called the hotel directly. Learn from my mistake!
I booked a room with this company thinking I was talking to Best Western reservations.
Was told hotel was full but they had an Econo Lodge right next door with similar rooms.
Booked the room understanding their cancellation policy. Arrived at the Hotel it was a dump the bathroom was so dirty we wouldn't use the shower. I quoted by the agent the room rate $85.99 plus fees and taxes. The actual rate was $59.99 plus $4.80 for taxes.
I never did see a Best Western next this this hotel.
Hotel-rates.com is a scam. If you are unlucky to use them, they take your money, charge about $50 in "fees", then pay the hotel with their American Express card. When we checked into the Holiday Inn, they charged us for the room, since the paper work Hotels-rates.com provides looks like a scam, and we had no American Express card. We had to pay for the room with our credit card, then later work with the manager to demonstrate how we paid an outrageous rate for their room. When asked what was going on, the Holiday Inn manager said we used a scam site. Hotel-rates.com cancellation policy is even worse.
My husband called thinking this was he was talking to the Best Western (he said there number came up when he googled Best Western), We had a room at the Best Western but they charged us $40 more than booking straight through the hotel. This company is a rip off!
Price listed on the website is NOT the price they charged my card! Two night stay cost $500.00! DO NOT USE THIS SITE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS!
This site is a rip off. Non refundable should have been my first clue. But was on the road. And didn't check them out like I should have. But warning don't use them they price goge.
Find your hotel's actual phone number and call them. Hotel-Rates is fraudulently putting their info on hotels' sites. They'll charge nearly double the actual rate.
I booked a room through this site & ended up paying $40 more than I would have booking directly with hotel. What a rip off!
I stayed with my daughter and 7 year old grandson in the Bromcemar Beach Hotel/apart. In Caleta de Fuste in Furteventura. The hotel is very central to Restaurants and shops and a ten minute walk to the beach. There is a market every Tuesday and Saturday which is 5 minute walk. The hotel has 3 swimming pools one for small children and there is a lifeguard there the main problem at the pools was that there was no sun loungers available after 9 am as people were allowed to put their towels out after midnight. We were self catering and were very impressed with the rooms. My main problem with the hotel is the staff they are very rude particularly the bar staff during the day.The cleaning staff just barged into the room regardless of if it was convenient or not.The reception staff were very unfriendly. In the ten days I stayed I never once saw any staff smile. It appears it was a job and a chore for them I have travelled worldwide and have yet to find such ignorant rude staff. A little smile would go a long way.

Hotel-Rate.com
This is about Hotel-Rates.com. My husband booked a room through this service thinking he was booking through the motel directly. When we got to the motel we found out that we were charged $58 for the service. I called this service and asked if they made people aware that they would be charging this money and the person I spoke to said they tell people that they will be charge taxes and fees. All motels charge taxes and fees. How would a person not know that they were talking to the motel directly. My husband made a mistake and it cost $58. I told the gentleman that I spoke to at this service that they need to make people aware of this cost and he hung up on me. This service does not save you money.
This is the most deceptive price-gouging company Ive ever dealt with. Never again! If I could guveNO STARS I would! Had a family medical emergency and had to stay in Nashville close to the hospital and got GOUGED BIG-TIME for the crappiest fleabag Hotel EVER! Will NEVER use these people again! Lesson learned!
Booked a room in Lake City FL online, Super 8. The room was dirty, smelled and the door to the room was standing wide open when we arrived! We left immediately. We called Hotels -Rates immediately to complain. They told us they would talk with the hotel manager in the morning and request a refund. They did NOTHING until I contacted them the next day and was told they were just then contacting the manager... right. Needless to say, we got no refund but will contact our credit card co. And file a dispute. They are NOT getting paid!
I searched hotels in Columia SC and a list came up. I thought I was booking at Comfort Suites. I didn't remember the exact address because I clicked the phone number so I needed two rooms with two beds each. I told the girl exit 103 you sure this is exit 103 comfort suites. She said yes but needed to book the two separately She read back the first room reminding me no refunds and the address did not sound right. Then she says oh there is only one room. Hold on I'll fix this and we get disconnected. No one can help me after that so I had to try to find my hotel that I already paid for and hope I could get another room. I ended up at a Comfort Inn and that pool was not indoor like the one I chose. Called again got some voice mail. A guy called back and was going to investigate the call. Of course no call back and it's been a week. Can't get through now. Call hotels directly! No middle man.
They say there may be a 23.99 booking fee on some hotels. It is not disclosed in your booking
In the confirmation it tells you that you have a non-refundable booking fee. WOW! Wasnt expecting that -but probably should have right?
In the confirmation it says that there is a discount for AARP
When you call customer service to check on that -by the way it was not mentioned in the booking either-they say that there are different selections of pricing of which one reflects the AARP discount-NOT! Then they say when it goes into the hotel system it picks up on it and the rate confirmed has the AARP discount already in it
WHAT A JOKE! These people are CROOKS!
DO NOT make my mistake! NEVER AGAIN!
