JB HI FI have been around for along time, and the rumours were and I had been stung by this myself but it was over 20 years ago, they really didn't do much with testing for returned stock and just rebound it. I had proof of this for I made them check serial number on a faulty product and yes it was reboxed. But now things have changed (I hope) but for about the last 10 years I have been buying with confidence and as far as a notepad or walkmans go, It has been smooth sailing.

Terrible service, it has been a week since i purchased an apple watch for a present and it was supposed to arrive 2 days ago. No one reply to my email, when i call, i get told they will contact me, but nothing yet...! Not happy! Having a look, I have spend thousands on this store in the last couple of years; but i think this will be the last time i buy anything from JB HIFI.

Terrible service, it has been a week since i purchased an apple watch for a present and it was supposed to arrive 2 days ago. No one reply to my email, when i call, i get told they will contact me, but nothing yet...! Not happy!
Having a look, I have spend thousands on this store in the last couple of years; but i think this will be the last time i buy anything from JB HIFI.

I purchased Apple Watch from JB. Ceased working within both Apple and JB warranty. Refused refund at Hobart store. This is contrary to Australian Consumer Law. Staff in Hobart store were rude and dismissive. Lo and behold, this article today -

CHOICE calls out Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys over dodgy warranties

UPDATE 2/12/22 - AFTER OVER 10 DAYS, I HAVE RECEIVED A REPLY FROM JB HIFI COMPLAINTS STATING THAT THEY WILL NOT DEAL WITH AN INSTORE PURCHASE. MY PURCHASE WAS MADE ONLINE, AND I HAVE ALREADY PROVIDED A COPY OF THE ONLINE RECEIPT.

FOR INFORMATION - I ATTENDED THE HOBART STORE. I SENT A COMPLAINT TO THE STORE MANAGER ON 24/11. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD FORWARD IT TO THE AREA MANAGER. AS OF 3/12 I HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS RETAILER. DO NOT EXPECT POLITE OR USEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE HOBART STORE. DO NOT EXPECT MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTABILITY IN TASMANIA.

Tip for consumers:
Do not rely on JB HIFI warranty or company warranty. More importantly, do not purchase additional warranty cover. You are already protected by Australia Consumer Law.

I used to like JB, but this is awful. Don't buy anything from their online store unless you're willing to never get the item and also never get your money back. I'm serious, this is a major warning. Bought a headset and it never arrived, they didn't reply to the dozen emails i sent and they never gave me my money back at all. Absolutely horrible service, they just robbed me.

Tip for consumers:
Never, ever buy from JB online. EVER.

Sells some really top quality electronics, prices are great especially if you purchase them during sales. Shipping was super fast, and the return process is easy too

Wagga Wagga The shop manager is a scammer, bad attitude, and is unprofessional. I had ordered online and go to pick it up then he sold my order an item to his staff and cancelled my ordered. I had called up and sent messages to JB Hifi head office many times but no one return a call or response to my email. I will not shop in JB Hifi in the future. Their price is not cheap compared to other stores. Total disgusting service.

Stay away from Hifi from now on.

Incorrect information on the website no one would honour the price or fix the details on the website for the gen 2 headset I have phoned head office and customer neither picked up the phone after waiting for over 10 minutes
Incorrect pricing I drove 20km to go pick one up from a store only to be told that they are $249 not $163 as listed on the website

At the beginning of March 2023 my Iphone 7 died. Time for a new phone! I'd purchased the 7 from JB so I went back to there store at Erina. The 1st new Iphone 13 failed after 2 days of use, black screen and spinner wheel. Spoke to Apple CS who really were hopeless. Took phone back to JB, they exchanged for a new Iphone13. Hard to believe but this phone also did not work, had the same issues after booting up, black screen & spinning wheel? Gave Apple a miss & headed back to JB. They offered me me funds back without hesitation or another Iphone. I opted to upgrade to a 14, which works perfectly, as a $1400 phone should? The issue was with Apple not JB, they treated me respectfully & were very helpful. Would see no reason to buy from anyone else.

With no help from busy staff, I chose a Bose speaker to buy, making sure it was not out of stock as some others were. Plenty of empty boxes saying take to counter. Lined up, still in line! Get to counter, not in stock sorry? Why so many empty boxes snd no sign warning of the stock issues? Left shop. No alternatives suggested, security check my bag... I said there should be a speaker in there but...

Would have been content to make me wait for over 2 months without saying a word. The date of my item came and went without a word from JB. I had to reach out to them, only to be told 3 different dates (all lies) before they could eventually settle on a date from over a month from now, and still no guarantee. Just "it might come next month". So they didn't have a clue, did everything they could to keep me in the dark as to the status of my order and had my money. Every part of this transaction was dishonest and manipulative. Avoid like the plague. I found my item for 14% cheaper elsewhere after cancelling with JB and it only took 2 days to get to me, from NSW to Perth. I asked for a discount on any future purchase and was denied. So this became a no brainer, i'm never using these charlatans again. I'll save a lot of money and a lot more time by doing so. I already have as a matter of fact. Thanks Store DJ Online for your professional attitude and respect, you have my business from now on.

P.S. The below picture is the information they withheld from me. Important information. I was only able to obtain it after spending half the day speaking to them. They had no intention of letting me know where my item was and that it was delayed. Just hoped I wouldn't notice

I ordered items online for delivery on the 24 Nov 2022. It stated that I would receive the items by 30 Nov 2022. It has only been dispatched on the 2 Dec 2022.
I have attempted to use their Chat function twice waiting in que from position 38 down 7 and then being kicked off the chat only having to start in the chat again.
I'm now on hold which has already been hung up on once.
All this time and effort to get a tracking number and save a few dollars.
It's not worth the frustration and poor service.
I should have purchased from PC Gear.
Don't buy from JB Hi Fi online.

"Purchased" an Apple Pencil 2 yesterday in the duty free store at Sydney International Airport.

The guy who served me was a bit perturbed that the box was not plastic-wrapped, as per all Apple products, so he checked the barcode at the counter to make sure it was definitely an Apple Pencil 2. He confirmed that it was. I did not think much of it, so paid my money gladly and then boarded my flight to Indonesia. None of the displayed Apple items in boxes had their plastic wrap in tact, by the way.

Lo and behold, I open the box today and guess what - no f'ing Apple Pencil 2 in the box. Totally f'd my plans for certain parts of my working remotely plans.

So, there are only two possibilities - someone had stolen the Pencil from the box (not likely as every Apple product box was missing its plastic wrap) or the incompetent store owners/staff/whomever, deliberately and routinely open and remove Apple Products from their display boxes to prevent theft.

My feeling is, the latter is the truth.

Luckily, I paid with Amex and have my receipts, so will be issuing a chargeback when the charge finalises. Have contacted the store directly and told them in no uncertain terms (profanity included), how unimpressed I am by the complete and utter "F" up.

Worse part is, if I had been more organised before my travels I could have bought the pencil cheaper at Officeworks $186 vs $209 and, the so-called "duty-free" prices at JB in the Sydney International Airport are just the same as their standard in-store prices - they just don't include GST, but you still pay exactly the same price. Duty-free my $#*!.

Cannot stress enough to readers that if you are buying from these clowns, check the product is actually in the box. I feel like a $#*!head for not doing just that.

This is the worst experience I have had ordering something from an online store if I could give zero star I would, will never use them again.
I was dealing with the verification team through email where every step was made hard, then they would send me to the sales team and after being on hold for over an hour, Sales wouldn't be able to help and I would be sent back to the verification team again. Meanwhile each time I would try and purchase the item, the money I spent on it would be held pending out of my account for a few days.

They sell you $#*! you don't need (ie disc's without a disc drive). Absolute trash. Over charge then charge you extra (had to go back and dispute)I cannot tell you clearer STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY!

Was looking to order Samsung S20fe phone online after it was out of stock in store a day earlier.
The website claims it will price match and gives a customer service contact for this.
In a nutshell the salesperson said he could match the phone price from another site but when I tried to pay the sale generated an error message and wouldn't go through. After emailing/phoning back I was told the salesperson was new and was not authorized to give the discounted price.
So basically they don't price match and just waste your time possibly hoping you'll buy the phone anyway!
The discounted price was also the price the phone was being offered instore.

JB HI-FI Modbury store, absolutely appalling service. Purchased and paid for a LG Sound bar for my daughters birthday, no stock available till 6th Jan 2022, so will have it delivered. After getting home I received order conformation for a Yamaha Sound bar. Went back to the store to get it sorted only to get the complete run-around, the staff doesn't have a clue, the manager is disrespectful and rude. I have cancelled the order and will never set foot in a JB store again. I have now purchased the correct Sound bar from Harvey Norman, a totally different experience, the staff were courteous, knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. Zero to JB HI-FI and 100% to Harvey Norman.

Tip for consumers:
Be careful when using this retailer, the staff needs a lot of training, I will never use this retailer again for anything.

On 8.06 in Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast) in the JB HI-FI store, two sellers could not find a socket to plug in and demonstrate to us the power of the vacuum cleaner that we were going to buy. It took them about 10 minutes to search the surrounding sites with no result. It's a circus, not a serious shop!. The model we saw online they didn't have but they informed us that the JB HI-FI store in Kawana (Sunshine Coast as well) has one. Wasted time but we made the decision to go there. We waited over 10 minutes for someone from the store staff to be visible in the area at all. After that time we caught someone from the back room staff and that person promised to send someone. After another 5 minutes, a very young saleswoman told us that she couldn't show/demonstrate how the "Shark" vacuum cleaner works...Because it is the last model in the box and there is no such model on display - so she can't take it out of the box. Boxes and demonstrate. Shock...I traveled 60 kilometers to hear such words from amateur sellers with such an attitude. It's paranoia. Who pays you and for what?. Where are the managers who hire people with this level of IQ...Keep it going. Congratulations.

Hi, we called the store on Friday due to our tv not working properly, we we're told that we were able to come in and return our tv. We came into the store with the tv on Sunday morning and were told that they won't return the tv but will only get Hisense to come out and repair the tv. Hayley, the store manager of the Maribyrnong store was rude and defensive from the moment she came out to refuse the return, when we said that we were asking for a return under Australian consumer law she started to roll her eyes and become abrupt in her tone, she said that we do not have the right to return the tv in store as they couldn't determine if our tv had a major fault, i advised her that I'm happy to wait for them to determine this but she refused and kept shrugging her shoulders stating "well I can't do anything for you". She was so rude and was giving us wrong information, I asked her to email me the details of what she was saying(in which she agreed) but then when she was rambling and giving me wrong information and was becoming aggressive in her tone and she stormed off and we were left with an unsolved resolution.
We have shopped at JB hifi and good guys for years and after our encounter with Hayley I can guarantee that myself and family members will not be shopping with you guys again. Hayley should learn some skills in speaking to costumers before she abruptly speaks to costumers.

I went to the northlakes store on the 28/12/23 to buy a watch so the sales man said they would have to order it in so I paid for it when I got home I looked at the receipt and he ordered the wrong colour which they fixed a week later I went in to see if it was there and it wasn't so I went in today 3 weeks later and the sales person said they canceled my order with no communication no calls or emails nothing so if I hadn't gone in I would be still waiting so angry and so disappointed in the store and the salespersons as well I would never buy anything from them again
I got the watch from Harvey Norman so much better service

For those who want to get Asian pop culture products and support your local Australian economy at the same time, then JB Hifi is the place to be! They sell a huge range of anime both dubbed and subtitled, and some Asian movies from China, Japan and Korea too in their World Movies section. They even sell a few BTS products, such as their latest Japanese EP and posters. Also, I bought my LG G8S Thin Q smart phone from the JB Hifi in Forest Chase for half price, as they have quite a range of discounted products there. Lastly, I bought a Sony CD boom box which was also discounted, which I listen to all my J-pop and K-pop tracks on. I usually use the website to check if what I'm looking for is in stock at a specific JB store, then go there to take a look. I fully recommend supporting this retailer as their customer service has improved significantly over the recent years. Please support the artists by buying their products in store.

First of all I would encourage anyone looking at buying anything from JB Hi Fi to look at their reviews first...I would be very surprised if anyone bought anything from JB Hi Fi after reading the reviews! Unfortunately I did not read the reviews and I purchased a pair of Sony XM5 headphones from JB Hi Fi because my Sony XM3's were getting a bit old. My XM5's were fine to start with, but defects started occurring not long after purchase. When I returned them to JB Hi Fi at Warriewood Square, under warranty, I was concerned straight away when the young girl behind the counter tried to make out that there was no issues with the item? Am I a complete idiot? Why would I go to the trouble of returning for repair if there was no issues with the item? When I insisted that the item be repaired I received an email 2 weeks later explaining that my job had been accepted, but that no errors were found with the headset?! So now I'm stuck with some new $500 headphones that I will probably never use again. My advice, stay away from Sony and stay far far away from JB Hi Fi.

I needed a new iphone fast as mine was dying, couldn't find a retailer with the one I wanted in stock, except JB HiFi online, the price was also the cheapest so I ordered one on Wednesday and it arrived on Friday (I am also in Regional Victoria) WOW very impressed, can't recommend them highly enough and would buy from them again in a heartbeat.

I love JB Hi Fi... the retail shops and their website.

I actually prefer walking into a store as there's always something that shows up that I've not seen before... online I get lazy, go straight to what I want and buy it, missing all the other cool stuff they have ha ha ha.

But so far (touch wood) I've just got all the time in the world for JB Hi Fi! Never had an issue with them. =)
