“Kitchen Remodel”

Jan A.
12/29/21

We decided to remodel our kitchen, we so we ask for several bids and contractors in our area. K&B put together a package that met our needs. They were prepared to design a kitchen for us, and were willing to work with the plan we really had decided was best for us. We had such a good experience with the company and all of our contractors. They made sure the project kept moving on our timeline. Everyone that showed up to work has was kind, friendly and professional. In the end we have a beautiful kitchen that exceeded our envisioned kitchen. I would highly recommend K&B.

“RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN”

April A.
2/6/21

This review has been long overdue! We waited to post with fear that they would retaliate and not finish the kitchen. Without question we will be submitting our experience to the BBB. If you're here to decide if Kitchen and Bath décor is the right company for you. I'm so glad you took two seconds to do your research! DO NOT DO IT! This was a nightmare! The worst financial decision you will ever make. Please do not make the same mistake we did in ignoring the red flags. Flag #1 Appointment with them for your consultation will be push back over an hour. They're not punctual and will not be for the remainder of your remodel. They were never on time! Appointment time for consultation was delayed 3 hours later! ~They'll NO CALL NO SHOW FREQUENTLY IN OUR CASE 9X's. They DO NOT work on rainy days! Even though they work indoors. ~ Every worker said they have way too many jobs and are extremely busy. (30-40 projects and it took ours nearly a year to complete) Yours will not be a top priority by no means. Flag #2 Special, one year no interest, no payments! FYI they get PAID IN FULL, NEVER pay in full! This gives them no incentive to finish in a timely manner. We paid in full in January FIVE MONTHS before COVID-19 hit! This project dragged out so long because nobody is going to show up to work unless you are calling them asking what is next! You will be told every EXCUSE in the book! My all-time favorite was his truck broke down and he is sick! Now those were by far their favorite. Rene and our guy that did our back splash used that one quiet often. Flag #3 They will not provide you with a completion date! Our project took nearly 11 MONTHS! If you sign a contract with these people make sure you have a completion date! If not, you'll be at their mercy. Flag #4 Contract was very poor! Scribble on paper, repeatedly says not responsible for ….(please see photo of contract.) Flag #5 They DO NOT have a warehouse! This is very important because they'll store items at your home for a long period of time in our case 3 months and never have enough people to come out and get started. They semi completed the kitchen for the most part without handles on our cabinets and drawers after 10 months of construction. We dealt without them for nearly a month, when we asked them to order them they didn't, and this delay ended up resulting in them supposedly "being on back order". They stored everything in the garage but when it came to handles that just slipped through the cracks. They couldn't admit they forgot and when they finally did it would take weeks to receive them. ~ You have to stay on them ( MIKE)and if you don't your kitchen will not get completed in a timely manner. Remember you're the customer and should NOT BE CHASING these people down to do their job that you paid them for! Our experience with K&B should have been criminal! The amount of distress and lies we were told left us filled with so much anger and disappointment. The total above, as you can see on our contract was $28,000 A LOT OF MONEY. We wanted Quality, we wanted Timeliness and Professionalism. Today, I can honestly say they did not fulfill our expectations. Quality: Material matters, in this case we thought 28k meant we would get top notch material. The cabinets and drawers easily chip not sure what kind of wood if even that they are made of. All items were pre-painted with blemishes, but we did like that they were painted in the inside also. Celeste and her husband came and did see that we didn't have a cover over our fire place. She suggested that we visit her showroom and pick a slab out to cover it. This seemed very generous of them considering the misery we had been through. Upon arrival we were happy, and wanted something nice, her husband showed up and took us, not the stuff you drive by, but rather outside of their show room where they keep all their scraps of already pre-cut material. Look at the pictures of her husband standing there as we rummaged through the mess. They took measurements and said come to the showroom and pick out anything you like. When we arrived they forgot the measurements. Overwhelmed I left, this was just not what they made it out to be. Nothing we liked was big enough due to them already being pre-cut. We picked something out, but felt if this is all we would gain from these people we would take it. The kitchen is for sure completely transformed. We don't hate it, there are area's that could have been done better like the oven microwave area, but overall we like it better than not having a kitchen at all. We lived through that, during a pandemic when they had 5 months before COVID to have materials on hand right after the demolition. We had a microwave on our living room floor for 4 months, we washed dishes in our bathroom sink. Even when we had cabinets installed they forgot to order our hardware to open them. Poor planning. Poor leadership. No we did not get any discounts on our $28,000 transaction despite what they say. Show me that we did I have all the receipts! Regretfully, we paid in full. We did work that they refused to do for demolition. They would say stop doing work then show up and say that's not included. Then say, you shouldn't have done that, that was our job. Our previous counter top ran to the window seal when they came to bring the new one, the workers wanted to charge us extra for it to run to the window seal. We refused and contacted Celeste because we didn't feel it was right to removed something then add all these additional charges when they were the ones to give us a quote to redo it to begin with. She agreed to cover the cost of that. Why they wouldn't do the right thing in the first place is beyond me. It seems as though these contractors test you to see if you will pay them money directly to do the job, when in reality they know it is the right thing to do. Celeste I know you're reading this, and you're going to respond with a series of more excuses and bogus lies. You'll talk about COVID and blame the pandemic, this contract was done well before covid took place and the workers still canceled 3x's on demo due to lack of planning. You'll act like ya'll risked ya'lls lives at our expense. You'll play the role of a giving business owner that gave all she could, and even threw in free high quality items, when we know the quality was low and convenient for you, you will say you gave us discounts. God help you if you honestly believe the business you provide was acceptable fair and up to par. You've taken in an abundance of work that you and your team cannot effectively provide in a timely and professional manner. Re-evaluated your business plan it needs serious SERIOUS REVISION. The service you have given us has completely impacted our lives in a negative way. That is just inexcusable. To claim that ensuring and reiterating faulty work is harassment goes to show how you clearly take no responsibly for the short comings of the work you provide. To claim that you gave "Massive discounts and took on additional cost" is a complete lie, in our eyes you were grossly overpaid. Understand you made a huge profit on our dime. You profited greatly with your low quality items completely overpriced. I suggest anyone and everyone to get a real quote with transparent materials listed and a completion date. We don't hate the kitchen we hated the process. Being lied to and being misled into thinking your company could provide a professional remodel, and when you say they'll be here they would, and would get to work. The time it took is a reflection of that. People can like the kitchen and hate what they went through and that's how we feel, your company is ran very poorly, cannot be clear on what and when they can deliver and for 28K that is very much expected and necessary to say the least. Justify this. I dare you, it'll only go to show how you deal with criticism and can never take responsibly for the services you provide, but rather turn around on every negative review about your company and justify it with misleading non-factual information to regain your reputation.

Kitchen and Bath Decor Remodeling did our entire home with new engineered wood and wood tile flooring throughout house, new countertops in kitchen and baths, new custom island and all new cabinets in kitchen and baths. They tore out our old jacuzzi and replaced with a large walk-in shower with rain fixtures and jets. They did drywall repair, added more outlets, all new plumbing fixtures and toilets. Upgraded backsplash. It looks amazing just like a new home. Thanks so much for all you've done for us.

Tip for consumers:
Great sale prices!
