A friend and I shopped at the Fair Lakes store in Fairfax Virginia on 10/12. Diana was very helpful - showing us where to find the clothes we sought. She helped us in making choices for our different sizes and styles. She assisted my friend in ordering items online that were not in the store. She made this an very enjoyable shopping experience.
I've bought four pairs of tall pants, two of which were a good length, the other two were way too short. I'm pretty sure they could do a better job of quality control. I used to swear by Lands' End, but now I'm not so sure. If you're feeling lucky, I'd say try them out. On the other hand, I bought a very good-quality winter coat from them in December. No problems there. It has convenient pockets, a hood, and is very good against the wind.
I ordered 3 items from Lands End. It took almost 2 weeks for it to ship. I received it but only had 2 of the 3 items in the box delivered. I called to inquire and found that one of the items was no longer available. Not only did they not notify me of that product unavailability but they also went ahead and charged for the item It is still pending on my credit card account. I was told that the authorization would fall off but will keep a close eye on this unauthorized charge on order #*******.
Beware, once your order is submitted, you can't make changes. I placed an order a week ago. After one week with no status update and no billing, I called to cancel the order. Nope, you can't cancel. It still hasn't processed or shipped, but you can't cancel it. You can't change your payment method. And if you want to return the order, it'll cost you $6.95.
If you order something from Lands' End, I highly recommend you do so 2 weeks or more before you need it. The shipping is the slowest of any other vendor I order from. Invariably their shipper is always late. I ordered something 14 days ago and called customer service; they don't know when it may arrive, and DHL has no details on why it is delayed or if it will ever arrive. They offered me a refund, but my item is now out of stock. No solution. Someone in leadership should really empower customer service to provide real solutions for the people calling them. That is the purpose of our call. Equip your people, Land's End!

Ordered 2 items same as those I've purchased before. Quality is still good but sizing much smaller than previous purchases, they're obviously saving money in manufacturing costs. No packing slip enclosed with my order. To make a return a customer has to "do it yourself" online to print return label and product information to insert in the package. I've been a Lands End customer as long as I can remember but I won't be in the future.

Bought a vest, washed it before wearing it and the seam came apart in the washing machine. Filled the machine and covered the other clothing with feathers. What a mess. Called and complained. They replaced it after I returned the defective one. The replacement vest did the same thing. Now I need to return the second vest and wait 3 weeks for a refund. I will never buy from Lands End Again. I was on hold forever trying to resolve this issue.
2 changes on this coat would make it 5 stars: a workable zipper, and snaps instead of Velcro. The blue "Weather Channel" parka would be good as it keeps you warm, has enough pockets, and a fold-up hood. Too bad the 2-way zipper takes forever to zip up, then hangs up half the time. The Velcro will not close the parka unless the zipper is used initially. It's too bad. I really wanted it to work out.

Tip for consumers:
I would like to know why it's so hard to label pants correctly. Two of the pairs I received were obviously not Tall Pants.

Back in the day, I was able to buy some nice things from them. Not anmore. Two years ago I got a red vest from then and the red color bled all over the cream sweater I had on underneath.
Oof, paid $17.95 for express shipping. My item is expected to arrive in 8 days. Chatted with a customer service rep who said since I ordered on a Friday, they would give me a courtesy refund of the shipping cost. Okay.sorry to order on a Friday. He also didn't introduce himself or anything during the chat and was slow and unfriendly. Not great experiences at all.*editing to add my item is now expected another day later!
I place an order on Wednesday at noon west coast time / 3pm easy coast. One would think it would ship the same day. 4 days on and it is still "processing" - what the hell? 4 days to put a couple shirts in a box? In the age of Amazon delivering same day, how do a company like this even stay in business. If I don't see my order shipped Monday morning, I'm canceling.
I ordered a pair of their Starfish straight leg pants on January 14,2024. They "supposedly" shipped the pants on January 19th, however, no one seems to know where the package is and I still do not have the pants. Tracking keeps saying in process. NOT out for delivery. I emailed them and they took 2 days to respond and all they said was sorry for the inconvenience and that the pants shipped. Now why does it take 6 days to pull a pair of pants off their shelf, put them in an envelope and mail? While I really like their pants, I'm going to have to find a more reliable brand.
I ordered a puff jacket. It was too large so I started a return and they charged me $8!
I will never use this company again.
Two weeks ago, I ordered a couple of bedding items from Land's End, which I hoped to use at Thanksgiving. Two weeks later...no bedding, and no customer support. I have called, chatted and texted with Land's End, and no one knows where my parcel is, although my credit card has been billed for the full amount. I will never shop with Land's End again. Customer service is beyond awful.
Tip for consumers:
Dreadful customer service.

I have shopped at Landsend for decades. The quality, variety, and service used to be reliably high. You knew what you were getting and could count on it.
I ordered a few items recently and all I can say is, what happened to this once stellar company? First, I almost didn't purchase anything because the availability of styles and colors was so limited. Then, I received NO notifications about any of my items shipping. I had to send an inquiry to customer service a few weeks after no packages or anything, just to get an update. Isn't that e-commerce 101? And now it's been weeks and weeks and still no confirmation of my return, let alone when I'll see my money.
Landsend is a dying company. Nobody at Landsend cares anymore, that's clear.
You'll note that the majority of complaining here is actually about customer service on online orders, not about the clothing itself, and a lot of it is pretty petulant whining. I've purchased numerous casual clothing both in-store and online when on sale, and have found the clothing to be good quality, well-fitting, as-described, and very good value. I encountered some minor hiccups when ordering backlogged items during the holidays, which is 100% expected and not in any way a deal-breaker. I would not pay full price for anything and purchase my tailoring and business clothing elsewhere, but when certain casual items come on sale, I move on them and have never been disappointed. Much of my casual wardrobe is Land's End.

I've been ordering from them for 2 1/2 years jackets, hoodies and polos for my employees and myself. I've had two out of three jackets have stitching come out. These jackets aren't even used that often as we are in Southern California. Quite a few of the polos have the stitching coming out. I reached out to them on two occasions and they do not stand behind their product. I know someone that makes and alters clothing and he said they only use a single stitch where the sleeve connects to the body of the jacket. Instead of using an overlock stitch like they do on their hoodies. I really advise against using the Lands' End branded clothing.
Tip for consumers:
Even when you pay for expedited shipping the order still takes at least six weeks to arrive. The website says 10-12 days for embroidered items with expedited shipping but all of my orders have taken a lot longer than that. I would only order from them if you don't need the items any time soon and you don't care how long they will last.
Products used:
Some of the polos where the seams weren't coming undone. The one jacket out of three that did not have the seam come apart. The hoodies have been good so far.
I'm done. Ordered my seven-year-old an a size large and my five-year-old a size small winter jackets on October 30. I received an email that the shipping was delayed that it wouldnt arrive until November 16. Ok, no big deal. Then, only one jacket arrived the size small so I called them asking about the other jacket. They informed me that the large size was no longer available. So I decided to re-order another small in the style of jacket my oldest daughter wanted. Three days later, I received an email that the shipment was delayed and it wouldn't ship until December 11. At this point we've already had one month of very cold weather. I decided to wait, even though they offered no discount or apology over the phone, just a poor operator who's overseas somewhere.
Today I received an email that the jacket is no longer available. WTH is going on? Seriously it's messed up that I had to piece together warm clothes while being strung along. I'm done, I'll get another jacket someplace else

Land's End can't expect to compete in the online shopping market when they take 10+ days to ship an order with a singular in stock item. And when missing deadlines of 10-14 days, which is already completely unheard of in this day and age of 2 day turnaround, they still expect the customer to pay $6.95 to return the item that they did not deliver after two weeks time to do so. Their shipping and return policies reveal quite a presumptuous opinion of themselves to think their customers are that loyal to their brand to accept those archaic terms rather than take their business to their competitors.
Land's End uses their brand advantage in the school uniforms market to do poor job - both in clothes quality and speed. If you have a choice, I would go elsewhere.
Ordered a robe as a Christmas gift. It was supposed to ship right away, BUT, when I received the confirmation email there was a lovely note on the bottom that said "Backorder est. Ship 6/10/24" in bright red lettering. So, how is over 6 months after placing an order shipping within 2 days? I called Lands End customer service immediately to cancel the order and was told that it was canceled, and I'd receive my refund immediately. Well, the jokes on me again, I guess, because 10 days after canceling the order my bank has still not received the refund. I know some people don't consider $100+ a lot of money, but I do. I've been in contact with Lands End customer service department again and their response is the refund should hit my bank in 10-15 days. No kidding! Very bad customer service. If you can choose another online store to shop at, stay far away from Land's End. Their customer service is horrible and rude, and they lie about shipping. I'm still waiting for my refund. Just got off the phone with customer service again who told me their account department will refund when they refund and I have to be patient. I hope this made sense. I am so disappointed in what was a very reputable company a long time ago.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from Land's End. Choose another place to shop!

I have shopped Le simce they go itst started selling canvas boat bags. Unfortunately since the Sears take-over snd Amazon sell off their on-line software, product quality and site friendliness have suffered. Their agents on phone can only respond to customer complaints with corporate scripts. I will not shop there again
The last few years, Lands End has gotten worse and worse. Their quality control is non-existent- I ordered 4 pairs of Starfish pants-same size in different colors- and every pair was different in the length, the waist, the rise and the fit. Two were so tight I couldn't bend over and one was so large they kept sliding off. Same with the quarter zip fleece which varied in length by 3 inches. I ordered a coat on-line and when I tried it on, there was a used tissue in the pocket. Ew. The waterproof boots aren't. The newest clothing is beyond boring- all solid grey, beige, white and black, the cuts are very unflattering and the materials are cheap beyond belief- lots of polyester and rayon instead of the cotton Lands End was known for. I keep checking their catalog hoping it will get better and it doesn't. So bye bye Lands End. Much like Woolrich, you have lost your way and lost me as a customer.
Tip for consumers:
The website is awful- slow and unresponsive. Coupon codes that they have sent me frequently don't work.

Was told returning items for merchandise credit with Happy Returns would be instant, but it took 11 days to exchange a pair of pants. I had to call three times! Don't buy at Lands End! LL Bean has much better service and quality clothing
Horrible customer service! Supervisor wouldn't even pick up the phone she rudely put me on speaker. I bought something on Wednesday late night and Friday there was a sale. I hadn't even received my shipment yet and there was a 50% off sale. I asked to have a price adjustment and was told too bad it's a weekend sale. Nothing else was offered to accommodate a $50 overcharge. What ever happened to this company with their customer last policy. Never dealing with this company again. Everything is overpriced anyway and have bad customer service.
