Yes, I don't think there would any choice other than "Liquidweb" if we talk about "Dedicated Server Hosting". " LiquidWeb " is leader in this space, however, they have close contest with 1and1.com, siteground, Bluehost and hostgator. But my unbiased opinion is with "LiquidWeb".

The knowledgeable staff has already left LiquidWeb

PROS: Friendly support (mostly). Uptime is very good, close to 100% or should I say almost 100% most of the time. There used to be some guys that are very knowledgeable and were willing to make the extra step to help you out on tricky issues, although the knowledgeable guys seem to no longer work there.

CONS: The billing charges one's card without notifying in advance on what exactly the amount will be charged, thus price increases can surprise you. And tricky extra charges are also a shocker.

Very expensive.

LiquidWeb automatically enrolls you in auto-pay via credit card or your bank account (direct debit) via Paypal, so they can charge your card or withdraw any amount directly from your Paypal account and if your Paypal acc. Has zero balance then from your bank account! And you are unable to remove your bank account number from their records! They won't accept bank wire or manual Paypal balance payments, so you're stuck providing LW either your credit card or Paypal/bank account for them to help themselves in your account for any amount.

Made a 2 year deal with a fixed amount paid to LW but a year after I paid for 2 years LW is already charging me extra money on the balance despite the agreement and prepaid hosting for 2 years. One year after the deal they stopped sending me zero invoices via email, but started sneaking in extra sneaky charges of unknown unidentified origin. When asked what those charges are the billing department gives some smoke and mirrors answer.

The live chat constantly closes from lost connection. Can't even save the chat transcript. Or the chat will get stuck for hours in waiting being never attended.

There's a lack of knowledgeable staff since most of their best staff has already left the company and you can read about that on the internet forums. The support will for days conveniently ignore more complex issues they were able to fix in the past and only address issues that are simplest in nature, but usually reply is written that there's nothing they can do about it, leaving customer stranded looking for help elsewhere or moving to another, more modern, knowledgeable and more flexible host.

Simple questions they were easily able to answer and address now are repeatedly ignored, even if asked twice, just to confirm things.

The best days of LiquidWeb heroic support and fair billing are clearly over. I am looking to move elsewhere.

Liquid Web is the best in the business. I have recommended Liquid Web and I always say, it's secure hosting but even more importantly. Always provides Best service. We are extremely happy with the service and support that we receive from Liquid Web

Based on a recent interaction, Liquid Web has been non-responsive and unhelpful - shop elsewhere - cheaper services and better support.

Well I have to say that this whole experience hasn't been a good one. We just haven't been on the same page from day 1. All I've ever used is a hosting service like Alpha Hosting with C-Panel access. I was shocked when I first logged in to the flex plan and I thought that I would have had a C-Panel by switching to your Wordpress managed plan but to no avail.

I'm disappointed with your service overall so far, the migration hasn't been easy. My subdomains on my multisite network aren't working and that's absolutely critical to my business that I'm launching in a couple weeks. Your tech guys just couldn't grasp what I was trying to do that was so easy on Alpha Hosting.

In Alpha Hosting I was able to login to the C-Panel and add a wildcard subdomain and ssl was automatically created free for every subdomain I created. It worked like a charm and never had any issues with their service.

I'll be migrating my sites over to another company in the next couple days.

Thanks for your efforts but your service just won't work for me, too complicated, too much money and no c-panel so not user friendly in my opinion.

I've been a customer of LiquidWeb for quite some time now. Service was top notch- AT FIRST! I have a managed virtual private server with them which costs me about $60 per month. My website is fairly basic, nothing that consumes much bandwidth or memory. I don't know what happened recently but my website was hacked about 3 weeks ago. I contacted their tech support and was told- our security guy left for the day (4pm EST). Your ticket will have to wait until tomorrow. Next morning their security team- consisting of ONE GUY- says, your site was hacked and has malware. You can either subscribe for our premium security package for an additional $45 per month or we charge a $100 fee for malware cleanup per incident. Fine- I sign up for the security package which almost doubles my monthly fee. Now 3 days later, I start getting messages that my virus scan on my server is failing. I contact support again. Now I'm told. Your server doesnt have enough RAM to run the new security package. You need to upgrade your ram which will cost an additional $40 per month! I said- NO- figure it out. I'm not paying anymore. They said ok- we will investiagte. 2 weeks pass, i do no thear anything from them and my website gets hacked again and it goes down after i'm already paying for the premium package. They tell me, well we will investiagte. 2 hours pass- no updates. I call again- this time I'm told, we are still investigating, but no ETA yet. All this time website is down and i'm losing business. I'm ata point where their server is very unstable and i need to find another hosting company otherwise i'll be out of business.

DEC 2020 UPDATE - So when i first started with liquid web I was paying $55 per month for a VPS server. 3 days ago I got my bill and it is now up to $189 per month for the same service! Long story short, I moved my website to another company with a VPS server that is larger and faster than what Liquidweb was giving me for one-third of the liquid web price!

My monthly hosting bill has tripled in just under six months, with no explanation, no warning, and no usage stats to back it up. They offer decent hardware and customer support, but I can no longer afford the huge monthly fees. Moving on...

I run a medium-sized web business. The key issues for me are uptime, service, and costs. Having run through a number of not-entirely satisfactory hosts over the years, we have been very pleased with Liquid Web.

Above all, there are no unpleasant surprises. Uptime is more or less 100%. Service is friendly. I am a non-technical owner, so it is important to me that customer support says: "Yes, we can do that for you" when I request that some technical issue be sorted.

Liquid Web are a little expensive and my IT guy is muttering about shifting to Amazon S3. Well, cost is a major consideration so I am not deaf to these appeals. However Liquid Web provides such excellent support that I am really reluctant. If we move I will be much more dependent on his expertise, for one thing! Liquid Web seems like the gold standard, so not easy to give up.

Pretty incredible business, website and people. They work hard to meet the need and in trying most of the competition, they are, hands-down, the best to deal with. No complaints here 3 years running dedicated boxes with them.
