An item was listed as a "Salvador Dali, hand signed" peice of art. Turned out it is fake. So, basically I got ripped off. Purchased it through liveauctioneers. Yes, they are not responsible, but since it was purchased through their site, I can't help but feel they are part of the process in selling fraudulent art. So, if you use them to purchase anything, buyer beware.

An item was listed as a "Salvador Dali, hand signed" peice of art. Turned out it is fake. So, basically I got ripped off. Purchased it through liveauctioneers. Yes, they are not responsible, but since it was purchased through their site, I can't help but feel they are part of the process in selling fraudulent art. So, if you use them to purchase anything, buyer beware.

Liveauctioneers is not designed to support bidders so buyers must be extremely cautious about any bids. I failed to do research on the items I bid for. After winning my items, I quickly found out that the certificates of authenticity from the auction house that sold my items were rarely provided and/or outright fakes. In contacting liveauctioneers and the auction house, there was no response from either until after my credit card was charged and liveauctioneers refused to take any responsibility for the process.

On the liveauctioneers website, I sent a request to consign a few of my antiques and collectables.

I was reached out by a "trusted partner", who said they would be interested in the items

The auction house received the items, but refuses to sell or help return the items. My items have been stolen at this point.

I reached out to Liveauctioneers for help, via their email and phone number, and I was told that they cannot/will not assist. They are not responsible for any members on their website.

Even worse, they CC'd the auction house in the email, giving the auction company permission to do whatever they would like with my items.

Stay away from this company and their partners. They authorize theft on their platform with absolutely no recourse for their partners.

Tip for consumers:
Stay clear from this company, there are many complaints regarding fake items and stolen goods. Liveauctioneers supposedly vets its auction house partners, but will not help the buyer/consigner in any situation.

Successfully bided on an item Dec 14th, communicated w auction house to make payment and to arrange for shippers, within 3 days Live Auctioneers charged my credit card with added fees, than we made the mistake to agree for LA to handled the shipping and did not receive the item until Jan 13 one month later. Their so called Managment Team are poor communicators and make up excuses for their lack of competence, in fact they blamed the auction house and the shipper for us not receiving our item and added fees, which was a TOTAL LIE. When we called the shipper to why the item had not been shipped, they said "Item has been packed and ready to ship for over a week, and we have sent 3 request for LA to issue a shipping label which they have not responded to at all". Than after all of this bad service from LA they charged us another added fee for shipping as well. Our future plan… just going to use LA's platform to search for items of interest and than bidding direct with the auction houses, bypassing LA permanently.

Tip for consumers:
Beware of Live Auctioneers poor service and poor ability to comunicate with any one but by email.

I noticed some items that I own for sale on Pinterest while doing some research. There were two seller names linked with my items, Pacific Global Auctions and Golden Gate Auctions. A quick look at their "collections" revealed that most of "their" watches were owned by me and had simply been "plucked" from 1stdibs. Needless to say, I had never authorized them to auction my items. I contacted them but they did not respond. I also contacted LiveAuctioneers. They basically told me it was not their problem. I cannot grasp how a company like LiveAuctioneers finds it worthwhile to have fraudulent dealers selling items on their platform that can never be delivered.

Bought a $200 item.Shipping was about $150.Bought a similar item on ebay that was a little larger and framed and was charged $45 for shipping.Was told i could contact a third party and have them ship it.How can i do that when i live in Missouri and the auction house is in Florida?

Liveauctineers.com is a scam! Please be careful and aware. I lost 6000 euro in an auction 3 weeks ago. They are piece was never shipped and now it is offered again on their website for even more money. I won fair and square. They have sent the invoice with the account info and I transferred the payment. Now they are saying they are just the middle men and have nothing to do with it. Please be careful, it is a scam! I have all corespondents. Let me know if you need proof!

I won something almost a months ago. I was forced to contact customer service as the "auction house " didn't answered at all. I guess customer service were able to reach them. So they did: oh they're waiting for something else. Weeks gone, no merchandise no money. And you have to wait 7 days for an email answer. Well: this ruined the whole process. I warned you. Another very important point: I was happy with the 330 dollars price but so much additional expenses added I ended up with the fee you see and the auction house blackmailed me for more. The same one on gunbroker is 510 buyitnow, NEW. I received one in 3 days from gunbroker. These auction houses are busy with new auctions and don't hurry to service you when you paid them. And you are on your own.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away or take it as a donation to auction houses.

Be VERY careful with this company. They allow intentionally misrepresented auction companies to conduct business on their site. The customer service team and social media team is non-existent. DO not expect any help if you have issues with bidding. You have an obligation and are responsible in these matters when you run a platform that provides access to intentionally misrepresented items on your site. Do not bother with your insincere reply since the support team is beyond worthless.

I bought two Lalique perfume bottles both are fakes. They have no engraving like my real ones bought in store. The top of one was plastic! Scammers!

It's a hit or miss with this site. However, the misses are atrocious! You would think they would do a better job of responding to federal crimes like forged art work, and not providing what was paid for. I've dealt with multiple vendors on this platform who outright sell forged art! There are numerous feedback comments about the scam, and LiveAuctioneers do nothing to stop these companies! You have an obligation in these matters when you run a platform that provides access to scammers. Might as well be crypto! Shame on you and your unchecked capitalism!

They deal with unethical auction houses. They offer no customer support-except placating emails. I recently won an item, was very clear that I wanted signature delivery-and was shipped without signature delivery or insurance. The package is lost and I'm out the full amount.
They are also clueless regarding fakes and make minimal to no effort to enforce. Selling fake antiques across state lines is a federal offense.

Tip for consumers:
Bid directly with the Auction House and have everything in writing regarding shipping.
Live Auctioneers will collect their commission from both parties, but offers zero support.

Steals your money when vendors don't provide the goods! Purchased several items at several different auctions from the same auctioneer, and auctioneer "could not find" most of the items. Requested my money back from Liveauctioneers and they acknowledged my request but did not refund me. Continued to remind them they owed my money and they then just went to ignoring me. This was the Liveauctioneers customer service that did this. How blatant of a rip off is this! Do NOT trust them!

You can absentee bid, but Live Auctioneers won't send it in. I recently lost an item this past weekend. I saw where the item had sold for an amount lower than my absentee bid. I called the auction house and they never got my bid. So what's the point in using this company.

I found out about Liveauctioneers.com 30 days ago. Not being a bidder before or ever visiting an action, both on the internet or in person, the first experience I had was amazing. I was able to do a lot of research as the necessary details were right at my fingertips. I was able to upload my biddings online as well. The robust online portal offered me many different characteristics. Eamples would be to receive the lowest price that is close to my bidding parameters.This was helpful especially during this Covid-19 pandemic where people were requested not to attend gatherings and meet up in person so through Liveauctioneers, we are able to comfortably do it at our houses. My first auction which was on Sunday, was actually done on my family's boat as I was on Lake Travis in Austin with my family. The service I received after winning bids in terms of the shipping, follow-up, the delivery and customer assistance was incredible. This company has created a unique and new method to motivate people to attend auctions. Wonderful!!!!

I purchase antique clocks on this site however I wish they would list watches in another's catagory it's very annoying to have to look through 150 pocket watches to be able to see one clock. My second beef is the price as they are charging. The buyer are getting to be astronomical and absolutely not worth going to the site anymore I've seen prices as high as 33% buyer premium plus they charge you an extra 3% if you pay by credit card and when you go to contact their shipper believe me because they know it's an auction site. They charge you double or triple what you could've had it shipped for regularly. Yes I was getting the point. I'm just gonna have to stop using this site. They need to make some serious changes and cost is one of the most important factors great idea, overprice and poorly managed

I recently bought an item and when I got it home realized it had an undisclosed major structural defect that makes the item worthless. I contacted what turns out to be a 2nd rate incompetent auction house but got nothing but denial, stonewalling and victim playing, never owning up to their misrepresentation. They blatantly concealed this defect, even after I asked specific questions, they made up a quick 'fix' for a defect that can't be fixed. I contacted Liveauctioneers, they responded once, saying they're on it and I never heard from them again. They will allow this dishonest auction house to operate on their platform and will allow other bad auction houses to do the same. Liveauctioneers is a conduit for pirates to make large amounts of money by swindling trusting internet bidders. Liveauctioneers works for dishonest auction houses, end of story. Do not use them, there are other ways to get "stuff", because the stuff you'll get through this bidding platform probably isn't what you think you'll get, and also, you'll pay more for your bogus item.

Tip for consumers:
Do not use this auction source, no matter what it is you want to buy from them. It probably isn't as described. You'll get no refund, you'll get stonewalling and denial.

I love being able to follow auctions over North America but the site navigation could be much better. It should easier to get to auctioneers I follow to see upcoming auctions and I should be able to choose whether simply follow my local auction house or collect a certain type or both. At present it's very confusing and as I only on the site intermittently I just gave up.

I LOVE THIS SITE FOR DEALS! I am a longtime customer of this website, and have purchased from quite a few of their auction houses. You do, however, have to find your own shipper.

I am in the industry and use the site often. I have contacted LiveAuctioneers multiple times regarding the blatant selling of fake items and about "auctioneers" hosting auctions that aren't really legitimate. Some of these companies exclusively sell fakes or post egregiously high estimates and run up bidding phishing for a legitimate bid. LiveAuctioneers will politely respond but turn a blind eye. They are losing reputable companies and becoming dominated by fakers.

Tip for consumers:
Beware. Research each auction house. The reputable ones will have a storefront, street address and recorded history in the industry. Know what you are buying.

Products used:
Purchased three times from legitimate auctioneers. Bidding platform is tedious but works. LiveAuctioneers as a hosting company is unethical.

I have watched for weeks now auctions on this site of 1 oz gold bars and in every instance the "buyer" is paying more than the spot price for gold before they get the 20% buyer's premium and in some cases taxes. How is this possible? Are they stupid and don't realize they can buy gold bars at retail for less and gold bars of that size bear no federal taxes. Also, I've participated in auctions here where higher bids get withdrawn at the last moment. Sure feels like bid rigging.

I've been in many live auctions on eBay, and the bidding activity on liveauctioneers.com looks so unnatural. It looks like sellers can generate artificial bids that magically reach a prespecified target price. The items don't actually sell, but then get re-listed again.

I never see reviews for these supposedly "sold" items. And the "final" prices are 5x higher than on eBay. Totally unrealistic.

This site is a total scam and they should be sued for price fixing.

Do NOT use this site, there is evident price fixing and gouging.

I typically abstain from auctions as shipping and house % on items occasionally exceeds the value. However, I decided to once again dabble in the excitement. Of course, paid too much once the fees were all calculated, but the customer service was outstanding…at least for one auction house. With the current Covid situation, staff is short for processing invoices, packaging and shipping. I was pleased my item was sent quickly, personally attended to by Julie.

Would give this a zero if I could. The SHIPPING COSTS are OUTRAGEOUS. Complete scam. To ship a painting that was 26 pounds, I had to pay over $400! They drop these off at UPS so that you are put into a situation where you have a final sale item and then UPS can charge you whatever they want and you can't complain because UPS is just the messenger. I will never buy an item from this company again. STEER CLEAR!
