Peer Review Process

Peer Review is defined as "a process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field". Peer review
Is intended to serve two primary purposes.

Types of Peer Review Process

Ø Single blind review: The names of the reviewers are hidden from the author. This is the traditional method of reviewing and is the most common type by far.

Ø Double-blind review: Double-blind peer review means the identity of both the author and reviewer is kept hidden. If the authors' identity is unknown to the reviewer,
It will prevent the reviewer from forming any bias. There are advantages and
Disadvantages associated with double-blind reviewing here are some of the
More common ones.

Ø Open review: Reviewer and author are known to each other.

Lupine Publishers Peer Review Process:

Peer review process begins with when an author completes a research study and writes a manuscript that describes the purpose, experimental design, results, and conclusions
Of the study. The scientist then submits this paper to a suitable journal that specializes in a relevant research field, a step referred to as pre-submission.

The editors of the journal will review the paper to ensure that the subject matter is in line with that of the journal, and that it fits with the editorial platform. Very few papers pass this initial evaluation. If the journal editors feel the paper sufficiently meets these requirements and is written by a credible source, they will send the paper to accomplished researchers in the field for a formal peer review.

Lupine Publishers follow double blind peer review process.

As the identity of both author and editor are kept hidden it will prevent the reviewer from forming any bias. So, we will get high quality manuscripts. Coming to the double bling peer review process which is followed by our Lupine Publishers is when an article is submitted by the author to our journal then we will assign this article to our journal editors who are experts in that research field without mentioning author details. Then the editor will review the article whether it will fall under the scope of our journal or not then after getting review comments and acceptance from those editors we will proceed for the further process i. E., gallery proof and PDF of the manuscript. If the article does not meet the standards of our journal then we will ask the authorfor the revised manuscript without mentioning editor details and after getting revised manuscript then again, we will assign the revised manuscript to our journal editors.

Thus, the articles which can meet the good scientific standards in acknowledge and build upon other work in the field, rely on logical reasoning and well-designed studies etc. are accepted for publication. In this peer review process once it is accepted by the Editor for publication within 1 week the article will be published. Thus, the peer-reviewed articles provide a trusted form of scientific communication. Even if the author is unfamiliar with the topic,
We can trust peer-reviewed work which meet certain standards of scientific quality. Since scientific knowledge is more cumulative and builds on itself, this trust is particularly important. Once a piece of scientific research passes through peer review and is published then we should trust the publishers which follow the Peer Review Process.

Peer Review Process functions to encourage authors to meet the accepted high standards of their discipline and to control the dissemination of research data to ensure
That unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations or personal views are not
Published without prior expert review. Peer review is intended to serve two primary purposes. Firstly, it acts as a filter to ensure that only high-quality research is published, especially in reputable journals, by determining the validity, significance and originality of the study. Secondly, peer review is intended to improve the quality of manuscripts
That are deemed suitable for publication. Peer reviewers provide suggestions to authors on how to improve the quality of their manuscripts and identify any errors that need correcting before publication.

Open Access Journals:
Lupine Publishers live in a society that is increasingly Internet-centric, and this move in the way that we, connect, share, and do business with each other has deeply impacted scientific research and academic publishing. Open access is a broad international academic movement that seeks free and open online peer review process to academic information, such as publications and data.

There are two routes in the open access. They are:
Gold Open Access
Green Open Access

Gold Open Access: It means the final version of an article can permanently accessible to everyone, immediately after publication at a free of cost and it will not restrict the authors technically, legally in any manner. Copyright for the article is retained by the authors and most of the permission barriers are removed. It also allows the re-use of the work if the authors are acknowledged and cited as they retain the copyright. They also usually licensed under a more liberal license. Simply allowing everyone with an internet connection to read the content does not constitute gold open access.

Green Open Access: It is also referred as self-archiving. It is the practice of placing a version of an author's manuscript into a repository, making it freely accessible for everyone. The version that can be deposited into a repository is dependent on the funder or publisher. Unlike Gold Open Access the copyright for these articles usually sits with the publisher, the title and there are restrictions as to how the work can be reused. There are individual self-archiving policies by journal or publisher that determine the terms and conditions.

Based on those two types of open access, in one word we can say that, the content published via the Gold Open Access route is accessible immediately on publication, while manuscripts deposited via the Green Open Access route may, in many cases, be made accessible only once a self-archiving embargo period has elapsed. Lupine Publishers probably uses Gold Open Access type only.

Foundation of Open Access:
The term "open access" itself was first expressed in three public statements in the 2000s: the Budapest Open Access Initiative in February 2002, the Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing in June 2003, and the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities in October 2003. Later, Green and Gold open Access has become more common for publishing of articles, but still Green Open Access is more acceptable.

Why Lupine Publishers uses Open Access Policy?
Several research papers have shown that open access articles are viewed more often than articles that are only available to subscribers and are cited more often. Open access papers fasten the step of scientific enquiry. There are some of the abilities why we should use only open access journals other then any subscription journals.

Fastest impact
Wider Collaboration
Increased Interdisciplinary conversation
Visibility
Cost

Based on all these abilities Lupine Publishers uses Open Access Policy.

No, only some articles get peer reviewed process. Only Research article, Review article and case study require peer review process. Peer review is the processes of not just medical journals but of all of science. Each article, which is submitted for publication in a journal, according to the access quality and the established standards of practice, must pass through a peer-review process. The articles go through a peer-review process, without the authors' names, and this is a blind process. We can do Peer-review an article by two experts. A search for an appropriate peer-reviewed is the most complex part in the scope of responsibilities of the editor. Theoretically, everyone wants gladly to review article. In practice, every fourth petition for review of a certain work is accepted. Each reviewer receives copy of the journal, for which he/she writes its opinion on the above-mentioned work.

In academic journals, the goal of peer review is to assess the quality of articles submitted for publication in a scholarly journal. A peer-reviewed journal will not publish articles that fail to meet the standards for a given field, peer-reviewed articles that are accepted for publication demonstrate the best research practices in a field.

Before an article is to be published in a peer-reviewed journal, it must undergo the following process:
The author of the article will submit article to the journal editor who forwards the article to experts in the field because the reviewers specialize in the same area as the author, they considered the author's peers.
These reviewers are charged with carefully evaluating the quality.
The peer reviewers check the manuscript for accuracy and estimate the validity of the research methodology and procedures.
If necessary, they suggest revisions. If article receive any lacking in scholarly validity and rigor, they reject it.

Features of a Peer-Reviewed Article
When you are determining whether the article you found is a peer-reviewed article, you should consider the following. If the articles have the following features:

1. Been published in a scholarly journal.
2. An overall serious thoughtful tone.
3. Usually not always but more than 10 pages in length.
4. Ab abstract on the first page.
5. Organization by headings such as Introduction, Literature Review, and Conclusion.
6. Citation and a bibliography or reference list at the end.
7. Credentialed authors affiliated with a research institute or university.
8. If your field is social or natural science, is the article divided into sections with headings such as those listed below:
Introduction
Theory or background
Methods
Literature review
Subject
Result
Discussion
Conclusion

After the review results and insight into the work, editor rejects or accepts a certain article.

I have been approached by Lupine staff twice, asking me to write an article for their "Current Trends in Computer Sciences and Applications". The first time, I complied, as they were requesting a short text for their first-ever magazine; the second time, I sent a longer text ("review article"). Both times I insisted I would happily write for them, but would not be paying them to publish me -- and yes, after some insistence, I was "waived" 100% of the processing fee.
So far, so good.
However, for my second article, it was:
- Not peer reviewed, but published just as I sent it. That's not acceptable practice for an academic publication!
- In order to fit their style, my manuscript was mangled; paragraphs were cut and joined with no regards for readability; mathematical expressions were rendered incomprehensible; related figures were separated.
I have contacted them repeatedly, pointing out the issues I found (and that leave my work in bad light!), but have been downright ignored.

I have received a regular stream of emails from this organisation, asking me in flattering but illiterate terms to write articles in journals which have no connection to my actual field of study. I notice that the latest one comes on behalf of something called the 'Journal of Anthropological and Archaeological Sciences'. This sounds remarkably similar to the 'Journal of Archaeological and Anthropological Sciences', a perfectly legitimate publication from the Springer stable. In commercial terms, this would be known as 'passing off'. I note with interest that the glowing five star reviews on this website have the same breathless style of what they used to call 'Babu English' as the emails that I have received, and clearly come from the publishers themselves.

Open access journals provide easier and quicker information regarding different topics and subjects to move for new projects. Teachers, Doctors, Engineers use the most relevant information with availability. Moreover, when knowledge and ideas go free, it contributes to improved knowledge, research, education, and economic growth. In a survey of both science and social science authors revealed that the open access publications are read more widely is the most common reason for deciding to publish in an open access journal. The greater visibility achieved with open access may allow you to reach potential collaborators more easily. There are some open access publishers who provide different journal's information to Scientists, Doctors and Students like Lupine Publishers, Juniper Publishers, Iris Publishers, Biomed Publishers etc. Lupine Publishers cover many important journals which include Science Journal, Research Journals, life sciences journals, clinical journals, pharmaceutical sciences journals, environmental journals, engineering journals etc. While the Lupine Publishers has been freely available online to all for several years, like many other scholarly journals is not at present an open access publication. You must subscribe to the journal, either through a personal subscription or through professional society membership dues. Only subscribers then have complete access to a journal's online version; an outsider doesn't.
Additionally, online articles will be available to educators and the general public, most of whom do not have access to expensive journal subscriptions. It covers some small fee at the time of submission to cover editorial and peer review related costs. An open access publication typically charges range from $8 to as much as $1599 according to high middle low-income countries and depending upon article type. In some cases, when authors genuinely do not have the means to pay publication fees, they can apply for full or partial waivers, depending on their financial capability. Many academics acknowledge submitting articles to open access journals or to ones that have reasonable subscription costs but still they place more importance on brand-name journals because publication in such journals can increase their chances of being promoted, gaining tenure, and obtaining funding for grant proposals. Here are some important open access journals Biochemistry Journals, Agriculture Journals, Biomedical Sciences Journals, Chemistry Journals etc.
Article Publishing in any peer reviewed journal will always require some degree of delay from submission to acceptance and finally to publication. The main reason why authors publish their article in open access publishers is to make their articles more openly accessible that will maximize their research impact. There are higher citation rates for open access authors. The Directory of Open Access scholarly Resources (RAOD) synthesizes information about open access journals and is a subset of the ISSN register. SHERPA is the international publishers that allow the published version of articles to be deposited in institutional repositories. The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) contains over 12,500 peer-reviewed open access journals for searching and browsing.

This is an example of predatory publishing: little or no concern for quality, anything is published, no readership of the journals and no impact. For any serious academic, publishing here and not publishing at all are the same.

Lupine Publishers LLC is the biggest group of predatory publishers on the internet today. I have been a victim of their fraud. The publishing house has successfully scammed 600 dollars out of my bank account along with countless precious hours of my life.

I wanted to publish a children's book that contained rhymes and short stories. After looking up a few publishing houses on the internet, I came across the Lupine Publishers LLC. Initially, the Lupine Publishers LLC seemed very genuine and there was almost no hint of a scam at all. I had no clue that I was being looped in by the fake good image created by these predatory publishers. After searching for a while, I came across a couple of negative reviews and complaints against Lupine Publishers LLC on a couple of different websites. However, the number of positive reviews clearly outnumbered the few negative reviews against Lupine Publishers LLC. So, I decided to go ahead with the Lupine Publishers LLC despite the few negative reviews on the internet.

I contacted the Lupine Publishers LLC back in May 2018 for the book that I wanted to publish. I dropped a mail at their official ID listed on the website. As soon as I dropped the email I received an automated response which stated that Mike from their team will contact me back in 24 hours. To be honest, I was genuinely impressed with Lupine Publishers LLC since I did receive a call from Mike the very same day! With such a commitment to customer satisfaction, I was sure that I was going to have a pleasant experience with Lupine Publishers LLC. I never expected the predatory publishers to provide such a bad customer service experience.

Who knew that the experience would eventually turn out to be anything but pleasant. With the initial impressions, the con publishers at Lupine Publishers LLC seemed very professional. The first call with Mike was friendly and simple. Mike genuinely seemed interested in my book and urged on publishing it soon. With an extremely friendly tone and great on-call experience Mike never made me feel that he was part of a group of con publishers.

After the call, I received another email, this time directly from Mike. I was a little surprised to see that Mike sent me an email from his personal Gmail ID instead of the official Lupine Publishers LLC one. On this email, Mike asked me to share a soft copy of my book so that his team can proofread and review it. I did not suspect anything fishy here with Lupine Publishers LLC, so I sent him the soft copy immediately. Mike said that he will review the book and get back to me in one month.

At this time, I started suspecting the foul intentions and truth in the negative reviews against the Lupine Publishers LLC. My book was only 56 pages long. So, I wondered why would Lupine Publishers LLC take a month to review it. Anyways, I played along with the tricks of these predatory publishers for a while.

After 10 days, I received another email from Lupine Publishers LLC. This time, Mike said that he needed 1000 dollars from my end so that they can correct all the grammatical errors in my book. Now, my suspicion for a scam grew deeper. Why did Lupine Publishers LLC need 1000 dollars to correct grammatical errors? I have been writing for 3 decades now and I am pretty sure that my written skills are good. I rarely make any grammatical or spelling errors. I was detecting fraud and thought about lodging a complaint against at Lupine Publishers LLC.

I responded to Mike saying that I cannot send them 1000 dollars since I do not think that the book requires any grammatical corrections. I had caught the Lupine Publishers LLC red-handed. Mike responded back saying that I am right and that the previous email was not meant for me. Instead, they planned on sending the email to someone else.

The predatory publishers at Lupine Publishers LLC were starting to show their true colours. I wanted to back out of the deal, but I had already shared my book with them. So, I decided to play along. After a week, Lupine Publishers LLC again sent me an email asking for 600 dollars to add pictures and send me a copy of the book. I thought that this was a genuine request since it was a kid's book. So, I transferred 600 dollars to the Lupine Publishers LLC account.

To my surprise, I never received any receipt or invoice confirmation email from Lupine Publishers LLC. After a couple of days, I tried contacting Mike for the receipt but his phone number was now unreachable. Now I thought that all the negative reviews against Lupine Publishers LLC were in fact true. So, I tried dropping another email to both the official email of Lupine Publishers LLC as well as Mike. Both the emails bounced.

Now, I was sure that Lupine Publishers LLC was a group of predatory publishers. I had no other way to contact or register a complaint against Lupine Publishers LLC anymore. I did not have an invoice copy too which I could show to the necessary authorities.

Getting into business with the predatory publishers at the scam run by Lupine Publishers LLC was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I wish I never heard the name of Lupine Publishers LLC in the first place.

I am posting this complaint and negative review against the con publishers at Lupine Publishers LLC on this forum so that other writers like me can stay away from this fraud. I have also lodged a complaint against the predatory publishers in several other forums asking the people to ban them so that they can stop their con business.

I advise every member of this author community to stay away from the con publishers at the Lupine Publishers LLC to save their precious time as well as money.
