“We (my girlfriend and I) ordered a $1700. 00 Steam Shower...”

We (my girlfriend and I) ordered a $1700. 00 Steam Shower enclosure from this company on a Monday. We ordered it because they said it was ‘In Stock'. Time was of the essence because we were moving into a new house in a week or so and needed it to complete the bathroom renovation. My girlfriend, who made the initial contact, he told them of the situation and they said 'no problem'. We plunked the money down and waited. The following Monday we received a call from their "customer service' (Wendy) rep who stated that model was NOT IN STOCK. So we chose another. My girlfriend then called on Wednesday to get a tracking number as our move in date was 2 days away. There was no tracking number, it had not been shipped. I called the next day, on Thursday, and was told it it still had not been ship. My girlfriend and I conferred and decided that since there had been nothing but disappointment and runarounds from this company it was time to cancel the order and find another company. As my girlfriend called to cancel the order. She was told that we would be charged $80.00 to cancel she agreed to it. Wendy then called me and asked why we were cancelling. I mentioned that we were on a time sensitive schedule and they were holding us up. She stated (falsely) that she had never been told this. That also by "their contract" (which she now stressed WE should have read) they don't have to ship for 3-5 business days. That if i cancelled now i would be losing money and that she was "only calling me back because she was trying to SAVE me money" Something a legitimate business would do by giving a discount for their foul ups never occurred to her. I asked if I could speak with the 'manager/boss' about this and was told emphatically by Wendy "There Is No Chance Of That Happening" What did i expect from them after two weeks of BS?, for them to behave as if the were legitimate or cared? Their very behavior was the mark of a scam company. I agreed to the $80.00 cancellation fee and then was told the 'accountant ‘ Rhoda, who handles refunds, was not in. Remember now, its a Thursday. Who calls in on a Thursday when they have Saturday and Sunday off. On the following Tuesday... Still NO REFUND. I called the customer service rep (Wendy) again at 12 noon, and was told that ‘accounting' department doesn't open until 1 pm. I was then also told that they have 5-7 business days (more fine print) to refund the money. Getting the picture now. Its a SCAMJAM ust like Saferwholesale. Com. In fact they may be worse. We avoided Safer Wholesale thanx to others who posted their bad experience with them. Seems now Steam Showers enclosures and Saunas are the newest bread and butter for internet scammers. What makes this even worse is that once your significant other calls, because you might be busy or for clarification, they play you off on one another. Stating they ALREADY told them of some little sniglet (like the $80.00 cancellation charge, or the 3-5 business days shipping BS) when they never did. Basically insinuating that your partners is untrustworthy,, It's Thursday now, TWO WEEKS LATER after the cancellation. NO REFUND... No CONTACT BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE INTERNET THIEVES
