OWC makes superbly engineered products, and the technical support is out of this world awesome. My experience with the products and the company has been the best possible for a decade. More than that, OWC/Macsales Support is the single best technical support organization IO have ever dealt with. Its people have uniformly been truthful, a pleasure to deal with, superbly knowledgeable about their own products, and better informed about technologies of other companies than those company's own support.
Clearly it stated I had 10 extra days to return my product, after the 30 days for return. However they did not honor that at all, even though I was going to buy a upgrade and give them more money. Very disappointing
Bought a $2500 RAID drive. Started getting imminent failure notice within days. Contacted customer service & got jerked around for 10 days & repeatedly told to "just be patient". Finally spent half hour on the phone with tech support who agreed they should replace it. After wasting a ton of time "updating their new system" (new in the last 10 days? Really?) he agreed to send me a new drive, if I forked over another $370 hostage fee. Umm, you already have $2500 bucks of mine & sent me a brick. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Item sold and shipped, just to get a return to sender request with no explanation. Made it all the way to my home state. No communication at all. When I inquired, they claim they made a mistake in pricing and the price is now double! These guys are crooks, stay away.
Tip for consumers:
Company should have close communication in cases where THEY made a mistake in pricing or anything else.

None because they stole it back before it got to me.

I bought a $2000 macbook pro from them, within 4 months (120 days) the touchpad started flashing everytime I opened it for about 1-2 minutes. I messaged them and they told me I only had 90 days to complain. They wouldn't even offer to take a look at the touchpad... nothing.
Please don't make the same mistake as me. Spend the extra thousand bucks and buy a new MacBook.

Waste of time, do not bother. Their items are refurbished but they are not of a good quality. They are misleading consumers into purchasing their products. You will be unhappy from the moment that you receive the device. Their customer service will promise to get back to you, and they do not.
Tip for consumers:
The customer service does not care about your complaints, and you will not receive a follow up from anyone on their team as they say in your chats.

I purchased a 4 drive array in 2019. The array included SoftRaid XT. The support has ended and I cannot download the latest software version. They quote the full purchase price to get back under support ($120) and then it is $80 a year after that. This array replaced a similar 4 drive unit with hardware Raid. Nowhere did the listing state that the software would need to be under a support agreement to stay up to date. I am done with SoftRaid and OWC aka MacSales.

This is unprofessional business. They canceled my order and they tell me I have to pay 700 more for item. Company creates orders then canceled them. Buyer beware. Check out Better Business Bureau of Chicago too.
Purchased a Mac charger, but I ordered the wrong kind (L-shaped plug-in), which was absolutely my mistake. Called customer service, but they wouldn't offer a refund or trade. However, they did upsell me an adapter (another $10 or so) that would convert my wrong charger into the correct one. That adapter works only sporadically, so if I don't keep checking on it, I can't tell if it's charging my machine at all or if I'm still running on battery. Will not buy from OWC again.
I bought a thunderbolt hub on their website. During the check out process I selected Next Day Air. The website indicated it would arrive on Saturday but that was incorrect. When the thunderbolt hub arrived I had problems within a week. I notice my Mac would have a warning to not unplug drives without ejecting. But I would check and the drives were still connected via the hub. I think it did this when I was away from the KB and the warning was just still on my screen. I tried to contact their support but due to time of day (my work schedule, 12 hour shifts and being on West Coast) I could only ever email them. I never received a reply. The problem would happen intermittently and then it stopped being a problem. I tried 2 emails. Then suddenly the hub stopped working. The power supply just will chirp. I tried to email again to support, was closed, tried customer service, took 2 requests for a RMA before anyone followed through. I would like either paid return or a refund at this point. Each rep I spoke to made me angrier. At first I was ready to pay to return, the second rep made me so I angry I wanted a refund, the supervisor he passed me onto made me angry enough to write a negative review.
Quality control is their biggest problem. RAM seems to work well, but external hard drives not so much.
Best external storage for ur mac and pc...
If u looking for external storage this is ur first choice u wont be disappointed trust me
Terrible experiencia bad service, sold me a defective unit, returned to service dept. on my dime, only to get it back in the same non working condition. Look elsewhere for your computer needs.

The OWC Thunderbolt dock 1GB port delivers less than 600Mbps speed. When I pointed this out tech support told me that the other chipsets use the "bandwidth" even when not in use. No warranty replacement, no repair, just suck it up. One of the f'n worse sellers on the internet. Buyers beware.

Only a few days past their 90day warranty - obviously a video chip/board going bad. Answer I received back was a "sorry - should have contacted us sooner.". No attempt whatsoever to attempt any help!

Very frustrated, a waste of time and money! - ordered an upgrade SSD pcie for my imac from them, when it came, it was faulty, did not work. (Also upgrade kit tools they sent were useless, fell apart, had to purchase them from a local diy store). So contacted them to say SSD upgrade was not working, was outside the 30 day refund period, agreed to an instore credit -had to send the faulty SSD back, I covered it, they refused to credit the taxes etc, even though their product was faulty and still under warranty. I had to ring to use my instore credit, was an hour on the phone with the agent making sure the new order was correct, even sent my imac system spec per email. Also I paid for a expensive UPS postage option that covered all import and custom duties. Order arrived, had to pay again for import duties! Also order missing important bracket to install SSD. 3 months later down a ton of money and time, still can't close up the iMac. Absolutely useless. My advice, order from Amazon, or find a different provider, if anything goes wrong, you are the one paying and keep on paying!
Tip for consumers:
Order from anyone with a good refund policy, and good customer service, that does not let you foot the bill for their faulty products and incorrect advise

I ordered a Sapphire Prism Radeon RX 580 video card from OWC thinking it was new. It was priced at $200 which is twice as much as a used card goes for on eBay. The product page did say it was used, but it was not very obvious. When I asked to return it for a refund, they denied my request and said the sale was final. Don't pay these guys twice the price for used goods and shady marketing.
Purchased an iPhone 13 Pro Max. It was described as being in "Very Good Condition" - Not exactly sure what "Very Good Condition" means in their terms but the front screen is filled with deep scratches. My 2-year-old phones look much better compared with this abused phone that they have sent. When I opened the package I first noticed the scratches. Now, I can't even turn it on so I basically bought a paperweight for almost $900. I called their customer service reps to see if I could return the phone. After about an hour of time wasted going back and forth from their rep to their supervisor(who by the way never apparently couldn't talk to me), they said that they would accept a return while I am supposed to pay for shipping PLUS a re-stocking fee. While years ago, I had a fairly good experience with them, it seems like their management has really changed :( I would NEVER buy another product from this company EVER again and I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this company to anyone.
ZERO stars for this company. Their SSD for my 2017 MacBook Pro not only failed but also bricked my computer. The "customer service" person was rude, and argumentative, and blamed my computer for breaking their part and itself.
Then, they would not pay the shipping to return their faulty product to them.
I recommend NEVER using their products. AVOID at all costs. (because it will be you paying the cost!)
Tip for consumers:
NEVER, EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. THEIR PRODUCTS ARE USELESS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WORSE!

I had to buy a new computer because their product killed mine.
Really awful experience. False advertising on a ‘new' product, that was not new and that never worked. I paid for the shipping to me, shipping back and spent countless hours of my time and friends to help plus Apple that couldn't help. Then being told after the 14 day return policy. Refund a minimal amount. Left with $250+ in personal charges with a product that never worked. Shameful
I purchased 2 MagSafe power adapters from OWC. They both broke within 1 month of the purchase. Initially, OWC honored their warranty since the magnets broke off inside of my computer within the first 30 days of purchase. I had hoped that both replacements would be of a better quality only to be disappointed again when BOTH replacement power adapters broke again within 10 months of use.
Same thing happened with the magnets breaking inside of my computer. So I called customer service to seek a replacement again only to find out that their "warranty" is only good for 12 months from the date of the ORIGINAL purchase!?! What good does that do on a replacement if you can't even offer the same warranty on the replacement.
Customer service provided ZERO care about their product failing for the second time and basically told me too bad, that is how their warranty works.
Honestly, I feel completely ripped off because now I have 2 broken power adapters and for the price I paid for these piece of crap refurbished ones, I could have just purchased new ones from Best Buy.
I will NEVER purchase anything from a company that cannot even stand behind their products. DO NOT waste your time or money on OWC.

Sent my order to wrong address. I messaged customer service immediately after item had shipped, but they did not respond until a week after I submitted the order saying it had already been shipped and delivered. USPS can't help me retrieve the item and neither will OWC. Trash company ran by robots with zero quality control.
I ordered a product over a month ago, which showed 7 day delivery times. I never got it. I checked back and if I ordered again, I would get it in 7 days. I contemplated ordering it again and cancelling the previous order. I didn't, my order is going to be another 49 days. Don't deal with these guys, pure scam artists.

I I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction concerning the failure to deliver my order of two Mac computers, which I had expected to receive on July 7th, 2023. I promptly completed the purchase transaction and made the requisite payment of $721, in anticipation of a prompt and safe delivery. However, this expectation was unfortunately met with sheer disappointment.
The UPS tracking number 1Z34A*******759 was provided to me for monitoring the delivery progress. According to the tracking system, the package had been marked as 'Delivered' on the specified date. Nonetheless, upon receiving this notification, I found that no such package had been delivered. Given the value and importance of the items involved, this miscommunication has caused a great deal of inconvenience and frustration on my part.
I immediately contacted OWC.com Sales Team, where I was reassured that this was a common occurrence and that the package would arrive later. Trusting their assurance, I patiently waited for the remainder of Friday, all through Saturday, and again on Monday, but the package failed to get delivered.
Upon contacting OWC.com Sales Team for the second time regarding this issue, I was informed they would attempt to resolve the problem and they were going to Contact UPS. However, to my disappointment, I was shortly met with an email stating they were unable to assist me further. This response, considering the circumstances, seemed incredibly dismissive and inadequate, failing to rectify the situation or provide any constructive solution.
The failure to deliver my purchased items and the subsequent inability to adequately assist me in the resolution of this matter is an unacceptable level of service. I am left without the products I paid for, while also dealing with the stress and inconvenience this situation has induced.
In light of these events, I request that my case be reviewed and that a suitable course of action be taken immediately. This should include conducting a thorough investigation into the whereabouts of my package and providing a detailed explanation for its disappearance.
Additionally, if the package cannot be recovered, I request a full refund of the $721 I paid for the undelivered products. Given the gravity of this situation, it is only fair that my hard-earned money be promptly returned if the purchased goods cannot be provided.
I trust that you will treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves and take the necessary steps to rectify the situation. Your immediate attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to a satisfactory resolution.
Tip for consumers:
Bad Costumer service and issues resolution. will never use OWC and will advise everyone I know not to use them.
Purchased a thunderbolt RAID0 enclosure last year that misleadingly suggests a three-year warranty on their website. But somehow because I bought it from B&H, (one of the premier photo/electronics retailers in the country), I only get a one-year warranty. The product was defective from the day it was delivered, but the problem went undetected until I started trying to handle large video files. What should be 600-900MB/sec write speed against my SSD array is more like 25-30MB/Sec. Not the drives, all other variables eliminated. Manufacturer admits their website warranty information is misleading, and offers me a kick-in-the-teeth 10% discount on a brand new one. Nice!
Beware!

They sell you open box stuff saying it's new. Comes with no additional accessories new stuff is supposed to come with. Return policies are crap.
Tip for consumers:
Their $#*!ed return policies and that "new" products are really open box.
