I'm surprised to see that the platform is still running even after several negative reviews have been posted against them. I used the platform some years ago and it wasnt an experience I like to remember. Basically they tried to hoodwink me out of my money, frankly they did but i recovered most of it from Finetouch Tech. Anybody with viable evidence can apply for restitution.

I opened an account with MoneyGram yesterday. I tried to send money today. My transfer was "denied" with no reason given and they closed my account! I think that MG must be scammers. When i tried to ask for a refund they said, "Your request is denied." They stole $1,500.00 USD from me. DO NOT USE MONEY GRAM EVER! I cannot add any "proof of purchase" because they will not recognize my username and password anymore...which would allow me to get back into my account. These guys are professionals, that's for sure!

I opened an account with MoneyGram yesterday. I tried to send money today. My transfer was "denied" with no reason given and they closed my account! I think that MG must be scammers. When i tried to ask for a refund they said, "Your request is denied." They stole $1,500.00 USD from me. DO NOT USE MONEY GRAM EVER!
I cannot add any "proof of purchase" because they will not recognize my username and password anymore...which would allow me to get back into my account. These guys are professionals, that's for sure!

Cancelled my 2 transactions to a friend in Mexico for no reason. When I asked them, they first hung up on me. Then the next person told me it was "for security reasons" they could not tell me. Then his supervisor read the exact same script the 2nd guy used. When I filed a complaint with Moneygram corporate, I was told "Upon review, it appears that your concern about the transactions with the reference number of ****2942 and ****6382 that was canceled without an explanation has already been addressed by one of our representative." This level of incompetence is astounding. I can assure you I will never use Moneygram again.

I am hearing disabled and have tinnitus. My mother has dimension and I had to obtain guardianship and conservator of her to manage her money and take care of her. I had send MoneyGram from our joint bank account. I went to Bank of America to set up a conservator bank account for her and against my will, they closed the joint bank account before a moneygram payment fully processed. So the bank account withdraw that funded the moneygram was rejected. I made the moneygram transaction from my personal account afterwards. Moneygram then closed my online moneygram account for disputing the transaction. I did not dispute it, when I notified the bank, they shut it down against my will. I had no control over it. Their lawyers shut it down and created a new conservator account and moved all the money into it from her account and our joint account. I explained this on chat to the moneygram representative and she did not care and did not want to remedy a situation that was beyond my control. I have been a moneygram member for many years. I will never use moneygram again. Moneygram is a horrible company and there is far better alternatives available.

I did the transaction and they took my money right away. After they didn't want to give the money to my family. I called and after 30 minutes of question me like if were a convict I decided to cancel and they took 12 days to give money back. ($2000)
Use western union, it's more expensive but they are very efficient

On November 4,2023 my daughter sent $100 dollars to my wife's polish debit card, which my wife never received. My daughter contacted my wife to see if she received the funds, my wife went to her bank, and found out that they do not accept direct deposits from moneygram to their debit cards, which are under MasterCard. My daughter contacted moneygram and canceled the transfer, and moneygram refused the money, but later took the money back statin they money was deposited on my wife's debit card. Moneygram launched a review and states the transfer was completed for the sum of 406.27 PLN, of which my wife's bank has no record of. MoneyGram has blocked my daughters account and refuses to talk to her when she calls customer service. Tonight I called moneygram 1 800 number and spoke to customer service, I called to find out what they do if a person makes a direct deposit to a MasterCard debit card, they refused to talk to me and I put my wife on the line with them, she speaks English but not very good, so they get an interpreter for her and asked for the transfer reference number, which she gave them, in which the looked up the information and told my wife to have our daughter who is in California and is the sender to call them, that they had investigated and found the money was deposited on my wife's MasterCard debit card issued by her Polish Bank, and in reviewing my wife's deposits back to October, she has no deposit of 406.27 PLN or any amount close to it, as all her deposits are under 100 PLN. Any time I was talking to my wife the moneygram agent was very rude and told me he could only talk to the recipient, which I explained I was explaining things to my wife who speaks Ukrainian, Russian, Polish and English. I finally demanded to talk to his supervisor, which he gave us a run around, and kept stating have the sender call, because they have investigated and they money was transferred to my my wife. When we explained that moneygram was refusing to talk to our daughter, he just keep repeating to have her contact them. When she called she refused to talk to her. I finally got to talk to his supervisor once I became irate with him, and when his supervisor talked to my wife it was a echo chamber of have the sender call them, which she can't because they have blocked her. I told the supervisor we will be contacting the FTC consumer protection. Then she figured out my wife was on speaker phone and refused to talk to my wife untill she took the call off speaker phone, we told her we could not because we was calling on Skype, so she ended the call. I will never do business with moneygram ever again,

If you an avoid this company, use anyone else! They cost more, they think every transaction is fraud, their confirmation phone system is ridiculously long, and even if your receiver has the authorization number to pick up the transaction, you'll have to call back in to confirm after they're denied picking it up. Even then, sometime they'll deny it and hold your money for weeks.

I send money thru money gram to my friend in Mexico he came with 2 id and passport still they won't give him the money, and wouldn't refund the money back to me.UNPROFESSIONAL

Money gram closed my online account for no apparent reason. Their excuse is that their security system was uncomfortable processing my last transaction. While unable to give me specifics details when and where the last transaction was made. While insisting that I proceed with future transactions in store. The last transaction I know I made was in store. Which means that my online account got closed due to me making an in store transaction. While they insist I make any future transaction in store. Unable to provide details for closing my account other than security reason, no details on what raise the red flag when I sent money to my fiancée in store using MoneyGram. I'll stop using MoneyGram and I'll recommend Western Union.

So December first my mom.sent me 200 dollars by money gram I went to pick it up and it wasn't letting me get it with the number I was given and kept asking for my mother's birthday and it's NEVER ever asked.for.that then froze the computer when went back after computer was restated and put in information and it says was already payed out NO it wasn't so called put in a complaint. The post master Here on the 2end of January gets an email saying g it's been all fixed NOPE new reference number put in it comes up as a SOMEONE else name not even MINE call back sorry the money was picked up NO again it wasn't this money was for MY SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDS CHRISTMAS! 😕 THEY HAVE LIED and keep making up stories as to why I can't get that money over and over it's BEEN a month damn well give the money to the right people!

I was recently double charged for a single transaction, so I sent a dispute out to get the transaction reversed, because i did that moneygram decided to close my account without any notification and told me that even though I was not at fault, that my account would be permanently closed.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away.

Literally piece of sh__. The SMS verification did not work then I had to contact support which responded like 3 days later.
When I finally tried to make a transaction, it got rejected. AND MY ACCOUNT JUST GOT BANNED?!
Only for live chat to tell me later, they have refused to provide service to me? You have my ID. My card which is in MY NAME and it requires a text verification, which went through. This is the worst financial platform I have ever used in my life.
THEY TAKE YOUR INFORMATION THEN BAN YOU! NOT SAFE! AVOID AT ALL COST!

I sent some money to Pakistan to save my relative's life who had to undergo surgery but money gram did not release the money to the receiver even after verifying their ID. So I requested a cancellation and since past 1 week they are telling me to wait for my own money to come back in my account. They need receiver's confirmation. I dont understand that? If I need my own money back, why do I need receiver's confirmation. The customer service is super non helpful and keep on advising me to wait as if we are waiting for my relative to die? I pleaded them t take fast action but all in vain! I am very unhappy and upset with all this and highly advise against using them.

Sent $140.00 in funds to a dear friend in Gambia, West Africa on 6/23/2023, and was told, when four days had passed, that there was a delay but that the transaction was in process and that it was too late to cancel and resend as a cash pickup. Three more days later, my friend's bank informed him that nothing had been received to his account despite MoneyGram telling me that the transfer went through.

Fast forward three months and 3 case numbers later and I am still trying to find out what happened to my money, as my friend most definitely did not receive it, which I confirmed directly with his bank over the phone, so anyone's guess why MoneyGram hasn't done the same. They still insist that the transfer went through when that is simply not possible. I am done with them. No one there will help me, they just sound like idiotic broken records hoping I'll go away. So, $140.00 is just gone, either lost or stolen and there appears to be no recourse for this.

Trust me, your money IS NOT SAFE with MoneyGram. Use anyone else but them to send/receive money.

They closed the account after 5 years and require me to go to the money center in Walmart now. Same person, same amount, every two weeks for the last 6 years. Customer service is worthless, will not elevate it to a higher level to get it worked out. They'll continue to take my money but just make it more inconvenient for an older gentleman with bad knees. Thanks for nothing.

Don't believe them when they say they fight fraud! When I reported that my moneygrams, yes 2, had been stolen they stated that they had followed their procedures as far as they were concerned. When I sent a photo of the correct ID I received no response! Rip off company that does zero follow up and that does nothing about fraud.

My bank wasnt working at the time so i naturally looked for other options, moneygram seemed good so i decided to give it a go, only to find out a week after i sent the money that they never received it! The customer service is terrible as well, they haven't helped at all even though they said that this is a 'top priority case'. If u have to send money this way, go for western union every time. This has been a nightmare of an experience.

I made a transfer that was supposed to make the money available with hours. That was on 06/18 at 8:30am. 24 hours later (06/19) I used the app again to file a request for an update. I received an email on 06/20 from a do not reply account with a case number and telling me that they are investigating and will get back to me and to email customer service for any further inquiries. After waiting and waiting customer service tells me that they need 90 days to investigate. I have asked time and again to cancel the transaction and get me my money back and all they say is sorry you have to wait. Completely unacceptable

I sent some money to a friend in Houston. He moved to the US not long ago and after more than a month the money has not reached my friend or was reimbursed. I keep contacting them on the phone and by email but they always find an excuse to not return the money. I am running out of patience. They abuse the customers and think that because they are a big company they can do whatever they want using the American law in the most preposterous way! I wouldn't advise anyone to use this horrendous company. I wouldn't use them again.

They seized my money transfer and I never got paid. Lost 700$ and I tried to make a complaint but the guy on the phone said they have no complaint departement. This is the closest thing to fraud. When the sender called they started asking alot of personal questions. DO NOT USE MONEYGRAM I LOST 700$

Scam! This is the first time I have encountered this, I have always used ria translations and will continue to do so. I sent the transfer on July 26,5 days have passed and it is still impossible to receive it. I tried to return it through the office, but the MoneyGram company is blocking the return of the transfer, I called by phone there, too, they doesn't do anything. And today they also announced that I have to wait 90 days. Is that what you call good service and quick transfers? If you don't believe me, you can check it yourself by case number *******

Please read the reviews first. I sent money before reading the reviews. After 10 days the transaction was not completed. I sent an email and never received a reply. I cancelled the transaction two days ago and they haven't returned my money. The fee they keep. They will only return the amount said, if they do return it. Don't use Moneygram. I hope MoneyGram pays attention to the bad reviews and improves their service. If they do, I will write a good review and delete this one.
