“Great service, and great mechanics!”

Bobby T.

"Honest mechanic! My car wouldn't start. When he arrived, it cranked right up. He let me know and said he didn't want to do unnecessary repairs. I told him to go ahead and change my starter, because I've been having problems for awhile with it. But it's nice he let me know, rather than just change it to make the money. Definitely recommending my mechanic, and Tung. And he was actually early!"

Their warranty is a joke! Not everyone who works on your car is certified. Keep looking. I whether deal with a dealership or friend who can repair vehicle for less money

The work was for replacement of serpentine belt and pulley inspection. Invoice was changed AFTER discovering pulley and not having the part after inspect.Offered to purchase & go get the part at auto zone 1.9 miles away but was told he didn't have time. Original work scheduled 12/9 cancelled less than one hour prior due to "weather" causing me to miss work.
Arrived late on 12/10, laughed at my misfortune bc I didn't realize pulley was damaged and asked for inspection. Charged 165 for nothing. That is how much I spend for a week of groceries. Not even a possible discount for follow up service to repair. Manager rude and placed the blame on me as the consumer because I ordered an inspection of pulley and actually needed a replacement. I'm not a mechanic and unable to tell everything that needs to be done. This is why I CALLED A MECHANIC! Do not use these people or Corey. I will be posting this on all forums.

I got an appointment, and the mechanic said he could not that day, and rescheduled for the next day, but still nom show, better off going to a shop, where you do not have pay in advance, which is always a bad idea.

Do not use mymechanic.com. They are terrible.

I had them come to my place to fix my jeep which had failed with a broken serpentine belt. They came out, replaced the belt and performed an inspection. The vehicle passed on all counts. With less than 50 miles of driving the belt broke again.

When I asked them to honor their warrantee they claimed that I did not ask for an inspection as to why the serpentine belt broke. They claimed they no longer had anyone sufficiently skilled to repair a 2012 Jeep Wrangler engine problem. If I wanted them to honor their warrantee, I would have to bring my car to a different mechanic, pay that person for a diagnosis, and them give the diagnosis to mymechanic for them to make a decision as to whether they should have replaced the belt.

When someone asks for a mechanic to replace a belt, it is my experience that it is implicit in that request that the mechanic might look to see what may have caused the belt to break. It seems like they had, as they provided a 50 point inspection where the vehicle passed with all 9/10 or better score. When I asked them about this mymechanic.com, they said that the inspection was not considered a diagnosis.

While repairing your vehicle is a great business idea, mechanics need to show up to do the work. Caveat Emptor!

Horrible. I used this site for a mobile mechanic because the reviews were good. The must use bots because I left a review and it wouldn't publish. I just needed a diagnostic and paid 80 bucks for it. The guy Travis was 30 minutes late but I was fine with that. He did not drive the car, just turned it on and looked at it about 10 minutes... did not hook it up to anything. He took a $#*! load of pictures for some reason. Then said. " oh your engine is bad"... not why or any details and I had to pay for that! I might sue them for my money back. Now I am taking my car to the dealership to get a diagnostic. Waste of time and money. Very unprofessional!

I had an appointment set up. No one ever showed up or called. I sent 3 messages to the mechanic... no answer. I sent in 2 complaints to customer service. No response. Guess I need to find a REAL mechanic!

They charged me a cancelation fee, when the mechanic was unable to do the job and change the cost. I was unable to do a reschedule so they charge me a cancelation fee. Don't use them. They just out to get your money for poor service.

My car would not accelerate & had a code for the catalytic converter. Even though I know nothing about cars I could not afford $2000 so I purchased a catalytic converter from autozone using my VIN number. I then scheduled an appointment with YourMechanic. They sent a mechanic named Mike out fairly quickly. When he arrived he acted as though he was in a big hurry. He glanced at the catalytic converter I'd purchased & said that there was not a "seal" that he needed to attach the converter. He ran a diagnostic at my request to determine whether or not I needed to replace the Oxygen sensors at the same time, which fortunately I did not. He rescheduled for a couple of days later. I returned with the box containing the catalytic converter to AutoZone. While there, we discovered that the "seal" he needed WAS in the box. I texted the mechanic to let him know. When the mechanic returned a couple of days later, he announced that my car has TWO catalytic converters- a front one & a rear one. According to the error code, I had the wrong one. He had the code at his previous visit, so I'm not sure why he did not tell me at that time? We had to reschedule AGAIN. This time he helped me find the correct converter & I ordered it while he was there. Then I had to go return the first catalytic converter. At the NEXT appointment, I got a call from the mechanic cancelling the appointment because his truck wasn't working. This was understandable, but still frustrating & disappointing as I'd been without my car for well over a week by this point. We rescheduled AGAIN for a few days later. This time the appointment was for 6:30 in the evening. The day of the appointment, I checked my phone in the morning & there was a confirmation of the 6:30pm appointment. That afternoon about 3:30 I checked my phone again. I had a message that was sent about 2:00 saying that the appointment was now at 3:00pm that same day. There was a second message sent at 3:00, saying that the mechanic had arrived. I did not receive a phone call or a knock at the door at 3:00. When I realized I had these messages apparently changing the appointment without notifying me, I did not know (and still do not know) if he had actually been here or if this was some kind of error. So I texted the mechanic & explained that I had gotten 2 texts & needed clarification. He did not respond. I called and he did not pick up. I still did not know if the whole thing was an error or if he was still coming at 6:30 as we had originally scheduled. I waited a while & called him back again & once again he did not pick up. I waited until 6:45 & tried to call him again. When I made this last call, if he had answered, apologized, texted me back… ANYTHING, I might have STILL given him another chance to reschedule. I understand that mistakes happen. When he didn't pick up & it was DURING the time the appointment was supposed to be, I KNEW he was obviously avoiding answering my phone call. So I called the company & they asked if I wanted to reschedule. I obviously did NOT want to reschedule. They asked if I wanted to reschedule with a different mechanic, but it was going to be 2 days again. Since I had already been without my car for two weeks, I opted not to reschedule. The rep made a point of asking if I wanted to "cancel" then? I KNOW they have a "cancellation" fee. At this point I reiterated just how upset & frustrated I was with the mechanic & their company & told him I was NOT paying a cancellation fee & would dispute it on my credit card if they tried to charge for cancellation. Fortunately they just went ahead & issued a refund & so far have not attempted to charge me for "cancellation". I would definitely NOT recommend this company & I would particularly NOT recommend "Mike" in Indianapolis.

Wish I had read this before I booked them to come out. My saga started with a visit to Firestone. My car had overheated (18 years I've had my truck and it's NEVER overheated)… I put water in it, brought the temperature down but my temp gauge continued to fluctuate. Took it to Firestone and was told I needed a flush, temp gauge and fan clutch… various other belts and hoses as my truck has 285,000 miles on it. They wanted about $800 in labor and $900 in parts. I took my estimate auto zone, and bought the parts myself for about $205 (Firestone has crazy markups, as most places do)… when I brought the parts they wouldn't do the work. Fine. I'd flirted with trying My mechanic. First quote (with parts) was $1400? I called and asked for a quote with my own parts ($1100). Cool. They booked it a Friday at 3pm. I didn't think that was enough time, the next available was Monday at 11. Sucked I wouldn't have a a vehicle for the weekend but ok. The mechanic and a helper arrived slightly late but no big deal, did the work… only took them about 2.5 hours (so about $500 a hour for labor, yikes… and I could have had the work done on Friday if I had known that… not to mention I would not have been cool with the pricing) but they were really cool, answered all my questions. BUT… they didn't drive the truck after the work and neither did I. When I started it up to drive to work the next morning, the engine was really struggling. High whine noise, difficulty shifting, rough idling, idling high and my temp gauge was lower than typical. I email them my issue as soon as I get to work. No response. I leave work early, call them and they can't get anyone out until the next day at 11. And I can't drive it. Daniel my mechanic shows up (again slightly late… but not an issue) and runs a diagnostic… I take him for a drive to explain the issue. Turns out he thinks the fan clutch is bad and continually running. It's also causing the engine to run cold. He can't get a hold of anyone at his company to tell him what to do in the situation of me providing my own the parts. But I asked him to come back and this time I would have him bring the part and one other thing he thought I needed (oil sensor) so it would be under warranty. I just wanted it DONE. He tells he has another appointment booked but he can come back in later in the day… that the company would call me in about an hour. No call. I call them after two hours and am told that a supervisor would call me. A supervisor does call about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours later… my phone didn't recognize the number and sends it to voicemail. Simultaneously, I also get a text with a charge of $158 to my credit card on file for the "diagnosis". I'm pissed. Her message (a Jennifer) states basically, tough $#*!. Your part, your problem. I immediately call them back (by the way, all of their operators are most likely East Indian and are a little hard to understand and when they put in the call for the service check all they put down is 'rough idle". I ask specifically for Jennifer the supervisor and they tell me that they can't reach her. I ask for her voicemail. SHE DOESN'T HAVE VOICEMAIL. They said she would call me back. It's 4 hours later, no call back. So… just be warned! The mechanic was ok (should have driven my truck though) and he wanted to work with me… I was willing to pay for a part and the work being done. But the company as middle man is horrible and it's a total rip off. My suggestion is go elsewhere.

We waited over a week for an appointment to replace the timing belt and water pump in our daughters car. When the mechanic showed up, it was without the part. For a Chrysler. (Which we could have ordered ourselves and had waiting for him in 2 days from any auto parts place). He then proceeds to tell us he wouldn't replace a 20 year old rubber timing belt since it jwas relatively low mileage. When we called for advice from other mechanics, every single one disagreed with him.
So... no part. No service. Bad advice. And they wanted to reschedule us for ANOTHER week down the line.
No thanks. The whole experience SUCKED.

If you book an appointment in under 48 hours, they will charge you if you try to cancel it. So if you are looking for a short notice service, this is not the first place you should book. I had the service completed by another company, but still got charged by MyMechanic because I called them back to cancel and it was less than 48 hours to the appointment.

There is an alternative to impersonal, expensive auto repair shops. An experienced, insured mechanic will come to your office, parking lot, or home and do basic repairs on your car. I particularly like this service because I was a pretty good amateur mechanic myself for 60 years, but I'm too old to do it any more. It's much more fun to have someone else do the dirty work, but I can watch, "supervise", and pretend I'm doing it. Regular automotive garages won't even allow you into the work areas. MyMechanic is perfect for me, and I intend to use them a lot in the future.

Not having to find a ride to and from a shop was the part I love but I have had a starter, brakes, rotors and a oil change all done in the parking lot of my job! This is the best thing ever! No worries about them trying to sell you on unnecessary things, very honest and I will never have my car repaired by anyone else! Thank you guys!

The convenience of having a qualified and professional mechanic come to your home, rather than hassle with getting rides to and from a business is wonderful. But the constant contact with the company and your mechanic on every step of the repair, explaining the entire process, the quotes, what the parts needed are for, is more than reassuring. My mechanic was so nice and professional, and I could look up his various credentials on-line. I know I will use this company from here on, and certainly ask for my mechanic, Diego.

I love Mymechanic, I don't feel cheated or that the cost of the repair was unreasonable. My Mechanic Patrick was on time courteous and worked fast to get the job done. He brought the part I needed with him at a reasonable cost so I didn't have to worry about getting the wrong part. He had worked on another vehicle that I own before and that is why I decided to call MyMechanic again.

If your on a fixed income, retired, you do have the time to research how much a automobile part cost. A quality part, better than original equipment. Sent free to your home. Longer warranty. (If you see the dealer mark up on that part, 100% 200%, 300%). It will make you ill.( You should have watched your (shade tree mechanic father more often.) How would you like a qualified mechanic come to your home and install it at a reasonable price.? Check out my mechanic. Com and see for yourself. Or let them bring a quality part, that you have approved, to your home and have it installed. A less expensive way.
