“Horrible Service!”

After 10 years of being a customer I suddenly cannot send or receive MMS (picture messages). I called over a dozen times when each agent simply tried the same exact script without escalating the ticket to a technical team. They never call you back and hang up on you if they don't know how to resolve. This should be an easy fix with your network! Ridiculous company! Do not use them! Worst ever

Verified purchase

Instantly disabled my data and voice halfway through the month and then sent the message below requesting me to call in for a special offer. How stupid is this scam? You disabled my phone so I can't even call! People on trustpilot are reporting the same thing.

"Service Msg: We apologize for any inconvenience, but we will be interrupting your phone service to deliver this critical service message: Your phone service will END soon due to the shutdown of the underlying network and you will not be able to make or receive calls, including emergency calls or calls to 911. We are providing a FREE OFFER so you can continue your service. Please call *******437 immediately to speak with a representative."

They forced me to switch the phone; all minutes worth $150 gone - no credit, to activate a new phone is about hours (!) of listening "pleasant" music and how they care about me. The chip one pays twice... if lucky

IIf I could give them negative 10, I would. They are the worst company on the planet. Was charged twice in Feb. Then called, got one charge refunded, then service was cut the next day. Been trying to call them, on hold for HOURS, always end up being disconnected when agent can't explain anything. They can't explain to me WHY I paid for a month and was deactivated in after they received payment.
Now, I can't even get through to cancel! Can't change or edit auto payment on their website to stop auto payments from happening. THEY CHARGE, RECEIVE PAYMENT THEN GIVE NO SERVICE!

I've been with Net 10 for about a year. I find I often cannot access the internet (even though I show LTE networks with over 4 bars, and I have had 3 times when "somehow" their settings made my phone inopperative (ability to connect to the Verizon system), and when tech support technician is less than capable, they refuse to pass you onto a supervisor. I've performed factory reset, checked all of the settings, removed and reinstalled the sim card, etc. I can receive texts, but any incoming calls go to a voice mail recording (that I never set up), and I cannot call out. The fourth call in finally had a tech that verified that it's net 10's settings, and are trying an update. I'm leaving...

This is absolutely the worst service I've ever had and am so disappointed I even switched to them. I have spent more on this phone in a month and a half then I did on 100% unlimited talk, text, and data from Sprint. Will be going back to Sprint or Straight Talk. I will warn everyone not to waste money on this company! Joke Service! Get with the times and get an unlimited plan that is really unlimited.

I would recommend these phones as a short term use phone. I picked one of these up to have a second number so my main one would stop being given out and spammed. I like that you only have to pay as you go. As I'm not that social I can pretty much do everything I need to on wireless. I wouldn't recommend these phones as a heavy phone user. I'm an apple based software user so android is a bit of an adjustment. I do not like that you have to search for every flippen thing just to use it. I have mixed feelings about these and I think I'll continue to use my main phone as my better phone.

I have been with net10 for over 14 years. When I found out 3G was ending I called to see which phone I could get and transfer my Minutes and number too. 2 people there said if I ordered the Samsung Galaxy A12 I could transfer my rollover minutes and continue my service. When I got the phone and called to set it up everything changed. I was told to buy a minutes card and call back and when I did they said It was the wrong card and wouldn't work with that phone and they couldn't transfer my minutes and they are not refundable. They said to send that phone back and the only phone I could transfer my minutes to was a RECONDITIONED flip phone. Now they say they couldn't transfer to that phone either and they WILL NOT REFUND on the phone they told me to send back. They said "I sent them my old phone for replacement, which they did." THAT IS A LIE and I have my order that shows the phone and price I paid for the phone. They rolled my end date back and refuse to correct it. Instead they aren't even giving me a month of service and said that I need to call them back on or the day before the so called end date to have them go back into there system and fix what they said they couldn't in December 2021and ends January 15,2022. I don't think they will fix it, and will just give me the run around again. I wouldn't refer anyone to do business with these people. They need to be put out of business! The people who work there are all liers and they pass you around and say they are transfering you to the corporate office when they don't. They don't rate one star but it won't take my review without at least one star.

I have put all the money I'm going to into this company of lies .They don't deserve any stars . They say anything to get you to buy from them and refuse to refund even when they tell you to send it back for a full refund . They wouldn't know how to the truth, they have lied so much for so long.

Well since Net10 is owned by Tracfone I have decided to post here as well as several other sites, I was a customer of Net10 for the past 12 years and recently around January of 2022 Net10/Tracfone made changes to their network as most carriers have going to the Volte standard.
We received a notification from Net10/Tracfone telling us that in February our phones would no longer work with their network and we would have to purchase new phones, we found this odd as the phones were Galaxy S9+ 2019 and were unlocked so we called them to inquire about it, this is when the nightmare started.
After doing some research online everything we read said that our phones are in fact Volte compatible so we called customer service, after about a 30-minute wait, we were finally connected to an agent, the agent checked the phones and said yes, they (our phones) are compatible but we would need new sims card and that Net10/Tracfone would send them to us free of charge.
I said great and we waited about 4 days and finally received them, I contact customer support to setup the new cards and after another 40 minutes the agent came back on and said our phones are not compatible with the new network and we would have to purchase new phones, I explained to the agent that the previous agent said that the phones were comparable and that is why they sent us new sims.
The agent then put me on hold and said he would check, the agent then came back on and asked me for the IMIE number of my phone and the number of the new sims card, after providing him with the information he wanted he then said that the sims card we have are the wrong once's and they are Verizon sims cards and not AT&T and we would have to go purchase new sims cards.
At this point you understand we were getting a bit frustrated, with that said I hung up the phone and went to nine deferent locations till I found Net10 sims kits, I returned home and called customer service yet again after about another 30 minutes on hold an agent came on and walked me though the prosses of installing the new AT&T sims cards and getting the phone updated.
The phones seemed to be working fine and the agent said we should be good to go.
Well, you would think our phones were updated and good to go but you like myself would be wrong, on February 24th 2022 we went to bed got up the next morning neither my phone or my wife's phone would not work, would not send or receive calls or text, at first, we thought there was an outage in our area and I used the net10 chat support to contact them.
The agent in chat checked and said yes there was an outage reported in our area to wait two hours and try them again, after about 3 hours our phone still did not work so I went to my moms and got her phone to call them yet again, after about 45 minutes on hold an agent came on and I explained that our phones had stopped working.
After the agent put me on hold for about 5 minutes the agent came back and asked for the IMIE and the sims number, I provided her with those numbers she put me on hold again while she checked, she then came back on and said that the sims cards are for new Net10/TracFone phones.
I informed her that the kits were BYOP kits, she said that they are not compatible and that we would have to purchase new cards, at this point I was getting pissed as our phones would not work, and now I have to order sims card yet again, I proceeded to order the card though her and she said they would be there is a few days.
After a few days the new sims cards arrived and I contacted customer support again this time it was only about a 15-minute wait, an agent came on and I explained to him what had happen and that I now have the new sims card they just sent me.
He asked me for my IMIE and to open the sims cards and give him the number on the sims card, but without a blink I notice that the sims cards were T-Mobile cards and I new right there that they were not going to work because we were told we needed the AT&T cards and I told him they said T-Mobile.
He said let me check after about 5 minutes he came back and said no those cards will not work, I asked him why they have sent us the wrong cards twice, and we have been almost a month without our phones working properly.
He continued by saying the only thing he can do is send us replacement cards, well this was the last straw I told him thank you and hung up.
This is not were it stops, we went looking for a new carrier and found one (NON TRACFONE), the new carrier sent us new sims cards and we received them in a couple of days, with the new carrier I did not have to contact anyone I inserted the cards and went online and activated our phone.
After activating our phones with the new carrier what know our phones now have VoLTE, WIFI calling etc., so it looks like our phones are compatible, ok so now comes porting our numbers over, we went through the prosses and waited on the porting to complete.
Our new carrier informed us the next day that Net10/TracFone rejected our port because the account numbers were wrong, and that I needed to contact them and have them release the numbers for porting because they could not submit them again.
Well, here I am calling Net10/Tracfone yet again, I finally got someone on the phone after on hold for yet another 30 minutes, I told the lady that I wanted our numbers released so we could port them to our new carrier, the agent then said we need to send you a text with a validation code, I said wait how are you going to do that when the phones have not worked in almost a month.
She then said she could send the code via our email accounts on file, I said fine I proceeded to give her the codes and she released the number, I thanked her hung up and within3 minutes got a text from our new carrier saying our ports were completed and our numbers have been updated.
Woo-hoo our phones are now working and everything is awesome we can now text send and receive calls and in HD quality at that, but wait it is not over yet.
After getting our phones updated and getting our old numbers working with our new carrier I still got screwed by Net10/Tracfone, my wife had her phone set to autopay every month so hers was easy I just logged into Net10 and canceled her autopay and removed her payment method.
My on the other hand was paid for six months in advance, I paid it like this so I did not have to worry about the bill ever month, I yet again contacted Net10/Tracfone after holding around 20 minute I asked the agent about getting a refund and the agent transferred me to the refund department.
Right away a refund agent came on the line and I explained that we switch carriers and that I was paid ahead for about 4 more months and would like a refund, she then took my number and said please hold, after a few minutes she came back on and said when you ported your number out to a new carrier you have forfeited any refund, I asked her to point out the policy to me and she refused and hung up on me.
Needless to say, Net10/Tracfone screwed me out of around $200 bucks plus all the time waisted I did contact a lawyer and he said he would look into it but I am not going to hold my breath.
After 12 years this is what you get, this is exactly why I by unlock unbranded phones.

At first I was impressed with their quality, but after a week of trying to activate my phone I was very displeased with their service. I spent about a week without service, when I called and set everything up they said a tower was down and they reassured me there was nothing wrong with my service or phone, then they told me my phone wasn't compatible with their service even though the day before they said it was perfectly compatible. I asked to speak to a manager, which they transferred me as soon as i asked, then they had me on hold for over 10 minutes! The reason i was transferred in the first place was for a refund, I was told that they don't do refunds of any sort by the manager, so I payed $50 +tax for NOTHING! I wasn't compensated for ANYTHING, they had no respect for the business I was bringing them, no customer is right policy what so ever! They kept me on the phone for over 30 minutes with the typical run-around saying my phone and my service were perfectly fine! I was told a tower was down and that was the problem, then the next day I was told there was nothing wrong with any tower in my area that would be causing the problems. My experience was a NIGHTMARE! I'm now switching to AT&T, hopefully my experience will be better than the one I had with Net10

I am impressed how bad this company is, horrible, cringe worthy junk. Decided that paying anything more then $30 for about 300 units of text/and or minutes is unnecessary for my cellphone situation. I went to store got two 1000 minutes $25 30-day monthly plan cards. Also paid around $10 for a new SIM card Bring-Your-Own-Phone. Oops this plan ONLY works with Net10 Phones. Gee wonder what the business motive behind that is. OK bought cheapest Net10 phone +shipping $17 total. Go to try the cards... Oops your new Net10 SIM card is not working properly... call company takes get this 2 hours 12 minutes and 43 seconds to talk to someone... on LiveChat. Not telephone but LiveChat. LiveChat costs a business nothing compared to telephone. OK, first customer service representative does not know what they are doing... probably because the company wants dirt cheap workers and is not willing to train them. Who pays the price for this... me. Second customer service representative tells me we will send you a new SIM card in 3-5 days. I tell her I need phone service NOW can I not just eat the cost and buy another overpriced $10 SIM card... NO you must wait. I wait 4 days nothing ever showed up. Get new phone and new plan with MetroPCS price is OK nothing fantastic especially since I know employees of T-mobile get unlimited talk and text for $9 month. Net10 SIM has NEVER come. Well these $25 cards are not refundable. Talk to new customer service representative OH sir those $25 1000 minutes 30 day monthly plan cards are for HOME SERVICE not cellular service. Wow, friend asks me why they have not been able to contact me I tell them situation they laugh and tell me Net10 is garbage company and that even if I did set up service with them the coverage would be so spotty with endless dropped calls. Tells me company is disorganized and incompetent you end up wasting more money then you tried to save. Wish I would have known. This company is garbage. If they gave me cell phone service for free I would refuse. Ended up wasting so much time and more money then I should have. Company does not care at all, as soon as they get your money its yeah whatever. Stay away from this company, Ting, and Lyca as I have heard.

I liked their price but when I moved to a new location I couldn't get a signal for 3 miles. I had to switch to Verizon and porting my number was incredible. I made 24 phone calls to get that number ported from net10. I called Verizon as well, no luck. My 25th call was to the FCC. My 26th call was back to Net10.
I said "i know these calls are recorded, I have the day and time written down. I am making you aware I have filed a complaint with the FCC and they are starting to investigate your inability to port my phone number". Well,,,, they promptly did a 3 way call with Verizon and it was solved in under 5 minutes. Kudos to the FCC, they followed up not long after and I closed my complaint, they never needed to do a thing,,, just needed to use those 3 magic letters.

I've had net10 since I can remember many years, my daughter pays 130 month for At&t service after using so many gbs she is up charged, I pay 45.00 month it's 50 but get 5 discount for having auto Bill each month, for that money I get At&t service too, my daughter says her service is better, um okay, so what At&t sends a signal down and says hey she's a net10 user don't give her as good service, ridiculous right, any way so I get At&t with unlimited talk, text and internet service, never any overages, oh and no long term commitments, no contracts, the bill is always right and the service clear, customer service is always good to me, you can bring your own phone which allows you 8 gigs at lte speeds then goes to 3 g. I have never ever seen any difference in speed, I buy an unlocked phone and a net10 sim card, if you want T-Mobile or Verizon you just have to buy compatable phone and sim, At&t is a GSM phone, there is no reason to keep yourself into these long expensive plans, I think the reason people do is because they get phone they want free... but these days there's plenty of great options for good priced phones, I use a Motorola these days I paid 200 bucks for it, it has Turbo charge something an iPhone doesn't have, plenty of storage lasts all day battery etc...

Update December 2018

Still using Net10!
Have switched phones
From Blu to Motorola. BYOP-BRING YOUR OWN PHONE from Net10 very helpful.

Still paying 45.00 still no problems..

In the Midwest we have a great deal of problems using cell phones if one gets more than 10 miles away from an interstate highway. NET10 works very well in this area as they use Verizon's phone network. Rarely have dropped calls.

My complaint is when it comes to buying a new phone if someone's current phone begins to malfunction. I bought a new one because the battery was going bad in mine and it would cost over twice as much as a new phone for the battery. I managed to use Bluetooth to transfer my data from my old phone to the new phone. I had 8 days and 850 minutes of service left as I use the 1000 minute, 30 day cards. After transferring my data to my new phone I tried to add a new 1000 minute, 30 day card to my reserve. Instead of adding the service to my reserve the phone kicked out my remaining time and began using the new card immediately. This angered me.

I called a customer rep at NET10 and was given the run-around. They would not put back my remaining days and minutes. So, I then took the new phone to the store that I purchased it from (a Walmart cell-phone center)). Walmart contacted NET10 and received the same run-around that I did. I didn't get my 8 days and 850 minutes restored. That has stuck in my craw. So be careful when purchasing a replacement phone.
