They secured two very appropriate local numbers for our mobile phones at a reasonable price. Took a few days to secure them, but once we had them, the porting took less than 48 hours to two diferent MVNOs. Had a snag with one of them, but NumberBarn was very quick to provide the needed information and help. Great service that I never knew existed. Thank you!
Not Worth The Trouble. Lackadaisical Customer Service. The ordering process is clumsy and somewhat defective. If there is a problem with creating your account, you won't be notified. If there is a problem with your order you won't be notified. Presumably, you could go for days before figuring out (on your own) that your order won't be fulfilled. Such occured in my case. For those lucky enough to acquire per their order, great. But I would bet a bunch of folks don't get what they were after. And one more point... if they screw up (which in my case they did), they won't apologize, they won't try to fix the issue. Heck, they won't even offer. Hence my use of the word "Lackadaisical" above. They just don't seem to care. I find this to be true of a number of California companies I've dealt with recently. So if vanity is your thing and worth the ridiculous hassle, go for it. Myself, there are other more important fish to fry. This company gets the boot, in my opinion.

These guys/dolls ROCK, it would be better if they posted a phone number, But it's the 21st century... And overall they do a good job.

Hi Jay, it means a lot to us that you would take time out of your day to leave us such a wonderful review. So glad you found a great number. And know that if you ever ask for a phone call, we'll call you.
The service isnt all that cheap considering you can get a legit plan from places like us mobile for 6 to 10 dollars a month unless u don't need forwarding. Also the customer service is email only and takes days for a reply there are better options
Hi, it was a pleasure to work with you to get your number ported to your new mobile phone service provider. I'm glad we were able to get this resolved. There are a couple of things I want to highlight from this experience.
First of all, because our numbers are classified as wireline, porting to a wireless carrier can take anywhere from 3-10 days. In your case, from the time we received your porting request, it took about 36 hours for the port to complete.
Second, in the case of port outs there is nothing NumberBarn as the losing carrier can do to expedite the port and there's nothing we can do to "release" the number, regardless of what your new carrier will tell you. The responsibility of expediting a port request falls completely on the gaining carrier when they submit the port. But keep in mind that there may be a significant cost associated with expediting.

Hi BJ, I think that I have located your ticket in our system and will attempt to reach out to you to see if there's anything we can do to help. It appears that your order may have been delayed due to our security procedures. If that is the case, we are working to make this better and apologize that you were impacted negatively by this.
Great service from NumberBarn. Rates are cheap to park your number. SMS still works for the same price. I had issues with SMS though but their support was incredible and fixed the problem. Will use it everytime I~m out of the country. Thx!
Hi Rodrigo, thank you for the awesome shout-out. It was our pleasure to serve you and we're always here for you whenever you need us!
I wanted to port a number from them, they did exactly what I wanted. I needed help with Xfinity mobile and they told me exactly what to do. The support team sent me Amanda to help and she was professional and helped me through until my number was ported over. It was easy and very inexpensive. They didn't charge me for anything else. I was able to pick my number and then I sent it over to Xfinity with all the information that NumberBarn told me to send them. They helped me through email while I was on the phone with Xfinity Mobile trying to get it ported. It was a good experience and I know if I need this again, where to go. My number was ported over on the 5th of February, 2024 and it was in my phone by the 7th. Thanks for all your help and keeping it professional. I will come back again if I need another number.
Tip for consumers:
I saw someone telling that they also got that done so I tried it and it worked out fine for me.

Porting a number over to my new cell phone
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It wasn't long ago that we struggled to port numbers over to Xfinity mobile. But we've recently made some good connections that have significantly improved this process. We're so glad to hear that you had a great experience!
Stay away from number barn if you want to park your number for a few months. They say you will get all your texts on the app but this is not true. I received 3 texts over 6 months. They could not find the problem. Would not refund me any of my money. When I needed to port out the number to a new provider it was very difficult and took over a month. When a number is parked it is considered a land line and mobile providers do not like this. Their app does not work properly. Avoid them.

Hi Lisa, Thank you for sharing your experience. A member of our team would love to reach out to you and see if we can help further but we're having trouble finding you in our system. We've asked for more information. Also, feel free to contact support and put it to "Attention Jeremy" and our head of support will help.
Great service. However, I need to reactivate my account which has may number that needs to be ported out. Please contact me.
Hi Carlos, thanks for the review. We definitely want to help and I see that you have an active ticket in our system. Keep us posted on how we can continue to help you out.
There is no phone number for service only email. My 800 number has been down since 10/13. I rely on that number for my sales. I left a message on email on 10/14 and numerous email on 10/16 to no avail.
Hi Joel, I'm glad that we were able to connect and improve your call forwarding service on your 800 numbers. We know how important your business calls are. Please let us know if you ever run into issues with this in the future.
I spent 2 hours on the phone with Xfinity Mobile today as they were trying to help me with my new number port out. They made several attempts and kept getting error that said, "The required field for the authorized name is missing…" It makes no sense given that my info matches exactly. Xfinity was kind enough to try to make a three-way phone call to get my port started, but numberbarn doesn't offer phone support. So, I sent an email and a support ticket from their site and no one has replied. I feel like I wasted $$ on a phone number that isn't even working! So frustrating!
I have since heard back from Matt & Jeremy and essentially I am being told, "Are you sure they have your name right?" Huh? Keep in mind, I have only a first/last name. One can't really screw up a name that's as simple as one as basic as a (for example) Susan Miller. There is no urgency to assist me.
It's been a couple days and I just received an email saying they "resolved," my issue. WTF?! My port has still not gone through! I'm still starting at a dead iPhone with no phone number!
I would like a phone number so we can resolve this issue quickly!
This is terrible!
Hi Suzette, I'm very sorry that we were unable to get your number ported to Xfinity in a timely manner. Please know that we are taking this experience and evaluating how we can do better in the future. Take care!
Take weeks to reply, doesn't have a customer support number, still being charge the full year although I didn't use the service and requested refund because they took too long to reply to the cancellation request. Highly do NOT recommend using this service what so ever. Use Verizon One Talk.
Tip for consumers:
Sigh says 3 to 10 days. It takes at least a month after waiting three weeks after initial purchase I requested to cancel due to no response from customer service, They simply wait to reply so your past the refund date to even get a chance to request for a refund.
Hi Hector, We're sorry to hear about your subpar experience. It looks like there may have been some confusion around how licensing numbers works. A member of our team reached out to you a few days ago to discuss this further. We'd still love to hear more about your experience and come to a mutually beneficial resolution.
I went to Number Barn to acquire a glamor number for my business. They were able to get the number I wanted and an alternate that could have been snagged by a competitor (extra $2.00/month). The phone number was available almost immediately for use and was capable of routing to my smart phone or my VRU.
I would have given 5 stars however the feature for adding the company name to the outbound dialer (CNAM) was not available as a feature on the site and had to be requested through customer service instead of as an option at the initial time of set up.
They are adding the CNAM to my phone line so all outbound calls display my company name on caller ID instead of the company phone number.
Customer Service reps are timely and were able to add this feature to my profile however indicated it takes up to a month to replicate across the data servers.
Tip for consumers:
Contact customer support immediately if you need your company name to display in the caller id's for recipients of your outbound calls. There is no additional cost for this feature, however you can only have the feature added by a customer support team member.

Hi Michael, thank you for your review along with a bit of feedback about our service. First of all, I'm glad you were able to find a great new number for your business.
I do also confirm that you are correct that currently, our customer support team can configure the CNAM value for your number. At some point, we do plan to allow customers to update this on their own and you can trust that I'm checking on the status of that project.
Found a great # and bought it. I had a lot of questions about porting over to a new Cell Company. They answered all my silly questions. After I signed up with my Cell company and had trouble getting them to post the "wire" line over customer support at Number Barn helped so much.
I am thankful I bought from them and not from another company. NB seems to want to earn you business. They have from me for sure.
Tip for consumers:
Just do it. They have amazing support

Could not work with Verizon. They don't use a system than can work with some major carriers. Wasted a week
Hi Rick, I'm very sorry we were unable to successfully port your number in from Verizon. While we successfully port many, many numbers from Verizon Wireless, we've found the process to be tricky of late with some of the changes on their side. We're working with our team to make sure we understand the new process and execute it to perfection. If you ever need our assistance in the future, don't hesitate to reach out.
No customer support, sporadic service
We actually need to speak to our customers so a number that works "sometimes" is not a great option. Customer service is beyond terrible, no phone support and takes hours for an "auto response" ummmk
Tip for consumers:
if you need a service to work and people to respond when there is an issue - NOT recommended

We're so sorry to learn of your challenging experience getting your account up and running but glad we were able to finally connect and get everything working as expected. We're always here to help anytime you need it.
Cheap phone bills, techs I've never seen anywhere else before (conventional big telecommunication companies or smaller similar virtual phone companies). I almost didn't want to post this to recommend them because I just want to keep this to myself.
Hi Alfonso, I know it was a difficult decision but we appreciate you choosing to spread the word rather than keeping us all to yourself!
So these guys claim they take up to 5 days to port. Not the case. We have Benn getting extension request at my new carrier from them almost everyday. Each time they request 3-4 days to port. Complete wait of of time. Don't port from here.
Hello Yuriy! Thank you for your comments. Numbers with NumberBarn are classified by the FCC as landline/wireline numbers. In the majority of cases, porting takes anywhere from 3 to 7 business days, up to 10 business days, to port to and from our system. When porting away, it is always recommended to have the gaining carrier select at least 5 business days out. This is what we communicate on our website and this is what we have communicated with you via our support emails. We know it can be frustrating when this happens, but so long as the gaining provider selects a date at least 5 business days out, the port is approved and the new provider does not resubmit the request. Each new resubmission can restart the porting time frame, which isn't fun. We look forward to continuing our work with you and to a successful port out to your new provider!
I paid for a Vanity phone number for my new business I am starting. My wireless phone company has been trying to port the phone number to their system but have been unsuccessful for over a week and a half. They told me it was Number Barn's fault at which point I reached out. The owner of Number Barn was nice enough to call me and stay on hold with my phone company which took almost two hours to get it sorted out. Great service! Thanks Guys
Tip for consumers:
They don't have a customer service line which is unfortunate however they do get back to you within a day or so and are very helpful.

Hey Chad, it was a pleasure to work with you to get this issue resolved and get your number ported. We definitely learned a lot through this experience and are working to improve as a result.
Numberbarn took our phone number of 20 years after our credit card expired. They did email us, but we missed the message and they took our phone number and sold it to someone else! They could have called! What a scam!
Hi Donald, I’m very sorry to hear that this was your experience with NumberBarn. We do make several attempts to reach our customers before canceling an account for nonpayment and it looks like in this case, these were missed. I realize this doesn’t help in your case but we are most certainly evaluating any ways that we can improve our billing practices moving forward.
My daughter went abroad for a year and didn't want to lose her number. For just $2 a month, we ported it to Number Barn. Very easy. She got her voicemails emailed to her in the interim. She's home now and we ported back to our wireless carrier. So easy! We saved a ton over having to keep the number active with our wireless carrier. Number Barn information is excellent. I almost regret not needing the service anymore since she is home. Highly recommend!
Hey Susan, selfishly we sure hope you'll have a need for our service in the future but we're so glad that it ended up being the perfect solution while your daughter was travelling. Thank you for this wonderful shout-out!
I haven't been with Numberbarn very long, but so far so good. I think it's great you can park a number for as long as you like for future use without having to get an expensive cell provider just to keep that number. Customer response has been quick. They display all customer FAQ quite well on their website. I only ported one number out so far and it went fast and smooth. I see what they mean by a port request expiring after a few days. I had an issue with T-mobile having trouble with a port expiring before the port can go through. You do need to ask for extra days on the port sometimes because the automated system will kick it out. I don't think most customers give this company a chance and understand the porting process can be different in every situation. I hope Numberbarn is around a long time.
Thank you for the wonderful review, Rob. He plan to be around for a long time and sure hope you'll remain a customer for a long time!
I am using this place for all my phone number needs of my entire family.
Was able to buy vanity number at a reasonable price and port out to my Canadian service providers without any hassle.
If the information submitted are in order, they are releasing the numbers in lesser time.
Many of the providers here are not familiar with porting land lines. That makes the process bit hard occasionally.
Overall great place for custom numbers.
Joseph

Hey Joseph, we're thrilled that you found the Canadian number you wanted at a great price! Thanks for the fantastic review.
Porting my number over from AT&T to NumberBarn was effortless. It only took a few days for the transfer to be completed. I immediately had access to Call Forwarding, SMS and Voicemail, using my same number. NumberBarn gave detailed instructions for setting up my account, and was quick to respond and offer support for my questions. I could kick myself for not making the move to NumberBarn sooner.
Tip for consumers:
It takes a few days for the porting process to complete. Do not terminate your old service before you are notified the porting has been successfully completed. Hopefully your experience will be as smooth as mine, but if not, the support team is there to help. I had questions on setting up my SMS and found them to be very responsive to my needs.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Ernestine! We're so glad you had a great porting experience. Also, what great advice for other readers. It's definitely essential to keep a number active throughout the porting process.
Nothing was smooth, they destroy you in charges not discussed in the porting. Nothing is selling and they made it sound like they are advertising like crazy when in fact they are not putting in any effort so they can continue to rob you with all kinds of charges. They absolutely will not take a phone call and says it saves us money. I am stuck paying hundreds a month for nothing.
Hi Larry, I'm sorry to hear about this experience but believe that our customer support team was able to work through these concerns with you since the time you posted this review. I've sent you a private message and hope you'll contact me back if there's anything else we can do to help.
Fantastic service. I was able to keep my number when abroad and port it back out a year later. All my text messages were forwarded immediately, which made life very easy.
First of all, we hope you had a fabulous trip. We're thrilled that NumberBarn could make your travel experience that much easier!
