Looking for info on oneshare.com The site lets you buy a single share of stock in many many companies for a $39 fee (or less if it's on sale!) Wanted to know is this is a good price for a single stock purchase and has anyone had direct experience with them?

“Refuse to pay for annual check up”

Antoinette R.
10/13/20

I had a cologuard test done with my annual physical and One Share Health refused to pay for this test. This test is mandated by the state of Florida for Insurance companies to pay for the entire test. I am filing appeals and making them pay for this test. One Share Health is a scam. Beware before you purchase it. Its not worth the money. They are hiding behind Christianity to get business from people. They are not worth your time and effort. Only cause a lot of aggravation and time.

They will pay for annual check ups but will sick you with major medical bills with a non existent "pre-existing condition". Took several months and lots of cash in members fees before they made a decision in the disputed charges. Not very Christian like.

They don't want to pay your hospital bill. We spent months trying to get them to pay something on the hospital bill and we did everything they told to do. Sending in paperwork and they refused to pay any of the bill. They are christian insurance and they lied to us. We pay around 700.00 per month and they never paid doctor visits or hospital visits. They are a scam. Do not use this insurance. They will tell you lies.

I've worked in the skilled nursing facility field for 10 years helping seniors who need rehab and this is by far the worst plan ever. It prays on Christian groups they deliver nothing I have a patient that has sat in the hospital for 10 days waiting for an authorization to get some rehab and they delay and delay on delay she will be sent home with no rehab services because the hospital can't hold her this is by far the worst plan I've ever seen keep your Medicare or if you need an insurance plan pick any other managed care plan and spread the word to your friends neighbors and church!

Stay away form this organization. This is a total scam so much for "religious". They take your money and don't provide any thing. In over two years of paying $281 only $30 has been approved.

Go through the marketplace to get your insurance. This insurance does not pay a thing. Blue Cross Blue Shield was less money after Gov. Plan and covers way more.

This is not insurance. They have refused to pay basic tests. I was then told after the fact it's only for "healthy" people. I'm actually a very healthy person, which is besides the point. They don't pay for anything and agents get good kickbacks.

We left our insurance Always on the recommendation of our broker. Worse decision ever. My wife spends 2 hours a week on the phone since Feb this year trying to get them to pay for anything. Admitted ER Jan 6th they then charge for every resulting medical procedure, as if it was a new one. Out of 20k bill they refused to pay 14K, finally down to 5K but my out of pocket max is 1K? They then changed the policy over night increasing the out of pocket max without a word? The stress caused by the time spent dealing with the health provider demanding payment and the One share clowns is terrible. This morning my wife has been handed off to 4 people already in an ongoing 30 minute call!

Do not get this they will not cover anything because they use the excuse that you get hurt or sick because it is preexisting or you were destined to get sick or hurt. It is always your fault for what happens to you. I did have a pre-existing condition I did not ask for any help(Diabetes type 2) with I took care of the doctor visits for that. I got sick and went to The Hospital and found out that I was diagnosed with an Extremely aggressive Lung disease. Within 1 month I was placed on oxygen (never had issues before) and within 2 months was in a wheel chair and unable to walk more than 60 feet. OneShare Has not paid anything for the Hospital, Doctor or oxygen I needed. As of today they say all was Pre-existing because I was predestined to get this disease? Then Why did we pay to get help? OneShare is not Christian based as they state and do not cover any thing. I have called multiple times and the ladies on the other end treat and respect me well, but when I ask for a supervisor I've only had 1 time out of 3 times requesting. This has now been in review for just a year now and I have been put on disability due to not being able to work any more. I have not asked to pay the Endocrinologist or for any of my diabetic medications. I have my Diabetes under control and it was not the cause of the Lung disease. I also never contacted Covid or been sick prior to last year when this hit. If I could give a negative star I would. The people that answer the Phone are great and treat well ( would give them a 5 star), it is the upper management to keep pushing off what they need to Do and I know that they hope that I will stop calling every month to get this resolved. One day I shall pass and The upper management possibly hope I do so they don't have to do what I signed up for. So remember everything in the future is pre-existing because God for knew it would be and that is why they don't pay.

That OneShare tries not to help with any bills

Before you do business with them, do your research. The clinic we belong to decided to no longer participate in this kind of plan, To get reimbursement we had to jump through several hoops.

Itemized billing statements
Provider NPI and/or Tax ID for each Dr and appointment
Dates
Diagnosis Codes
Cpt codes
Address

You then have to proceed to mail this is as they do not have a way for scan or fax.

It has also taken over 60 days to find out we did not have the correct NPI or tax Id #.

Again, just do your research.

Look at other reviews, look at the BBB and know what you are getting involved with.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes in January 2020. I had the OneShare Complete Crown plan, which is quite comprehensive with high monthly costs. I provided letters from my doctor explaining that the surgery was necessary; there was no pre-existing condition when I signed up with this health sharing service. Therefore, the first time they used this excuse to refuse full payment was debunked. Then, the second call I made (2 months later) the excuse I got was:" You have reached your out-of-pocket maximum." When I reminded them that the Lifetime program Maximum per member is $1,000,000, I was told "oh, there is a $20,000 limit per incident"... Excuse me? I demanded to know where in my plan booklet this "clause/limitation" exists. No response--just put on hold, and told "we are still reviewing your case". It has been over a year, and this has not been resolved. I have asked over and over again, and I will continue. DO NOT sign up with this ministry... they lack transparency and are certainly using every trick they can not to honour their commitment to "Christian" ethics.

Do not sign up with this organization. They will not pre Cert facilities for care so you have to self pay. They take so long to pay any bills the providers don't want to provide care. They request the same paperwork over and over continuously stalling!

They review bills, reduce the rate and then don't pay. THey pre-certify a surgery for medical necessity and then don't "share" the cost. I had to basically do all the footwork to help them get the necessary medical records and they are still "looking' at a claim from 8/2020.

I think it's best to just send a copy of the letter I sent to them minus personal info. Here it is:
Hello,

Why are you continuing to contact me over this dispute?

I submitted a dispute form, spoke with your representatives twice at length and called ****** Care accounting department. I was finally able to gain information on why this claim wasn't paid, after speaking to an accounting agent from *******Care. I was unable to get any of this information from your representatives both times that I called.
I was even told that this information (the reason claim wasn't paid by you) wasn't something your company (Oneshare) provides.

*The reason that your company didn't pay this claim was because of your policy time limit on when the claim was filed.*

*******Care initially filed the claim Aug 2020 and it didn't go through for some reason.
*They don't know why it didn't go through.

*******Care refiled the claim with you (Oneshare) again on Oct 2021

You, (Oneshare) responded to ********Care on Oct 31st stating it was an untimely payment filing and that you do not pay claims after a certain date.

*It was suggested by the accounting agent I spoke with, that you call *******Care accounting department directly. This is the info you'll need to contact them:

I requested a three way call with your agent the second time I called Oneshare to resolve this mix up and she stated she was unable to conduct a three way call. I then asked if she could call them directly. She stated that she could not call their accounting department. That is confusing. The accounting agent I spoke with at ******Care stated that they conduct three way calls frequently with companies they file claims with. She kindly unraveled why this claim wasn't paid by your company, after I had attempted unsuccessfully to get this information from you.

A few other key points:
******Care is no longer asking you to pay this claim. I was told by their accounting department that they're incurring all fees associated with this claim.
It is confusing why your company claims that my policy didn't cover the fees and that is why you continue to pursue this claim that you don't have to pay. This is untrue and misleading.
The language and wording you use in your communications with me, made it appear that you (Oneshare) had paid the claim and I was now responsible to pay you the claim amount.
I find this extremely unethical. If I were disabled, elderly or just couldn't unravel all of this confusing communication, I would have probably given up and written you a check for the claim amount, when it was never paid by you (Oneshare).
I am a true Christian and I find it reprehensible that your company tried to extort payments that are not due to you based on your confusing communication and being non transparent about why the claim wasn't paid by your company. I asked repeatedly about why the claim wasn't paid and was told my policy didn't cover it repeatedly. That was completely untrue and added so much time, confusion and stress to unraveling this mess. This seems intentional and I'm sure it adds to your profit.

This is a formal request for you to stop contacting me, or if you prefer we can go to court. Your company is extremely unprofessional and in my opinion, very unethical.

Please share this communication with your CEO. I think he should evaluate your company's communication and the way you treat customers.

Cordially,

***********

I have had Oneshare "Healthcare" for 2 years. I have tried to use it 2 times and both times the claim was rejected. I needed a mammogram in April. Prior to going to the lab for the Mammogram, I called Oneshare and the Lab called Oneshare to make sure they would cover the mammogram. Oneshare assured me that it would be covered 100% and I would not have to pay anything. I had the mammo in April. I received a bill from the lab on Aug. 8th for the entire amount for the mammo. The lab stated that Oneshare had not paid anything for the mammo. I immediately contacted by insurance guy. He tried for 3 days to contact Oneshare. They kept telling him that their systems were down and they could not help us. Finally, after 3 days they answered the phone. One share said that they had not received a bill from the lab. My insurance guy immediately faxed them a copy of the bill. After 1 month I received another bill from the lab for the full amount. Again, my insurance guy and I tried to talk to Oneshare. After a couple of more days, we were able to talk to Oneshare. They stated that they needed another paper filled out and a detailed invoice from the lab. I immediately filled out the paperwork and got the detailed invoice from the lab. I emailed it to Oneshare that day. After 2 more weeks, I contacted Oneshare again. Now they said they needed a specific form from the lab. I contacted the lab, who sent Oneshare the required form. Three weeks later, I received notification from Oneshare that the bill was denied because they had not received the bill in a timely manner.
ONESHARE IS A SCAM! They pretend like they don't receive the bill, they take weeks in between answering correspondence once you jump through all of their hoops, and then in the end because of all of their delaying, they deny your claim! I have been paying premiums to them every month for 2 years and they have not covered even 1 claim! I am a fool, but they are a SCAM! DO NOT TRUST THEM. THEY CLAIM TO BE A CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION, BUT THEY DO NOT ACT IN CHRISTIAN LIKE MANNER!

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE ONESHARE! THEY ARE A SCAM!

I submitted a bill for a preventive annual physical to One Share. The address on my One Share ID card was not the correct address. One Share changed it but didn't notify me. They gave me a new address so I resubmitted the claim. They then told me I needed to send an itemized bill on an annual physical. Just imagine what One Share will do to you if you have a real claim? Are you going to trust them? I think their product is junk. I'm glad I discovered early what a scam they are.

Had no problem ordering the DreamWorks stock in 2011 for my son's graduation. Received it in a reasonable amount of time. However, last spring 2014 ordered the Disney stock for second son's graduation and was told it would be delayed until September. It is now February 10,2015 and still no stock. Emails to OneShare are ignored. Disgusted and want my money back if they can't or won't deliver.
