Plan International USA

I have been contributing to this organization for almost 20 years and I also visited one of my sponsored children in Nicaragua. I saw what they are doing there with the local school and families. In addition, one of the farmers explained to me that thanks to Plan International USA, the farmers of that village did not need to go to Costa Rica anylonger as part-time workers in the coffee fields. They had learned how to apply the most appropriate agricultural methods on their own. Thus, I find sad that people get annoyed by the fact the the organization tries to get money for other activities in addition to child adoption and stop supporting children in need. I work for a consulting company and since 2006, in December, I have collected money for a child sponsorship. Fortunately, every year, there was surplus money that could be used for other activities (like saving a girl's future or health care for children) and thanks the information I had received from Plan USA, I could select which other activity to donate too. Surely, I could have seen that online too, but it was easier by reading the mail. Many highly reputable charities do exactly the same. Thus, my review was and remains positive for all the reasons explained above. We cannot let our comfortable level with too much mail be in the way of helping others.
