“Initially good, some problems but eventually sorted out”

Had trouble after a long time where they locked my wife out of her account and could not resolve it. It took weeks until finally someone assigned another account and we were able to get access once more. Thank goodness she was able to use the phone during that time. Its a bargain but customer service is online only and some not too swift people involved.

Absolutely no customer service support. No person to talk to about any service or support issues. Weak signal always. I am in southern Ontario so no lack of towers. Had no data for over a month and of course you can't get a refund for lack of service since you pay ahead. Left and moved to a real cell provider that at least has customer support and most importantly better signal strength.

Tip for consumers:
AVOID. Not worth the frustration to save a few bucks. I don’t even know how they are still in business. No signal strength even in densely populated areas.

My subscription term ended on Jan 8. So they put my phone on hold and did not inform me. On the 24th, someone sent me a message on Facebook that my number didn't work. (OK, I don't get many phone calls.) Would it have killed them to send an email telling me that a subscription renewal was needed? And now I am in a do-loop of trying to make a payment to be told they can't process it now, try again later.

Company offering the cheapest plan including unlimited calls and data (1 GB) in Canada. At first, I was a little suspicious because it seemed too good to be true. In the end, I am extremely satisfied. The only notable difference with my previous provider was a drastic drop in my montly bill from $ 40 to $ 23 (including the renewal premium of $ 2). Regarding the phone number transfer from the former supplier to the new one, a point of service such as Walmart does the process fast and well.

Customer service is done entirely by email and its level of efficiency is correct according to my experience. It involves contacting the administrators (PM employees) directly regarding a specific question or problem with your account, or asking the online community for general advices.

In terms of network coverage, Public Mobile (property of Telus) uses certain frequency bands of the Telus network. The coverage is correct in my rural area (LTE with 3 bands out of 5 on average), but excellent in cities (LTE+ with 5 bands out of 5).

I have just transferred my phone provider to Public Mobile. The transfer instructions from the website were clear and straightforward. With support from the Public Mobile community, I got answers in a few minutes. Plus, I could accumulate points after paying every dollar. The points could be used to redeem the monthly bill payment. Submitted two "tickets" for help neither one answered. Chat bot useless. Online chat waited 75 minutes only to be told can't help and to submit a ticket. I told them I submitted two with no response. Chat ended with no response. Ported my number over to Koodo same plan and actual person to talk to that was able to answer my questions and very helpful. Public also billed my c.c. For the next month of service that I didn't use and no refund.

Oh boy if you want to get frustrated and waste time then use Public Mobile. I have spent hours trying to change credit card information but to no avail. I can't believe how user unfriendly this app is. Do yourself a favor and use another carrier.

If I could rate it as a negative, I would! The most despicable service provider to deal with. The network is permanently down and they lock you out after trying to sign in once! No-one to talk to regarding accessing your accounts, changing your accounts or even to get help.
Everything is automated and no chance of getting assistance other than with a "bot"
Do not under any circumstances, however good the rates, go with this despicable company!

Been on our plan for 3 months with a trip to Maui and very happy.
I found if I used T-Mobile as my US carrier the service was great.
Auto billing is working fine as well

I transferred from Videotron to Public Mobile overnight. Started process at 10PM on a Friday and by 1AM Saturday my phone line had switched to Public Mobile. I took the eSIM option which was very easy to install (automatic process). 40$ for 50Gigs good for Canada and USA roaming. I often take business trips to the US so this was the BEST OPTION with lots of data and so much more affordable than other carriers out there. Previously I was paying 47$ (tax in) for 25 Gigs Canada/US. I now have double the data for 45$ taxes included! Plus Telus Network has better coverage than Videotron (overall). DO NOT switch to this company. You have to deal with robots or online forums. No support on the phone whatsoever. Signed up for a 6 months service, they couldn't activate my service nor port my number and they never refunded me either. Only in Canada this kind of business would be legal.

I rarely write review on internet but I had to warn you guys. Cannot even log in to the app. Cannot even chat with a real person for help, cannot get a refund for NOT RECEIVING ANY SERVICES. PLEASE STAY AWAY from this $#*!ty company. Public Mobile is owned by Telus, so TELUS SUCK

Transition to Public Mobile was very smooth from my previous service provider. Public Mobile also provided an ESIM so I didn't have to buy a physical Sim. Also Public Mobile uses the Telus network and their rates are cheaper. For a $10 credit at activation use referral code Z3ZP59.

DO NOT use Public Mobile! I had a relative visiting from Europe who needed a phone plan for a few weeks. My provider told us to use Public Mobile and cancel it when he left Canada. It was extremely difficult to get activated and didn't agree to ongoing charges. Then it was almost impossible to cancel. I cancelled by going online into the account, and then I was charged again a month later. I was unable to go back into the account to dispute the charges. I then tried to dispute charges through my credit card company. I was told I needed proof that I canceled the account. I had to cancel my credit card to stop the charges. Public Mobile is a scam company making money off anyone that is stupid enough to use them.

Some people won't like that they don't have proper customer service, so if you don't like that then this carrier may not be for you. I love it though because everything is done online, so that means no social anxiety associated with phone calls and no being left on hold for hours on end. Definitely a plus in my book. The set up process was insanely easy. Just had to get a sim card and follow the instructions. Also, you can't beat the prices. They use the same network as Telus, so you don't have to worry about having proper coverage. The point system is great. You gradually acquire points which can be redeemed for money off your bill. Also you can get a $10 credit if you sign up with the code 5VOOP8

Just signed up with Public Mobile. Transition was very smooth. When signing up you either need to give your account # or your IMEI number if you are porting your number from another service provider. To find your IMEI number on your phone dial *#06#. This will give you a display of your IMEI. Also you don't need a physical Sim card on newer phones but can get an Esim which is cheaper and is installed when signing up.

Note: If you use Z3ZP59 you will receive a $10 credit on your next month's bill.

Impossible to log into one's account on their website. Many, including myself, complain about being taken through a loop during login where they keep asking for a username and password. Impossible to get support through their "community" because cannot log into account. Chatbot is an AI that does not understand issues posed to it. Awful!

Setup was smooth and easy.
Porting an existing number is fast, or you can customize a new number.
SIM cards can be purchased for just $2.99 at Canadian Cell Supplies with free shipping.
Good national coverage on Telus network.
The basic plans with add-ons that don't time expire fit my needs well.
There are several reward options to lower your monthly bill, discounts that add up over time, and are welcome for those of us on a retired fixed income.

This provider is a joke. It is impossibke to get any help. Everything is online so there is no live chat or phone calls. And when you open a ticket for support you get a reply 3 hours later, sometimes longer. Over 4 days you'll go back and fourth every few hours with various agents. All who will just agree with their colleague before them and say what they said, and actually none of them know the issue at hand. You get attitude when trying to explain the situation and treated like your stupid. In the end the problem has no remedy. They try payment without notifying you or having your consenr, so you pay $50+ for a plan on an eSIM, and it does not activate the account you want, They expect you to pay another $50+ for a plan on your original account you can not sign in to. And they can not refund the payment from the second account with eSIM, transfer plan, nothing at all to accomodate. So you're expected to keep taking money out of your pocket and put it into their scam company. Eventually after no real solutions or remedies to fix the issue, with all the added stress, frustration and extra payments they stop replying all together. Oh and let's not forget, to keep your plan active you must add funds before the due date or pay on due date, which is impossible when you can not sign in to your account no matter what and do not have a 4 digit pin to call *611 and complete it that way. Absolutely hate this company. I regret ever signing up. Years ago there was normal customer service call-in features. But now, it's just ridiculous.

I was initially impressed, especially with the value and had some good online customer service, but now I have a problem and its been 24 hours and a bunch of ignorant CSR's are telling me to login on a locked account. 24 hours later and many steps tried and it is still locked and I cannot move the account from an Iphone esim to an Android esim phone.

Since being with Public Mobile I have experienced no problems with the service. Further the service plan I signed up for is one of the most economical amongst service providers. Also Public provides incentives for remaining with their network.

I had to update my credit card info as it was compromised, however i was in terrible situation, self surve tools soes not work,everytime it says " opps! Try later. I had to spent 5 days without smartphoe, no call centre. No website, bed self surf tools,ticket dosent work as your phone is off,i never faced such a terrible situation in my life. I moved to othe career, including my son. Good buy! Sorry, Bad buy public nobile.

This is a scam! Nothing works and there is no customer services, only one agent that will change every couple of hours and takes forever to reply. I paid my 3 months plan and I chose a number that was apparently already assigned to another person with another carrier. Now, when I ask for a refund, they always tell me I have to try other things that are not working. And also they tell me that refunding will take 15-30 buisness days! What kind of $#*!ty company is that. I'm pissed!
