“Pretty happy with it.”

Wappy T.
11/24/21

I bought a publishdrive lifetime membership from appsumo mainly to reach the Chinese and European markets not already offered in Smashwords, Draft2Digital, and StreetLib. The platform took a little bit of getting used to at first as it is not as easy to use as Draft2Digital. I used Calibre to edit my epubs and uploaded them to publishdrive. Publishdrive would error check, send a notification email, and I'd go back and fix the errors in Calibre. Ultimately, I've used them to distribute over a dozen books. The only glitch that keeps happening is that sometimes the dropdown menu for choosing BISAC codes stops working, and I have to save a book as a draft and come back in a different browser.

“Good idea, very bad customer service”

Jürgen S.
4/28/23

I was a Publish Drive member for more than 3 month and payed $25 per month. My book had formating errors, but I didn´t understand their message what to change. 5 emails to the customer service, but no response. Then I wrote to the CEO, she forwarded my mail to the customer service. They checked my book again and guess what, they gave me the exact same message (which I didn´t understand before) and never responded to any mail from me. The concept about paying per month and getting higher royalties is a nice idea, but their customer service is so extremely bad, that I cancelled my membership.

My experience with PublishDrive can only be described as a catastrophic disappointment. From start to finish, it was a relentless saga of incompetence and frustration.
The software provided by PublishDrive is a hotbed of issues. It's clunky, unreliable, and feels like it hasn't seen an update since the dark ages. Trying to use it for anything productive is an exercise in futility.
As for their customer support, it's a horror show. The staff appear to have undergone training in the art of arrogance and condescension. Any attempt to seek help or clarification is met with disdain, leaving you feeling like an inconvenience.
PublishDrive's refund policy, or should I say "no refund" policy, is buried in microscopic print and is likely in violation of consumer protection laws. They not only ignore your refund requests but also proceed to empty your wallet without remorse.
Doubts also linger about their claimed location. Their address doesn't even belong to them but to another company called HiDeez Group, and payments are processed through Budapest.
Beware and consider better alternatives. There are many!

Tip for consumers:
This company is a scam
They are not where they say they are.
They process payments out of Budapest and their address is not their own.
They are a diabolical disgrace to the publishing software industry and should be shut down.

These guys can not be trusted. They would rather steal your money than provide a service. My wife tried to get signed up but she never was able to and yet they took her money anyway. This company has no idea about protecting the customer. Don't ever use them. They are the worst.

Tip for consumers:
NO ONE SHOULD USE THIS COMPANY. THEY MANIPULATE THE INFORMATION SO YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM.

Products used:
None of their services were very klunky and if I was an author I would never consider them. They are liars! and instead of focusing on making sure that the customer is satisfied, they would rather steal my money. They are typical of a poorly run company, poorly financed who is stealing the customer's money to stay in business.

Two days before the trial was up, I contacted them to let them know I would not be continuing. The message I received was that it was taking longer than normal to answer. Thankfully, I used PayPal so they are helping me get my money back since these guys just was to hold onto it and do nothing for me.

Tip for consumers:
Do not use this company.

Stole my money, never published my books, and put me on a different plan and charged me higher even though i signed up for lower plan and refused to refund when i canceled the subscription and no books were published and put under review for one and half month. Total sham and scam. Avoid them like the bubonic plague. Thieves

*Zero stars*

Awful company and dishonest people. My sales were always lowered then what I calculated (I suspect they kept some of my book earnings for themselves) I emailed them about the inconsistency about my payments and I was ignored. I sent a request to end my contract and demanded that they remove my book from their catalog. After 3-4 weeks, my books were still on sale and I had to contact the bookstores directly and explained to them that Publishdrive was no longer authorized to sell my ebooks on my behalf because I ended my contract with them. Needless to say avoid them that all costs. Just go to the stores directly but if you have to use an aggregator then use Draft2Digital (or smashwords)

Publish drive and Smashwords are no match for customer service compared to Draft2digatal. Draft2digatal uploaded my word doc without problems or dramas. Smashwords mashed the word doc words together on their software and tried to get me to fix in microsoft word. Publishdrive could put a titles page on my word doc and tried to get me to header the tiles of the chapters but after i still couldnt publish the book. Draft2digatal wins hands down on that front. One stop stop. No mucking around. Their software is state of the art and quickly publishes your book and tells you what you need to do in word without having to do anything fancy to have it published.

With some minor improvements, it would be perfect.
But it works as it is supposed to work.
Excellent service.
