Bought the personalized cutting board as a gift for my husband in September. It has mainly been sitting on the counter waiting for warmer weather and bbqs. Used it for the second time last weekend and it snapped completely in half as the weight of an empty sauce pan sitting in the sink was enough to completely break the solid wood. Cheap product. Would not use them again. When I called customer service yesterday they said they would send me a refund no problem, then today I wake up to an email stating they would not be to refund me. Poor customer service as well.

They send an email the day before Christmas eve to tell that my order has been cancelled on an order that was made December 4th, their customer services only answer, sorry we can have it to you mid January if you'd like. Done with this company.

This website is absolutely wonderful it has the best customer service that i have ever dealt with! First they didnt take my free shipping off of my order so i emailed and it was corrected over night and they were extremely polite about it secondly the order i placed was for flowers for my mother for valentines day and when fed ex delivered them they were stolen from her front porch so i called to tell them and they sent out an entire new bouquet of flowers to my moms work so she would get them they even personally called her to apologize to her for her not getting her flowers on valentines day! Can you say wow! I was amazed at the lengths they go to for their customers it is amazing if only more businesses were like this! I am so pleased and i will continue to order from this site! I recommend it to everyone they are great!

I ordered an item and and then emailed immediately afterwards to have them apply my discount. Which they said no to. I then told them that I would reorder the item and apply my discount and return the first item. They said that I would have to pay return shipping. I then replied that I would refuse shipment of the item and to remove me from their mailing list. All over $10.00. Terrible Customer Service.

As Valentines Day approached, my girlfriend advised she'd never received a delivery at her workplace on a Valentines Day. Not missing the obvious hint, I ended up ordering 4 items for delivery to her work; all scheduled for Valentines Day and each with a separate message as part of a whole.

I placed the order for my redEnvelope item on 2/6/14, a week and a day before the 2/14/14 Valentines Day. After selecting the ship to location, my girlfriends work, the order form took me to a screen that said "Delivery date" and asked me to select a delivery date. The site even reminded me that 2/14 was Valentines. I selected 2/14 and paid the $4.99 extra shipping fee for that day.

The next day I received FedEx tracking information for the item, which had an estimated ship date of 2/11/14, noticeably not 2/14/14. Customer service said they could not alter the ship date and could not cancel the order now that it was already with FedEx. I double-checked the site and confirmed that yes, the order form does say "Delivery date" and never suggests the date selected is not actually "on or by" before submitting your order.

I have now asked FedEx to hold my item at one of their locations so I can pick it up and arrange for another way for it to arrive at her office. Good thing I selected that $4.99 Valentines Day/Rush shipping.

Oddly, on 2/7/14, a day after I'd placed the order, when I was double-checking to ensure the order form did lie to me about the delivery date, I found the Valentines Day shipping was still an option, but no longer cost $4.99 extra. I have no idea why the rush/holiday fee would be removed a day closer to the delivery date.

This site is awful. I'll never use it again and I haven't even seen the product I ordered. I was willing to put up with a cheap piece of crap (as others have advised this site sells) as long as the message as a whole reached my girlfriend. Quality and the product aside, they couldn't get right the one thing I wanted them to do: delivery on 2/14, which, thanks to the customized delivery date option in their order form, was the entire reason I picked them in the first place.

Avoid these frauds.

Do not order gifts from here! I ordered a gift for my aunt and uncle -- it was delivered just fine. However, what is not fine is that Red Envelope included some ridiculous 'promo' along with it -- somehting like buy $160 of wine and get another $100 worth of wine.' Well, my aunt and uncle who are older, were confused. They thought I sent a wine gift card to them as well! This deceiving promotion cheapened the gift I did purchase. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR THE GIFT RECIPIENT!

I bought a very expensive watch for my husband for Christmas. The photo in no way matched the product it was very outsized -- maybe an NFL player might have enjoyed it. I called them the day after Christmas to return it and it has been a nightmare ever since. Their staff do not know what they are doing. One of them said they would send a UPS picket up ticket to me. Nothing came. I emailed them on 12/27 another rep sent me a Postal Service label. I wrapped the package put on the label and mailed it from the Post office with a return receipt requested card and insurance. On 1/9 I got a UPS ticket request, I emailed them and they said they would "correct" it -- I had to ask did that mean they cancelled it? Next the return receipt came in the mail but no one had signed it! TODA, my daughter in San Francisco (where the watch was initially shipped as we were there for Christmas) informed me that she had received a UPS pickup notice for ME. Oh yeah, on January 11 they sent an email saying that someone would call me in one or two business days. Never heard from them. I will never purchase anything from Red Envelope again.

A site that offers various gifts for loved ones. Most of the items sold look very cute and possibly useful... but nothing I would actually want/need if I were buying something for myself. I ended up buying a fruit and nut basket for my father for Father's Day. The box came completely smashed and dented. When I wrote to customer service they prompted gave me a refund. Excellent customer service. Just not selling anything I would actually want...

I approached this service for a birthday gift for my friend, but their customer service is very poor and when I got them in contact the response of the service agent was really hurt me; if I purchase item online I should expect some kind of problem arise.

I haven't gotten my order yet but I placed it two weeks ago. When I called customer service they were very apologetic and refunded my shipping charges. Then they told me a manager would contact me via email in ONE or TWO BUSINESS days and tell me what happened to my order. Your customer service line is 24/7 but it takes a manager two days to figure out where my package is? These products better look darn good when they arrive!

I recommend noone orders from this website.
I ordered and paid for Christmas gifts for my family back in late OCT/early Nov, and its now February, they sent my family nothing!
Horrible!

I ordered a valet for my husband as an anniversary gift. I payed an extra fee to have the item delivered to me on a Saturday. The item did not arrive on Saturday and when I checked the red envelope website on Monday, the tracking status confirmed that the gift had never been shipped! So here I am, 5 hours before I am meeting my husband for our anniversary dinner and I have no gift to give him! Needless to say, I cancelled the order and will never rely on Red Envelope for any gifts again.

Placed an order for teh 12 gourment cupcakes to be delivered for my (out of state) Sisters Birthday. Since they could not deliver on a Sunday, I opted to pay $9.99 EXTRA shipping to have it delivered on a Saturday. After making my SIster stay home all morning to await her delicious suprise, I get an email at 2:10 PM telling me the delivery will be postponed until Wednesday! They offerred me free shipping, and a $10 coupon for a future order! Really!? I am now stuck with nothing THE DAY BEOFRE my Sisters Birthday! VERY upset! Cancelled order!

This what I was told in email from customer service below... the same day I get notice of cancellation from UPS. Here is what UPS sent me this am after I received email saying it was ready to go and they were sorry DO NOT TRUST THEM!... The sender requested a delivery change for this package. / The package will be returned to the sender.

Shipping prices crazy high, their prices for the product themselves seem inflated. I ordered something, hit order for one price after reviewing all info, and then when I saw the confirmation it was an additional 10$. I called CS immediately and they told me it was because i chose rush order, I told them i did not. I had definitely chosen their standard shipping 'green' day option, went back and had to change the days. What i suspect happened is that during the time i was ordering, they changed their 'standard' shipping day to now being considered a 'rush' day. Still very misleading and sneaky of them to not take an ongoing order into consideration when I picked a 'standard' day for sure during my transactions. Their CS person didn't sound too impressive either... not sure i will be shopping there again

This company can't deliver what it states on its webpage. Do not order anything that you are planning to give as a gift. I ordered an item which was to be an anniversary gift. I also selected and paid for Saturday delivery. On the Saturday in question, I contacted Customer Service and was told my order would indeed be delivered that day. I contacted Customer Service again later that night only to be told by another customer sales representative that the order was pending with the shipper. I received a phone call on Sunday afternoon stating the order hadn't even shipped yet. Stay away from this organization and save yourself from the aggravation.

Awful. Ordered a bunch of items that were to be delivered over a week ago its now taken them 2 days to tell me they are still tracking them and here come the holidays. I have no gifts. Im flabbergasted that a business is run like this

I ordered the deluxe baby keepsake kit specialized with a plaque. The kit arrived without the plaque. When I called them they say it is not uncommon for that to happen. That is unacceptable in my opinion and it tells me a lot about this company. Enough said.

I had a good experience with this site but not great. I ordered a cashmere bathrobe and paid for overnight shipping as it was approaching the holidays. Unfortunately it didn't ship until a few days later. I do believe the delay was related to my billing and shipping address being totally different (2 different countries) and that could have effected the release of the shipment. This was one of my first online purchases and I learned that shipping times are in addition to and after the time to process the order for fraud and picking packing. I wish they got it out sooner though. The robe was nice but a bit overpriced and nothing I couldn't have gotten at the local mall for less. Packaging was top rate.

I ordered an item for this Christmas in early October, which was supposed to be delivered today (11/16). The whole day goes by, and I haven't received it.

I e-mail customer support asking them to investigate it, and they say that the order has been deleted and will not be delivered, and that they cannot give any more information about it. Thinking that it may have had to do with the fact that I used a Visa gift card, I asked them if my card would be charged. They literally copy and pasted the exact same form message and sent it to me again.

Not satisfied with this, I called customer support. The woman who answered seemed confused about it, too, and so she put me on hold while she looked into it. She gets back on the phone... and tells me almost verbatim what the form e-mail says. When I asked her any further questions, she just kept repeating that she couldn't give out any other information about it.

This seemed really shady to me, especially since they had over a month to let me know that there was an issue with the order. There were no offers to make up for it or reship -- just stonewalling with unhelpful information. Due to the experience trying to buy this item, I am definitely taking my business elsewhere, and I warn other online shoppers to think carefully before shopping here, too.

Ordered from this with success for over 10 years. As usual, this year I went to order my MIL's gift and after three weeks she still had not received it. I called the company to find out what the issue and it turns out the item was out of stock. I never received notification or an email. I had to call them and when I did I was treated extremely rudely on top of being put on hold for almost 30 minutes. I will never order from this site again and the my colleagues who had to listen to the call have vowed to boycott them as well. Ridiculously bad experience.

Red Envelope is a great site for gifts, especially for nicer, higher-end items. However, they have wonderful options for all price ranges. Everything I have ever received or given as a gift from Red Evenlope has been a big hit. Recommend highly!
