“Great Service, extended life on dishwasher”

Our dishwasher suddenly stopped working and they were able to come out quickly and repair within the same week. Pricing was reasonable and the technician was very personable while in our home.

“Do. Not. Use.”

I waited all day yesterday for a scheduled refrigerator repair. The "window" was 8-5 so I waited the entire day. I continued to receive updates and time changes. Then at the end of the window, the appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. It took 30 min of calling to get to a person there. The conversation was weird and unacceptable and the woman tried to tell me that I had cancelled the appointment. Every single item in my refrig has now been thrown out. I will NEVER use Sears Home Un-services or buy one of their appliances.

Absolutely not responsible! They are a waste of time. They scheduled an appointment with us to repair a washer and dryer and missed the appointment twice. We were originally scheduled for repair between 1:00 and 5:00. The Technician, *******822, called at 7:30 am to ask if he could come earlier, we agreed. He said he would arrive shortly but never showed. He lied and said he had come and we knew better because there is a camera which showed him parked across the street and never coming to the door. When we called to explain that he had not come, he got angry and said, "maybe I won't come today". We called Sears and spoke to Ernest who supposedly escalated the issue and assured us that someone would be out between 1:00 and 5:00. No one came or called! Don't waste your time with Sears Home Services, they are a mess.

Called and talked to a Sears tech. Told him my machine stopped working. Told him all the things it was doing and he tells me to put vinegar and baking soda in my washer. I told him there's no water draining or coming in. He says just do it. It will 100% work. It didn't. They gave me an appt for service. The company calls and says we can't come on the day they gave you, it will be 2 weeks longer. I have that vinegar and baking soda sitting in my machine for 2 weeks doing damage. If there is damage I'm going to sue them. I can't stand Sears. I can see why they went under. They are idiots!

My home warranty is through Cinch who contracts out Sears to fix appliances. My 1st appt was 11/14 they text will be there between 8-5 at 6:23pm sent text rescheduling your appt 11/29 after I waited all day. Furnace been out then 2 weeks. Yesterday 11/29 text sent same thing. Home all day 8-5 no call no show. Furnace been out 4 weeks in 20 degree weather and newly diagnosed cancer patient. Tried to call Sears only automated system. Called Cinch back 3 times before they decided to switch to another carrier. I am reporting Sears to BBB as we speak. Thank goodness Advance heating Systems from Winston Salem is in my driveway now. I have heard a lot of terrible things about Sears. There are over 500 bad reviews on Sears. I will advise anyone stay away from this company!

I found it nearly impossible to secure the COI required to enter the property. Many chats, almost missed the appointment due to lack of knowledge on behalf of customer service on how to get this done. Customer service told me the tech will have it in hand, another told me it will be e-mail in 30 min. Another emailed me a copy of my own service contract. Each customer service rep had a different scenario. Finally the tech in route gave me an e-mail address to contact. That info should have been provided on the first chat contact. I'm not even rating the tech service that has not happened yet. The amount of work involved to secure a COI should not require multiple contacts over 4 days. I will not renew my warranty with Sears for sure.

Tip for consumers:
It would have been helpful to know the tech contact prior to the date of service so I could have got the correct info I needed to secure the COI and not wasted so much time getting a run around.

We have had a SEARS - CINCH Home Appliance Warranty for several years now that was issued after they surveyed and inspected our high-end kitchen and laundry equipment. On January 13,2024 we noticed the refrigerator not cooling or freezing properly, so for our very first claim on this appliance, we followed the online warranty repair request instructions, paid the deductible, and then found out their contracted service provider couldn't even be there until January 16th, and then only to diagnose the issue and order any necessary parts, as apparently gone are the days when they dispatched a fully stocked repair vehicle and technician! By the time somebody showed and assessed what was needed, all the hundreds of dollars worth of our fresh and frozen food had spoiled and needed to be thrown-out! We waited and waited for the parts to arrive and then found out they weren't even ordered until January 25th - 9 full days after their technician was here! We continued to wait and wait and made several un-answered and un-returned calls then finally - we heard from customer service on February 2nd that some of the repair parts were not available from their preferred supplier and they decided to replace the unit instead of repairing it (even though the parts - all in-stock - could have been ordered from a different supplier). THIS IS NOW A FULL 3 WEEKS WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR! So we look at the email with the replacement refrigerator they are allowing us to select from at HOME DEPOT - which still would need to be ordered and then a delivery date set up - and find it is just your garden-variety, under-a thousand-dollar, side-by-side refrigerator with a stainless steel front door - but NOT the fully-wrapped, stainless steel on all sides, GE PROFILE unit we have - which is the center-piece of our open style kitchen. Totally unacceptable! So their final offer to us was a $1425.00 cash settlement on a $5000.00 replacement equivalent refrigerator - and then no future refrigerator claims could ever be made under our warranty, inspite of our plan's $3000.00 refrigerator coverage maximum! We reasonably requested a larger settlement amount for our higher-end unit given our plan's coverage amount and current replacement cost, but were told that their cash or Home Depot replacement offer was our only option. Considering the money we have paid over the years for coverage, if you need to make a claim, be forewarned that we found through our unpleasant experience that the SEARS-CINCH WARRANTY as well as their contracted service provider to be UNACCEPTABLE AND BASICALLY WORTHLESS for us!

I doubt this post will be up long because a dishonest organization isn't willing to let their practices be known. My husband and I purchased an appliance home warranty protection plan from Sears Home Services. We paid our fees monthly, per the agreement.

Towards the end of the agreement (it was up next month) we called because our above range microwave stopped working. It stopped working because it was old and the framing part around the door cracked, which put the door out of alignment, which caused the unit to short out. The house was built in 1996, and this is original.

First we were told that it wasn't going to be covered because. The door is not covered. As if the door isn't an integral part of a microwave! Then when I objected, I was told that the unit wasn't "maintained" and THAT'S why it wasn't covered. Again. The unit is TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD. In a fit of disgust, I cancelled the service and after getting the runaround for literally weeks on end, I was told that because it was cancelled, they weren't going to bother reaching out again.

Buyer beware. Just self insure, and keep in mind there is likely a good reason that Sears is going out of business. Evidently the same clowns that run that business are running this one.

So keep in mind, they are happy to throw away YEARS of my business over a $300 replacement microwave. IMAGINE what they will do if you have a pricey replacement needed.

I HAD SEARS HOME SERVICES COME TO MY HOME TO REPAIR A 15 YEAR OLD CRAFTSMAN LAWN TRACTOR. REPAIRMAN WAS OK. HE SPENT AS MUCH TIME TRYING TO PROCESS PAYMENT IN FULL, AS HE SPENT DOING REPAIRS. HE TRIED TO PROCESS 3 DIFFERENT CHECKS AND ONE CREDIT CARD, ALL UNSUCCESSFUL. HE WOULD NOT LEAVE UNTIL THE PAYMENT IN-FULL WAS PROCESSED. 3 WEEKS LATER SEARS DECIDED I STILL OWED AN AMOUNT ON A CHECK THAT WAS UNSUCCESSFULLY PROCESSED. NOW THEY ARE THREATENING "COLLECTIONS AND ADDED INTEREST"! REPEATEDLY I'VE SPENT HOURS ON TELEPHONE AND COMPUTER TRYING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. TODAY, OVER 2 HOURS ON HOLD WAITING FOR A CUST REP TO ANSWER..

My washer went out. Called Sears for an appointment had to wait a week, Aug 18,2017. I was scheduled between 8am-12pm. Around 11:45am I got nervous, as no call to say we're running behind schedule. I called the first time and spoke to someone in Mexico, who did not get it at all. They said the technician was running behind. I called back an hour later this time the person was in the Philippines. He said I was next in line. Called back an hour later I believe it was India this time, who told me the technician did not service anyone that day and that he would give me the next available appointment which will be August 28th between 1pm-5pm. They did not offer to come the next business day and move the other customers back. They simply said in essence, "we are not coming, we will get there 10 day from now or you could not have an appointment.
People reviews like this are not from fickle customers, but real people who have been treated poorly by a business, and have take the time to warn others to prevent them from having the same experience. Read sites like this and Yelp and get the overall tone of the reputation of a business before you make purchase. Even if you go ahead and buy an appliance from Sears, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT PURCHASE THE WARRANTY THAT THEY TRY TO SELL YOU!
