It's a scam! I'm sure those 5 star reviews are from the scammers. They will ask you for money. Do not fall for it!

Verified purchase

Nearly impossible to reach the office. Certain personnel get information wrong which causes additional problems. I lost money when they deducted in error and did not return the full amount. Some staff need a dunce cap!

I recently found out that this company has been auto renewing and charging me for a policy at a residence I havent lived at in FOUR years!

I've had many renters insurance policies in my life and they always require me to renew, or they will cancel.

These scumbags have some BS loophole in their contract that allows them to automatically refill without authorization. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! CROOKS!

If I could put 0 stars, I would. I'm not sure how this is even a real company that exists. I've never had a worse experience trying to get a hold of anyone on the phone. Do yourself a favor and get insured with anyone other than this waste of a company.

Confirmed Scam!
They will ask for you to send money ("trust-us it is secure").
They can't show you the apartment ("we're overseas")

If they can't/won't actually show you the apartment - chances are they never will (even after you send money!)

Do not insure anything you care about with this company. This includes Resident Insure, Markel, or Entrata. They will gauge you on price and even after being a loyal customer for over a year, deny your claim on no grounds. I recently had my personal property stolen. In an effort to submit a claim, I was put on hold and eventually connected with the most unhelpful and verbally abusive customer service represenative I have ever spoken to. The process only got worse after that. The claims adjusters will throw out any excuse in the book for why the theft of your property isn't covered, completely change positions on their premises, interrupt you constantly, and make it utterly impossible to communicate in an effective way. Worst experience I have ever had with any company. Don't waste your money on this scam of an insurance company. State Farm is half the price, anyway. Please learn from my mistake!

Best company if you want to rent an apartment or a house but you don't see before to rent. All steps are very easy and safe. Thanks!

Don't send money, you'll never see it again. This fraud is tied to multiple real estate "rentals" all over the world, none legitimate.

Do NOT fall for scams when people who own the house are asking you for money before you even get the keys to the place.

Every time you have to pay before you can even ensure that whatever you are paying for is real, it is 100% chance a scam.

Also please research on who posted the house listing. Most of the five star reviewers here are fakes as well.

Good company if you are a student like me and you have to move in other country, need to rent an apartment before to see it. With this company you can make the transaction safe and rent a good apartment. I strongly recommend this company!

The reviews posted here are by fake people, dont fall for such scams. Never pay money without viewing the appartment. If someone is renting their place they also obviously want to see the person first. If they ask money first then definetly its a scam.
The reviews posted on the site are on a pattern and every review state common keywords like safe, refund where it is not reviewing the site instead its advertiising more. If you are watching this review then NEVER PAY MONEY FIRST.

The ad says great apartment great price and the you get this email which if you scroll you'll see a few different versions here is mine. I'm glad I googled and found this out. This was in San Juan Puerto Rico.

Hi,

OK, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Dr. Jan Helleday and I`m 56 years old living in Stockholm, Sweden.
I`m Certified physician, specialist in psychiatry. I have a Specialist clinic for the treatment of mainly depression, anxiety / anxiety syndrome, phobias and stress and fatigue-related problems.

About the apartment, I`m the owner. My daughter Alicia lived in the city for 5 years and I bought it for her to rent it as a rental business for her. Last time was 1 year ago we rented it, since then we renovated it and Alicia returned to Sweden, she is here now. So, we decided to rent it again for the long term. You can register with the apartment address.

Last time when I wanted to rent it no one showed up, so I lost time and money. So, I decided to make the transaction through Renthome Insurance. We will use their system so you can inspect the apartment. You can rent the apartment as long as you need, even for 4-5 years. You will rent the ENTIRE apartment.

Here you can read reviews about the company: https://rentsafely.blogspot.com/2020/05/rent-safely-with-renthome-insurance.html

The deposit I require is for the first month rent + 2 months security deposit = $2310 (the 2 months security deposit is refundable when you check out).

I have a lot of people interested, so please let me know your answer and I will explain to you the rental process more detailed.

Regards,
Dr. Jan Helleday

I don't know if everything through this site is a scam - but I got the same letter below as one of the other raters from a woman claiming to be from Sweden and renting an apartment at half the value it would go for in Toronto:

Hi,

OK, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Anja Smits and I`m 64 years old living in Göteborg, Sweden.
I`m a professor / chief physician at Department of Clinical Neuroscience at Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology in Sweden.

Dr. Anja Smits
