A very poor experience overall. There were grammatical errors and much of my work summary had been rewritten into nonsense. The individual who reviewed my resume clearly has no working knowledge of my industry. Their money back guarantee is a joke. In addition, I paid more to have all of my work history reflected but the resume I received only covered the last two years despite them still charging me the full price.

I selected the Resume Writing Group because of the positive reviews and professional samples on their website. I did not know what to expect, but I was reassured when I received a welcome email from my writer (Lori) the same day. I have 25 years of management experience with no resume, so I sent a 9-page list of skills. The next day, I received a very professional resume. However, I wanted additional skills listed, and for some reason, I expected Lori to read my mind. To my surprise, I received an email from the owner explaining the process Lori took to write my resume and asking for specifics to resolve my issue. I was shocked that this company cared enough to do whatever it took to make me happy. The revision was sent the next day, and it MUCH MORE than I expected. Very horrible service, the site is not user friendly. The supposed writers just copy and paste from what ever you upload and just change the formatting.

Once I seen this immediately requested a refund and GM Heather Todd and Ryan in customer service just refuse. The website says 100% customer satisfaction which is wrong. BEWARE THIS SITE IF FULL OF THIEVES.

I will continue to write negative reviews on all platforms as a way to warn all future or potential customers to STAY AWAY!

This customer only received their 1st draft and refused to communicate on the revision process. Writing resumes is a fluid process and requires a 1st draft and then a revision. We asked customer continuously for additional information as he only provided a very small amount when he placed his order. We called several times and emailed several time but customer would not respond. I personally called and spoke with this extremely rude customer and he said f**k o** and hung up. As we have all seen there is a small group of people in the world who just want to yell and scream and are totally unreasonable.

I was terribly disappointed with this service and the response I received from the group. The resume was mediocre, and I let the group know about what I expected their service to be. It was then I received a note from the resume writer who said that she was paid for writing, not talking with me. A resume service not interested in getting to know their clients to produce the best possible product? I recommend your users find a service which actually cares about their customer's success.

Ironically, a negative review here is part of what inspired me to buy a resume from resume writing group and I'm glad I did!
Someone was whining that they submitted "200 resumes" online electronically and only got 4 job interviews. I found that ironic because knowing that thousands of people submit to most online job posts, I believe 4/200 is a pretty good callback/interview rate especially when considering 1) this person is probably exaggerating their claim of 200 submissions anyway and 2) it doesn't sound like they let that much time pass between ordering a new resume and deciding it's not working out.
Having sent my own resume out to 80-100 online posts last year and getting only 1 questionable interview, I was intrigued to have the resume writing group help me.
I sent the resume they wrote for me to precisely 125 places online and I now have 5 interviews lined up! I'm happy with that result. Whether I get hired now is up to me, not them... but clearly, I'm doing better with their help than I did without it.

I updated my resume but was not getting any traction from my future employers, so I hired resume writing group to revamp my work history and give me feedback. Based on their initial review, I agreed with their assessment (which is free) and hired them to revamp my resume. I distributed my resume (and even resent it to one company I wanted to work) and I was called in for an interview. They actually made some positive changes and were able to lend a professional eye that I was missing. I recommend Marilyn.

Just putting your resume on Indeed and hoping you are found out of the millions of resumes is not going to cut it in today's competitive job market. A year ago, I sought to update my resume and came across Resume Writing Group. I decided to give it a try, specifying the job title I was targeting. However, the resulting resume did not align with my request. I chose to overlook it and didn't contest the charges.

Then, a year later, I noticed an unexpected charge on my card, prompting me to contact them. It was explained to me that I had unwittingly signed up for a yearly subscription. I requested an immediate cancellation and a refund of my money. They complied with the cancellation but refused to refund my payment, arguing it was in exchange for services rendered over the past year.

This struck me as unjust since my association with this group spans only a year, during which I paid a substantial amount for my resume. To assert that this additional charge was retroactively for prior services feels deceptive. If you decide to use their services, be sure to make it explicit that you do not wish to opt for any supplementary services, which I personally never utilized.

This has been a mind numbing process. First off, note that communication for the most part is done through non-reply tickets and they steer you to their site with passwords and "form" communication. In roughly 36 hours after paying (still can't find the itemized receipt) I received 7-8 emails about their up selling services and marketing referrals. Go to their page to communicate with your resume writer and it is the same thing. Up selling and icons for referrals and gratuities.

When you select your initial service(s) and proceed to checkout you have a surprise: additional costs for how many years you have worked. I had to pay $34.00 extra for my extended work history. Okay, I get that requires more time but be up front about it. Instead you spend 10 minutes on answering questions and then they add this. And again they constantly try to up sell. I hate the junk mail and also wading through the junk to get what I paid for on their site.
So I ordered a cover letter ($69.00) and resume ($153.00) and for some reason they added the $89.00 for linkedin (it took a phone call, chat session and email to get this removed.)
When I received my resume the cover letter was page 3 of the resume. Most job applications require these to be submitted separately. No, problem I have MS Word and can separate them but when I did it screwed up the formatting and color scheme. I requested two separate docs. From my writer and then all heck broke lose. I spent half a day and several emails/agruments trying to get two separate docs. I was first told how to copy/paste (I had already did the exact same thing). Then I was referred to the help archives. Then I informed them that I paid for two docs and just to send them separately. I received one doc. (the cover letter). What a nightmare of customer service with this company. Yes, I made my own revisions and chalked this up as another internet company that's just trying to make as much money as possible and customer service is an after thought. Save yourself a headache and look elsewhere for resume services.

He contacted us via our live chat service – which requires no password or login and can be accessed by any device – to ask for his LinkedIn profile to be refunded because he mistakenly selected it while placing his order. We responded to his request within five minutes and informed him that the profile writing service would be refunded.

After receiving the resume, the client stated “Thanks for your efforts. The resume looks and reads great.” The client then asked the writer how he could separate the resume document from the cover letter document himself. To ensure the client received a prompt answer, the writer went above and beyond, responding promptly during a Sunday with instructions for separating the documents.

The client was unable to separate the documents himself and immediately demanded that we separate the documents for him or refund his entire purchase. We are of course happy to assist clients with downloading, separating, and opening their resumes, which are provided in simple MS Word format. Our writer immediately separated the two documents for the client.

Upon learning the client was upset, I personally reached out to him to see what we could do to make this a satisfactory service. Regardless of our repeated attempts to help him, the client refused to acknowledge our efforts to improve the service.

As I was searching for a new job, I considered the need to update my resume to highlight my skills and make it more of something that would get the attention of potential employers. I signed up with ResumeWritingGroup.com for $120 and sent in what I had. I was clear that I wanted to streamline my work history and highlight the key pieces.

What I received back was none of the things I asked for. They reformatted it... and they had all kinds of typos and grammatical errors. Granted, it was a draft, but it was SO packed with spacing all the way to the edges of the page and a tiny font as the "professional writer" used as he/she didn't streamline anything. They simply tried to rearrange what I already had and add a few words without doing what I had asked.

I wrote back saying that it was too packed and suggested we might need to remove some of the irrelevant items. I got the resume back and the writer had simply removed the oldest pieces of my work history with a note saying that those were irrelevant. Of course, those pieces were key pieces of my management experience, so why would you just delete theme because they were the oldest?

No one would even talk to me for 5 minutes, no one even considered what I requested. All they did was reformat it... which you can do yourself with an online template... and cut key pieces out to make it fit, but the formatting was still awful. I expected more for what I paid and what I asked for. I didn't need a full-blown consultation.

The owner went back and forth with me in a few e-mails, but his best offer was to give me another resume update. By this point, I'd already landed another job... and I did it without using the worthless resume they sent me. They had no clue about proper formatting and what a professional resume should look like. If I already secured a new position without their help, why would I want another resume? And I why would I want a resume from them if they couldn't even come close to producing a usable resume in the first 3 drafts?

You'd be better off saving yourself a couple hundred dollars and downloading a template from the internet than use this company.

Because of our track record, we reached out to this customer immediately upon learning he was dissatisfied with his new resume. We called him numerous times and never received a response. We also emailed him and explained clearly why we wrote the resume the way we did, and we also offered to revise the resume according to his concerns.
Based on our 98.4% success rate, we wrote this customer’s resume with size 10 font and 0.5 margins – both of which are industry standards. However, we were more than willing to make adjustments to the resume to suit this customer’s opinion about what type of resume he wanted.
Additionally, we don’t understand this customer’s comments about not enough being changed on his resume, because the senior writer who wrote the document created a completely new format, an entirely new “professional profile” section and new job descriptions for the customer. Even after our team’s already extensive efforts to help this client, I personally reached out directly as the owner of the company to see what we could do to satisfy him and he refused our offers to provide further assistance. His comment to me was "I no longer need a resume" so give me my money back!

I was very disappointed with the service offered by Resume Writing Group.
The resume Ryan provided was poorly designed, with cramped text and excessive blocks of capital letters that gave the impression of shouting at the reader. Furthermore, their e-resume service merely provides a link to the document and does not retain updated versions of the file. Not only did they fail to deliver a quality resume, but their cover and thank you letters were almost a replica of each other riddled with incomplete sentences and just lacked overall professionalism. They simply copy huge sections of the cover letter and pasted it into the thank you letter. It was evident that they lacked expertise in crafting effective job application letters.

Additionally, I find their pricing exorbitant for the subpar service provided. Despite providing feedback and suggestions, they seemed unwilling to listen or make necessary revisions. Overall, I would not recommend Resume Writing Group to anyone seeking professional resume writing assistance.
