“In My Area It's A Monopoly”

Ken S.
3/4/21

I have been a customer for 15 years, and I discuss Rise regularly with my neighbors. Rise behaves like all monopolies do. They just raised the price of my monthly plan 34% without any notice or explanation. Their advertised prices are misleading; they add an $11/month "Equipment Rental" and a $7/month "Carrier Recovery Fee" that would be more honestly called "Additional Money For Rise". I've had problems that took months to get resolved, and been told the lie that my slow speeds were "due to geography" even though the speed had been 3X faster a month earlier! Of maybe 8 times I've been told that tech support would call me back, it actually happened once. Rise has the capability to see that your antenna is out of alignment, but they don't check it unless a customer calls in with a problem. I could fill a book with stories of bad Rise experiences I've had and others have told me. Most of the employees I've dealt with have been nice, but Rise as a company will frustrate you over and over. Only competition would force them to clean up their act.

Rise Broadband. You were fired. Yes fired and got your equipment off my house the same day... Seems like you wanted to use my being without the internet for over 8 days as a SALES opportunity. The technicians first of all were impressed we even had a modicum of service from you all out here given the tower is over 6 miles away and the equipment is outdated. SO... you want US to sign a NEW contract with get NEW equipment at TIERED pricing... All the grandfathered people are frankly going to be getting it up the butt... HEADS UP... LOL NextLink could not get here til Jan 24th... DISH NETWORK HERE THIS MORNING! I HAVE INTERNET AGAIN! No, it's not suitable for gaming or Netflix (have no interest in that anyway.) And... it is a whole lot FASTER than RISE BROADBAND. RISE, YOU SUCK! MAY ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE! YOU ARE FIRED, FIRED, FIRED. ANYONE WHO EVER ASKS ABOUT WHO TO USE - WILL BE TOLD WHO NOT TO USE!

I have been a faithful customer of this company for AT LEAST the last 10 years. Always been a real good and reliable internet service, until the last 12 months! Download speeds are awful, streaming programs on TV are constantly buffering, if they play at all! Customer service will at least answer the phone, but very seldom has a solution, if repairs are needed to their service, they will be performed at their pace, etc... Seriously considering changing to another provider after all these years with this provider.
