“Many instruments to trade”

Matthias P.

Been trading with Selected Markets for the past two months and I currently have a practitioner account. Decent offerings in terms of trading instrument and I like that they have live chat support, which unlike other brokers, is working all the time. I'm mainly focused on some of the major forex pairs + indices like S&P 500 or NASDAQ. Based on the experience I had, there's no inconvenience with the company until now.

“This is a scam company.”

I invested $250. To see what this company was like and to date have not been able to withdraw my money. Don't put you money here as they are rude and unhelpful.

Working with selectedmarkets since June 2019 and my trading experience with them had been good. They could add some more trading instruments, but I'm focused on a few of them, which means I get everything I need. The company comes with a decent trading offer that contains what any trader needs to trade effectively.

Selected Markets is a scam, unfortunately I found this out the hard way.
Invested $17,000 and just 2 months later, I have less than $400 left in the account.
It isn't a case of the trading going unexpectedly downward or even trading by incompetent brokers. It's just a scam!
They take your $, make fake profits for a little while and then your $ disappears overnight.
Your broker will not even acknowledge your emails or respond to phone calls from this point on.
For anyone who is trading with this company, please STOP now. They could ruin your life as they have mine.
Two individuals ("brokers") to be aware of are Jay Wild and Ben Ross. Judging by my own experience with them and other reviews by clients, they are among the head scammers.
Jay Wild is the hard sell contact to con as much $ out of you as possible. When your $ is gone, Ben Ross will step in as a "recovery manager". He will NOT recover 1c for you, instead what might be left in your account will quickly disappear and so will he.

I invested $250 USD in selected-markets.com and in a week it went up to $700. I was stoked. So i asked to withdraw my original $400 and just invest using the profits made. As soon as i made that request. The trades went up to triple the buy ins they were doing before and overnight they had lost all my money and closed all the trades due to Margin Over Balance. They are now trying to say i owe them $82USD! When i tried to contact my broker or anyone i had previously talked to there is no response. This is a complete scam just to get people's deposit and never deliver any of your so called profits or initial deposit back to you. COMPLETE AND UTTER WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!

I like that Selected Markets had integrated news from Bloomberg and CNBC on their website. In this way I'll be always updated with the latest market news and find opportunities to trade. In my country, there are few options when it comes to trading brokers, but with Selected Markets everything looks to be ok.

After working with selectedmarkets I've realized that the company gives access to a generous set of trading features. Education, trading execution, reliable deposits and withdrawals, are just a few of them.

As a pro trader I wouldn't recommend to use the selectedbrokers.com platforms as your main, having said that it is an excellent platform for beginners. selectedbrokers.com makes it very easy to track your stocks and compare potential investments. They also do a pretty decent job assisting the beginner investor in understanding stock market processes.

There is some affiliate marketing promoting futures style trading of crypto currencies, utilising an AI (artificial intelligence) algorithm.

The promotion is written in an article format and is disguised as an Australian ABC news report. It also features logo's of other major Australian media agencies ("as seen on"), including an image of respected Australian commentator Waleed Aly. This all attempts to add authenticity to the post.

The article is allegedly written by an ABC journalist and features actress Nicole Kidman, again, a further attempt to increase authenticity and credibility.

The writer states that Kidman has been using a program called "Bitcoin Future" to create impressive returns. He also states that he, as an ABC journalist investigating the claims, had opened up an account himself, and replicated Kidman's returns. He further states that his co-workers did the same.

I decided to do my own investigation I opened an account with the minimum deposit of USD$250.

On talking with a consultant on the phone she never referred to her company or scheme as "Bitcoin Future", as it was promoted in the article. All emails and their website had the name "Selected Markets" instead. This is probably not a big point by itself, however it was a first sign that things weren't lining up (yellow alert #1).

This woman also stated that I would receive a phone call from a trader who would be assigned to help me with my account. Nothing was said about when I would start trading the account, and I certainly did not give any permissions, nor authorisations, for anyone else to trade the account.

The next day I opened the website and saw that someone had already placed a forex trade (not cryptocurrency). Even though the trade ended in a $5 profit (aka nothing) I was very annoyed that the trade occurred without my permission (yellow alert #2).

Later I received a phone call from a person who claimed to be a Selected Markets trader, who would assist me with the account. It was this person who placed the trade. Before I had time to address the earlier trade, he told me he had just opened second trade which was active (again, not in cryptocurrency, but in oil futures). I promptly instructed him to close the trade (yellow alert #3). The rep became very annoyed at this and started a torrent of remarks which seemed to never end and was basically rude, and rude in the extreme.

During his tirade he boasted about how good a trader he was, how he has many big clients, how he just received a brand new Rolls Royce that he paid cash for, and basically challenged my own integrity for being annoyed that I would question his behaviour over my account (yellow alert #4).

I pointed out that the marketing specifically mentioned the AI nature of a system that I wanted to investigate. He remonstrated that he was better than a robot and that it would be himself who would trade my account. I pointed out that this was not the primary reason I opened the account (yellow alert #5). I then advised him that he did not have my permission to trade the account and I expressly stated that he was to cease any intention henceforth.

As the trader continued his tirade, he referred to another AI system his company uses, called "Binary Uno". As it happens I am aware of Binary Uno and I was surprised to hear that this was the same company. If I had known this beforehand then I would not have opened an account. In short, Binary Uno does not work (yellow alert #6).

Throughout the tirade he mentioned that the initial deposit would not be enough to effectively trade the account anyway, and that I would need to deposit more funds soon. I am well aware of the need to have a certain amount of capital in an account. However, given the yellow alerts already mentioned, added to the way this person was speaking in terms of his manner and intonation, I could not help but think this company was more like a boiler room (yellow alert #7).

At this point my tolerance had expired. I stated to the trader that I would be closing the account forthwith. Instantly his attitude changed, he apologised profusely, and transformed into your ordinary telemarketer who attempts to get your business (yellow alert #8).

The bottom line: Selected Markets, Bitcoin Future, & Binary Uno cannot be trusted. I strongly recommend nobody do any business with this company.

Selected Markets is a company that I'm working with and most of their trading features look good to me. With 1:100 leverage, weekly market reviews, trading webinars, and a variety of trading instruments, you'll get everything you need to trade the markets.
