“Shame about its ability to track orders”

Shame about its ability to track orders - I placed an order on Dec 16th for several christmas gifts, all items were in stock, no warning of any problem, checked status of order Dec 23rd none of the items had been shipped, when I did get a human I was told that they don't know what the status is of the order, it may have shipped it may be in the warehouse, it may be nowhere. Can't cancel the order, can't do anything with it. Was told to refuse delivery of the order if and when it turns up... not exactly handy... what happens if it turns up in 2 weeks time... Order contents will no longer be needed and I will be back to work... so I then get to deal with whichever shipping company this firm used. No offer of any refund, or reduction in costs, nothing... just that it sucks to be me. Not exactly the way to win loyal customers or to recover a bad issue... This will be the last order I ever make with a catalog/online store that I have not used or have researched further. What a joke... and what a great way to treat customers...
