I ike the gams a trivia i leatn here, but wjat i noticed about every games is that the clock stops running like it is stuck and i can't aswer until it stars running again or ot goes away in the midle of the game. Was playing erase the usa and i had to hit start the game nine tims then couldn't answer because the clock wouldn't start.

Sporcle is a great way of entertainment for those that enjoy taking quizzes fun and even a way of studying. There's quizzes for just about everything - music, art, geography, etc. If you're planning to or are taking geography, sporcle is a great way for knowing the location of landmarks and countries. Would recommend, especially if you are a student that is taking some sort of geography course.

Have never witnessed such a horribly ran site in my life. Paying to remove ads is not the answer when you can't even enjoy the site at all on mobile due to huge ads covering the entire quiz.
You might as well not even bother creating quizzes because they only publish their payers and/or special members they cater too for publishing. You always see the same members be chosen. It's like a lame high school clique.
Cannot believe this site has survived past 2011 as that was its downfall.

I don't understand where some people have got one star from. Sporcle is a huge site full of free quizzes made by the community. You can also make your own quiz full of stuff you are interested in but are not already on Sporcle. Great site with great quizzes. It is also free to play meaning there is no downside to enjoy some quizzes.

I enjoy the site but I think curators and editors should lose that position on the site if they create quizzes and never update them if a change needs to be made. I write this because I have played two quizzes by the same curator where there are incorrect answers on the quizzes. The curator is not responsive to comments in the comment section pointing out these errors. One of the quizzes is even a curator pick and still has a question that needs to be updated.

I've been addicted to this since around twothousandandseventeen(i just need the characters). I have also learned too much. My only complaint is that not all photos load.

Enough with the powered by admiral pop-up begging users to turn off their ad-blocker. Users wouldn't have to used an ad-blocker if the ads weren't so intrusive that Sporcle uses. They cover content completely and sometimes you can't even close them. Using an ad-blocker is the only choice if you don't want to pay to upgrade to Sporcle Orange. I had to re-load the Sporcle page at least 10 times to get the admiral pop-up to stop appearing over a quiz.

Registered for a little over a year and have learnt much regards Geography and Other. More to come...

You get accused of cheating when your a new name on the leaderboards amongst the usual sad suspects who spend every second they have on the site. I don't see the point in having features like badges, levels and leadership boards if only the moderator's favourites are allowed to use them. It's a site full idiots if I'm honest and aa previous reviews state if your not in their cliche they will constantly give you time outs and reports until your gone from there one way or another, myself I opted to call them all pathetic $#*!s and delete my profile

Sporcle is an absolutely wonderful time sink. There are quizzes on literally any topic conceivable. It's been great as a memorization tool for long lists, and some of the quizmakers are super creative. The main complaint I've always seen is ads, ads, ads. Admittedly, the ads were pretty bad at one point, but they've done better at scaling them back to less intrusive less annoying ones. It's a free site (with no ads for paid members). The community is wonderful to interact with as well.
Admins have been incredibly responsive to any issues I've had, and has always tried to make it right.
All in all, it's been an effective learning tool and a time sink I don't feel too guilty about.

I enjoy the site but there is an annoying user who is a wannabe admin or staff member. This user is always responding to posts in the Report a Problem group, but is not an admin or staff member. It's annoying. I like the site though.

Sporcle is now just full of pop up ads in every corner, covering content. They must be really desperate to try to get people to pay for their site. They've ruined the site.

I think getting 100% on certain quizzes to earn a badge is a bit much. For example: getting 100% on Harry Potter Top 200 to earn the Order of Merlin, First Class badge. Who really knows all of the top 200 characters in the Harry Potter series by number of mentions without looking the answers up? (which defeats the purpose) If you do know them all without looking the answers up, it's actually sad.:-)

There's a certain user who is constantly writing comments in the quiz comments section about Chloe Grace Moretz. It's completely adolescent and annoying.

Has a wide variety of topics and categories of trivia. Different types of quizzes (photos, videos, traditional, music, etc.). It's extra fun to play with someone, me and my boyfriend often sit on our laptops and take the same quiz and see who can finish first or do better! Also fun for making your own quizzes and using to study, if that applies to you.

To many ads, cause lag and performance issues, crash the browser mid games - not well thought out ads either. Big L on this website now

LOTS of variety on quizzes, trivia, and game topics. I love this website! Also like that you can submit games of your own.

Not only fun for adults -- but kids too! There are lots of topics that can get them interested to play (I hooked a kid with a Pokémon game then challenged him to a geography game --- sneaky!)

Games come in different varieties: matching, spelling, selecting from a list, ordering, naming & identifying, fill in the blank, listing, etc. Excellent to keep brain sharp and just have fun!

The daily showdown leaderboards have been ruined by users who just play the same quick pick quiz showdown against bots all day long. There is a user who is #1 right now with 461 wins. If you look at the user showdown plays, the user plays the same quick quizzes over and over again against the Sporcle bot all day long. Where is the fun in that? I think the daily leaderboard should be for unique plays that day.

There are many excellent quizzes on Sporcle, and the userbase is very creative in developing various games such as mine puzzles.

Their customer support is excellent. Despite being a completely free website, their email responses have been quicker and more informative than other companies that I was a paying customer for... Comcast and PG&E.

It's very exciting to see the new quizzes each day.

Sporcle is perhaps best known for their geography quizzes such as the excellent "How many countries of the world can you type in 15 minutes?" (with a map). That can get a bit cluttered, so doing them continent by continent in separate quizzes is also possible. I've learned a lot of geography from this site, including how to correctly spell Kyrgyzstan on the first try. There is a lot of variety; use the search feature, and this site can keep you busy for a while.

Logged in users can submit quizzes of their own as well. If well received by other Sporcle users, these can sometimes become "official" and get promoted to the front page. Note that this is a community of trivia buffs so be sure to carefully check your work if you plan to design quizzes. You will hear about it in the comments if you forget that France borders Brazil, that Denmark is the 13th largest country by area, or that the West African country between Liberia and Ghana prefers to be alphabetized under "C", not "I".

User experiments with the flexibility of the quiz design feature have yielded many different types of quiz formats beyond the simple "List all the___'s". Quizzes have been designed to simulate various game show formats, crossword puzzles, music lyrics, and matching.

The site is quite functional for logged out users, but registering with an email address allow commenting, rating, user statistics, and quiz creation.

This is a trivia game site, and it's a gas! I love the sports questions, but it also has geography, literature, history and a lot more. There are 'blitz' questions you can play by yourself, or more detailed questions you can play with a friend (live or over the phone). I have to say it's a great intellectual exercise and tests a lot of knowledge across many subjects. So it's great fun if this is your thing.
