Top Critical Review

“Mostly a waste of time and money.”

The UI is dated and kinda clunky/confusing. The chatrooms are sparse, filled with people confused about said UI as well as a few long time lurkers who just ruin the vibe. The curators are extremely picky, and most give you generic copy and paste feedback. In the event of an acceptance, you usually find that the playlist/or blog you are added to is completely dead. Dig a little deeper and you find that a lot of "influential" curators have paid for their high follower count, which explains the abysmal engagement metric. (Ex: 15,000 Facebook Followers and not a single like on any of their posts) The Hot Or Not feature is a nice tool for some ego boosting/damage, but you quickly learn there is a lot of copy and pasting due to the way the model is built. You can give feedback on others tunes to earn credits. Give enough feedback and those credits can be converted to premium. Those premium credits can be used for submitting to curators or for Hot Or Not. This obviously creates a conflict of interest and starts watering down the quality of the ratings. The site is a nice idea in theory, but there are other services that have evolved far beyond what this offers and feel a lot less scammy and low bar. The ratio of submissions to active curators is insane.

Tip for consumers:
It's worth throwing a couple of coffees worth of money at it... if for nothing else than to learn these facts for yourself.
