Takelessons

Just a note to inform others who are on the fence with this company that I have been a Teacher for over 25 plus years. Work in private school settings for 20+ yrs. Concerned where I wanted to use a platform to hang my hat that was safe for all parties involved. I searched carefully, details beyond normal and with keen efforts. So I did my homework. And I pulled the trigger with TakeLessons. Very Happy with my deceision. More importantly are the students I am honored to teach. They are the ones that make my job rock. So it's been excellent with students, schedules, Covid concerns, life juggling and helping students succeed on the internet with a subject they have an interest in. As a Teacher I prefer to teach in person. My job is to help them achieve thier goals and build out their wish list. Whether in person or online. Take lessons has helped online in many ways. I do agree on a few issues. A note on billing needs to button up in a easier, friendlier manner. Along with in house features - tools have improved but the support team needs to continue to add more. They have but keep in coming. This is Super helpful for both Teachers and students. All in all I am very pleased with Take lessons. As I end each one of my lesson, I share this always "Don't forget to shine because someone else may need your light."

Too much competitions! The Tutoring company is being operated as a Fraternity/Sorority. The selected Tutors with the best rating and neglect others. They don't care about Tutors who are suffering financially. The Company only cares about making money from Tutors lessons. I have been with them for few months. I was told that it will take two months to get a student. Up till now, I don't have a single student because they don't bother to offer my prices. They choose and select which Tutor they want to offer prices that is not based on the teaching/tutoring experience. It is dominated by Fraternity and Sorority members who are they to make that anybody who is not like them, doesn't get a fair chance in getting students to tutor. All I do work hard to prepare upload 10 minutes lessons and stay up allllllllll night upload them only to be paid less than 25 cents. I have a Graduate TEFL Certificate, Masters degree, and I am not a young person. It takes less time for me to upload a 15 to 30 minutes lesson on Vimeo and transfer it to YouTube than a 10 minute lesson on Takelessons's website. It's time very consuming to upload lessons on Takelessons and I don't even receive enough in return. I feel like I am being scammed and taken advantage of. The CEO left and I was blocked on facebook by one of their Administrative Staff for no reason.
