Don’t ask for help, go else where
I contacted the site for tutoring in a math class. I was later approached on WhatsApp by someone calling themselves Alex with phone number *******843. We had a brief conversation about my course and Alex gave pricing details and said that a payment link could be sent. I asked if there was any paperwork to support tutoring agreement so I would not be sending money to an unknown via WhatsApp. There was no paperwork to send according to Alex. I decided to compare this info/ prices with other tutoring sites so I did not immediately respond to messages. About 4 minutes later, I received a phone call and series (about 8) of text asking about payment. This made me even more uneasy. 15 minutes after that, I received 8 more messages with the "expert" (tutor I am guessing) email, WhatsApp phone number and a message saying the expert is waiting for me. Received 2 more phone calls. More messages asking if I was busy, saying hello, asking if there was a problem, and typing my name with question mark.
I finally told Alex that I was waiting to give any payment until I could verify somethings. Then I received a threatening message saying I was obligated to sign up and that they could ruin my academic career and approach my "supervisor" for academic dishonesty. I let Alex know that unless I was paying to take my classes, nothing had been dishonest. Also, that blackmail or extortion is illegal. I told Alex I would not be proceeding with any payment. I told Alex that I did not respond to threats. Then Alex said he was writing my school to chat with my professor. I told Alex that I intended to make a complaint about the service and lack of professionalism. Then Alex messaged that they had me charged with academic misconduct and that my enrollment was canceled and to please check. I told Alex to quit contacting me. I received a message saying SEND NUDES! More messages saying they were contacting my school now and that our conversation would be sent to my "instructor" now. Lastly, a few more messages claiming they were writing the academic integrity department, that I was never black mailed and that I would not find a single bad review. I saw at least two before posting this one. Long story short -STAY AWAY!
Tip for consumers:
Probably not legit if asked for payment outside of actual site and incorrect words are spelled and used in message conversation.
